Easy access from Picton Ferry terminal. Had to park around side on gravel because car park was full, not that it was a. Issue, only on luggage wheels. Stair and lift access to rooms. Small king size bed, slept well enough though. TV could only access one station, all other services were unavailable. Large room, clean and tidy. View glimpses of water and harbour. We had continental breakfast included but ordered and paid for extra shot cappuccinos, which we could not drink because they were far to hot and the large cup weakened the flavour of coffee.

Coming off the ferry (running late) for a one night stay we had a friendly reception that gave the basic highlights of our stay. The room was clean and modern with direct access to the pool, and the bed was very comfortable. The only criticism would be the restricted car parking on our side of the property and the limited choices of menu options available from their new menu (5 choices but only 4 available).

Could not rate our experience here highly enough. From the minute we arrived (free parking just steps from the front door) the first impressions were very pleasing We were checked in by a smiling, very helpful member of staff and given a room with a stunning view of the bay. Beautiful Room was spacious, very comfortable and quiet Breakfast was excellent, easily found and served in a room with an excellent view Access to the town and harbour by foot could not have been easier. Great staff, very helpful

Great location, attentive staff, great service in providing pre packed breakfast for early morning departure. Cleaning of lifts and corridors need attention. A planned upgrade of the premises will make this venue even better.

We loved our view from the bedroom ranch sliders… down to pool & out to the Picton Harbour. Would love level 3, room 304 again !!! Was surprised how warm the pool was!

This was a great place for us to stay as a group of 5. The continental breakfast was good. The rooms comfortable. My only reservation on giving it 5 stars is that our shower has mold growing between the tiles. We would stay here again however.

I got the impression that I was a nuisance when I booked in. The shower was dirty and the soap and shampoo shelf was at 45deg. Not suprising since it was only held by suction cups. The fridge had a half empty bottle of coke in it. The floor was dirty and a very bad stain in the carpet out the room. The room was heated by a 1969 heater that sounded like a 747. I wouldnt stay there again. It is described as a hotel but at best it would be a two star motel.

Staff were excellent . Have done some renovations but still alot to be done. We were in a renovated room but smelt very musty and shower was full of mould distracted from otherwise pleasant stay. Breakfast was excellent.

The room was basic, with no air conditioning. There was a pedastal fan that was caked in dust. There was a layer of dust along the top of the headboard, and also on the desk. The bathroom however was very clean. The hotel needs some updating to bring it to 2023 standards, instead of 1990.

Good kitchen staff but the room’s toilet was smelly. I vomited twice every time i went to the toilet, on the first night itself. The pungent smell was really strong. I called reception at 3 am wanted to change room but no one picked up. The next morning, i had to buy electric scented oil warmer to reduce the pungent smell.

The room we had was in very poor condition .carpets badly marked with bleached spots. Leather chair ready for tip. Couch dirty. Curtains about 2 foot too long and dirty. You would think for a yacht club the condition would be better. They were doing works outside painting and scaffolding but apart from the bathroom in the apartment the rest needs an urgent overhaul.

Unfortunately I was checked in to a room that the bed linen was not changed. I reported this the next day and asked for clean linen but no accountability or apology. Disappointed!! The hotel itself is lovely. An error or just bad housekeeping !!!

Bed was terrible, big dips on both sides. Booked a sea view room, when we checked into the room, we found a tree blocking most of the sea view. Could only see a sea view if you stood at the very edge of the room. Luckily one other sea room was still available, and we were allowed to change rooms.

Nice location andview of the harbour, but the place could use some sound proofing and more secure room doors. The doors are very flimsy and don't fit properly, light comes in all around it, which also means you hear everything in the hallway. I could hear every door open and slam close starting at 3 am. My room was across from the elevator access door which probably made things worse. Also, some better patio furniture might be nice, just 2 basic office chairs, no table. The patio's are shared. On the good side, the bed was comfy.

Great affordable clean property. My room was right next to restaurant- do if my balcony curtains or doors were open - ZERO privacy. Only negative was not being able to have curtains drawn open at all.

We had a room facing to the street. There was No airconditioning in the room. In order to cool down the room temperature we opened the windows, but it was very noisy during the day and also during the night. Breakfast was good.

Perfect place for our stop over in Picton. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. We caught the late night ferry across from Wellington. As this was outside receptoon hours, we received a text detailing the code for the door and how to get our key. Instructuons with our key were very useful. We would definitely stay again.

I don't know where to begin... The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have travelled a lot, and in the last 3 months alone I have stayed in over 30 hotels. This takes the biscuit as the worst one by a million miles. The incompetence of the staff is astonishing, the lack of communication is laughable and the standard of the hotel just beggars belief. Our mattress was a dish sponge with a hole in the middle and a sheet on top and the rooms are tired. That said, we could just about overlook this if it wasn't for the following. The hotel had no hot water for 24 hours and the manger didn't think it his responsibility to contact a maintenance company or to update any guests throughout the situation. When we complained (15 hours into it), he assured me it was out of his hands. I was lied to by two members of staff, who both told me that it would be back on within the hour and a maintenance man was fixing it as we spoke. Picton itself is lovely and we put the hotel experience behind us and enjoyed our time there. I wasn't going to leave a review but upon check out and while on a ferry across to Wellington, my credit card was charged £161.87 (approx $350) without my knowledge, consent or any prior communication. Having contacted the hotel, they told me they had 'made a mistake and were struggling to refund it'. Too long didn't read version - DO NOT STAY HERE, STAY LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!

On our way home, on the ferry back to wellington, a staff member rang to say they found a bracelet left behind in our room. I had not yet missed it! It was an expensive bracelet, gift from my husband and they couriered it to our home address. It was waiting for me when we arrived home, i was overjoyed. That's just great service, thank you!

Good little hotel… but no AC and if you get a room exposed to the sun, the temperature raise above 35°. At night, extremely noisy… certainly a club is located around.

Great location - but allow plenty of time for breakfast. While the breakfast was excellent it took 30 minutes to arrive so allow time if you have somewhere to get to. One minor point, the hotel had run out of tonic water - so no gin and tonic!! I did point out that there was a supermarket only 400m away to no avail.

Very good location, perfect stay for a night before ferry. Bathroom cleaning was not good, shower head continually dropped cold water while other shower head was used. Bit more attention on cleaning and maintenance would be required. Fridge didn’t work and we only noticed next morning. Place is pleasantly quiet. Dinner was delicious however the breakfast was well below any expectations.

The Picton yacht club claimed that they had a computer glitch and overbooked. Thankfully, they booked us at the beachcomber next-door, which worked OK. However, the the beachcomber hotel had a better dinner menu, but there was no availability in the restaurant so we had to eat at the Picton yacht club. My husband ordered the fish and chips and it was horrible. No malt vinegar available. I ordered the salmon and it was good but a very small piece of fish. The prices are higher at the Picton yacht club and the menu is more extensive at the beachcomber.
