Oceanic Motel

We had a great view of the inlet. We were on the second floor. There were a lot of stairs. The bathroom was very tiny. Room used a window AC unit but it kept us comfortable. The TV kept losing cable connection. The door had been warped by the sea air. Great big crack between the bottom of the door and frame. There were lots of people. Access to beach and inlet. We could fish. It's all about priorities.

Room was very small but clean. Staff was super nice and friendly. The motel had a nice view of sunset and Assateuge island if you have balcony that you can see wild horses far away in the morning, better view with binoculars. We went to fishing pier which included got some flounders! The pool was nice by the ocean. Boardwalk was walkable just 5 minutes away!

The location is excellent and the staff was super kind! Being able to cook on the grill by the water was very nice. Our particular room REALLY needed curtains. Our room was located directly on the street with windows all around and at 2:00 a.m. it was like daylight. Blinds alone just did not cut it! Otherwise, we enjoyed it and will return.

The room was much much smaller than we had expected. Very tight quarters in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable. There are no microwaves or coffee pots in the rooms. Part of the allure for me was that the motel boosted about having a private beach. There is a beach but you aren’t allowed to go swimming where the beach is and they don’t mention that part. I won’t be staying there a second time. It was once and done for me

Amazing location. Perfect for the money! Beach & pool & fishing on sight!

I stayed at this motel for the October car show. If you are looking for a 5star this isn’t it. If you are looking for a convenient location this is it. Easy walk to anywhere on the BW. Also great views from my room (sitting outside). I backed my truck into the space and tailgated looking at the water drinking Woodford. Room was small, yes, but clean and appeared to be recently renovated. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the room. Because Maryland legalized weed, there was a constant smell of weed, but after dark on the BW it stunk of weed as well. So that’s not the motel’s fault. There is a private beach on two sides of the motel. I sort some time there as well as on the ocean beach. I will be back again.

Staff and housekeeping were very friendly and sociable. The atmosphere here is welcoming. It is not the most updated facility but we will definitely be returning. Our kids enjoyed the beach area on the bay and the access to the fishing pier.

You can see Assateague Island across the inlet and we saw horses over there one day. The walkability was amazing, it’s 5 minutes from the beach and you don’t have to cross any streets, you can follow the walking path along the inlet. Shopping and the boardwalk are only blocks away. And, the fishing opportunities were fantastic, you can fish right off the property as they are right on the inlet and they include a free pass to the bay fishing pier, which directly behind the motel, for every day you are there. Cons: It’s an older building and the rooms are small, but they are okay. It seemed pretty clean, we looked it over pretty good when we arrived. We were there two nights with no problems, but we did see a bed bug in the room the day we left.

Had a great time. My room was located in parking lot across from the ocean. The board walk and all restaurants and bars are rite there to walk to.The porch had nice wooden rocking chairs and it was shady most of the day. The fishing peer is rite there and you get a free pass for the day . Poles are only 10 bucks to rent for 12 hours and the fish store is open all night. So we fished during the day and night. Brian and other workers in office are really nice and helpful.The room it self is ok. No complaints. It was big and air conditioner, tv frig ,microwave all worked great. I’ve stayed in other hotels but this will now be my go to place. Can’t wait to go back. So book your room and have a great time, it’s all good. 😀

Loved the view of the water wouldn’t have liked inside room on ground floor. View of parking lot nice pool. Room cozy, not fancy. Did not like the fact housekeeping only did bathroom when cleaning Pool was very nice and clean.

Place was very rough. Checked in, walked into room and immediately noticed trim missing around base of the wall. Long blonde hair throughout the bed. Rooms look absolutely nothing like the pictures. Room just felt dirty. Went to front desk where the guy working the counter was very nice and polite. I asked to be moved or get a refund. To which he said he would have to wait till following Monday to speak with his manager. Refund wasn’t granted but checked out anyway and moved to a different hotel in hopes the manager would grant my refund. I’m am writing this after follow up on Monday, refund was not granted. This place is in a great location but needs a lot of work and updating. Would NOT RECOMMEND staying here.

This place has bed bugs. We checked out early because we saw one crawl across the end of the bed. Haven’t heard from the management yet about a remedy. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Had a nice view of the water though separated by a parking lot. Nice little beach area. I rated this as excellent because even though it older and there were a few flaws (tear in the carpet) it was clean and the staff were excellent. Very nice people who are eager to make your stay great. Excellent location. Went for a weekend concert and the walk was very close. This is the 3rd time I’ve been to Ocean City for this concert and this was by far the cleanest place I’ve stayed. We just really need a place to sleep as we are out enjoying what Ocean City has to offer and Oceanic did not disappoint. Small, but what we needed. Would stay here again.

The place is dirty. There was roaches. The ac didn’t work well. Things are old and gross. It was walking distance to the Country Calling and that’s why we stayed. But will NEVER stay again.

Lots of flies in room. Toilet kept blocking up had to keep a plunger. Toilet paper holder kept coming off wall. Barhroom wall repaired wrong leakage through the wall. Carpet always felt moist. Wouldxnot stay there again

We've stayed here quite a few times. And although the carpets are very outdated and not very clean its a great place to stay! The view is spectacular!! I get most my sunrise and sunset pictures there!! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Of course we'd stay there again!!

The guy at the front dream was great didn’t get too get his name but he was the greatest of the experience there when we got into the room there was a smell that I found out was the pull out couch didn’t even have too open it all the way saw what I needed and put it back bedroom was nice the ac worked great bathroom was good as well besides a brown substance on the wall don’t know what it was my main reason for my review is the flies there was a whole family of flies in our room they would hang out on the ceiling and then come down after you my husband killed four while we were there the others were too fast

I love this place for the location and the views! Could definitely use updating and most of the rooms are too small for me so I get the "communicating room" which is nice and roomy.

Overall, cleanliness was good but carpet could use some work. Unfortunately, the bed was not comfortable. It’s sagged in the middle. If that had been good the overall stay would’ve been excellent.

Location and staff were wonderful. window unit AC rattled all night up against the bed. Bathroom needs serious updates. Door did not close all the way, floors were dirty and lighting was wild bright. carpet was sticky :-/ headlight from cars were right on windows by beds. blind window coverings were missing in some areas and no drapes. No privacy

we don't stay here for the rooms. We have been coming here for over 10 yrs. I have come here for business and with family. Usually the rooms are dingy, and pretty gross and run down. but we come here for the location. Last year was the worst room ever and worst service ever, I even had to complain. This year, I was so excited because our room was so much better, I think they threw a new coat of paint on things or something, but at least they looked a bit better. (furniture still very outdated and uncomfortable). I was very excited until it was time to go to sleep and realized there was an overhead light directly out my front window and the window next to my bed.. even with all the lights out, our place was completely lit up like it was mid day all night long. I just had to laugh... I covered my eyes and slept. :) the room was much better, the staff were VERY friendly this time ( i think there was a turn over in staffing thankfully) and everything was good as always. Location, location, location.... and yes... we will be back. I'll bring my eye mask!! :) (I remembered my sound canceling headphones for this trip!!) so not bad, not great.. but you cannot beat the view or the location. it is the best!!!

BEd sure seemed very small for a queen Definitely needed some kind of hooks or bars in bath to hang wet towels Outside lighting combined with just mini blinds made it difficult to fall asleep Good enough for one night but couldn’t imagine staying there for a week

The placement was perfect (city and view wise). Rooms are very VERY small, bathrooms are the smallest I’ve ever seen. Other than that it was decently cleaned. Had a bunch of flies, but was clean.

Upon check in-the staff is more than happy to help you with anything you may need. The room was clean and smelled fabulous! Our view was spectacular and the guest were quiet and kind.

Unfortunately I did not get to stay the night at the Oceanic. After I was told I could not inquire about the pool over the phone without my mother (I am 26 years old), I still went ahead booked a room with a patio for a deal. Upon my arrival I was put in a standard hotel room, no patio, that smelled like cigarettes. After going back to speak with staff, I was told that they double-booked the room and had no patio room to give me. They asked me to stay in a standard room for the inflated price. I spoke to the manager as the two men working the counter laughed at me. The manager issued a refund for a non-refundable room because of what I went through. She was kind, but it does not fix an attempted scam.

Front desk super nice ! And great view

The hotel was so small, not very clean. We found a pill on the floor. This hotel I would say is not a place for families to stay. The room next to us they were partying all night long. Playing loud music, drinking and shouting all night. I finally had enough of it and at 3am called the front desk to have them ask them to be quieter. They said they would send security but no one ever came to talk to them. This lasted all night and morning. We got no sleep due to how loud they were. They walls are very thin you can hear everything the next room says. I would definitely not recommend this motel unless you are there to party. I will definitely never return.

The staff at Oceanic are always amazing. I had booked a few different nights separately and Brian helped me to make sure we were in the same room. He really went out of his way. I love how relaxing it is here.

I got the keys for the ist room, and there were people already in that room. Then I was changed to a second room. The next day the hotel office called me tell me I had to move again. They had booked a reunion for that side of the hotel. Had to move to a third room. I would have moved to different hotel but all in the area were full. I worked things out with the hotel. The hotel has manny issues one is security. How can there be people in a room when I’m the only one with the keys?

The young man that checked us in acted like he was working for a 5 star hotel. Very rude. The carpets are disgusting and definitely needs to be updated. Only positive were the people that cleaned the rooms

I like that I can view the inlet from my window and take a short walk to the ocean. The parking is also extremely convenient.

Very nice and accommodating staff. Great location next to the inlet. Old-school local motel, but clean and a great place to stay for Ocean City events. Everything is walkable, park and leave your car. Excellent value.

Love the area and convenience to the boardwalk and fishing pier as everything is walkable.

Even though this motel is older it was in pretty good shape. Best location overall since you are on the inlet and can see the ocean too.

Location is great, gorgeous bay views. Good deal the money. Small rooms but worth it for price and location. No issues

The rooms need some upgrading, but it sufficed for only being used for sleeping. The location is perfect walking distance and made it so easy to explore the beach and boardwalk.
