Paihia Pacific Resort Hotel

Lovely staff BUT not a comfortable stay for female alone. Arrived unsure if the hotel was actually functioning as all the lights were off in the smoked glass reception. It was 5.30pm and nearly dark. Discovered there were only 2 other rooms booked. Room was upgraded so larger but layout meant all plug sockets were inaccessible so all had extension leads. Seemed to be a drainage issue - looked and basin v slow. As a lady alone.... Back door needs BOLTs not a twisty know that you can't check if its locked. No outside lighting so when I went out to dinner I had to use phone torch to lock door and to make sure I didn't fall over as no lighting until lane at front. Remote on TV had flat batteries - popped to reception 15 mins after I checked in to find it closed until the morning. The isolation and darkness made me feel vulnerable. Apart from delightful staff and reasonable breakfast, not much I can add!

Was definitely in low season. Paid for breakfast, none to be found. No employees. Pool area locked up after dinner. Disappointed.

Room was clean but the shower/bathtub was terrible. Needs to be changed. Rest of place waa good.

Outstanding 2 night stay, wish we had longer. Fantastic suite, staff super friendly nothung too much bother. Special mention to Howie. Lovely pool area for chilling and fab location.
