Fairfield Inn by Marriott

The lobby is undergoing major renovations. There is drywall dust everywhere. They are doing their best to mitigate the dust but you just have it while it’s going on. The rooms are lovely though just dusty.

Our room was spacious and comfy. Staff was friendly. We were happy with location. We were underwhelmed by the “pool” and lack of hot tub that were advertised in the listing. The pool was a tub at best and there was no hot tub. We booked this hotel mainly for those accommodations.

Our room was very quiet! We booked this hotel because it stated and has pictures of a whirlpool/hot tub. Whirlpool has been filled in and covered with concrete.

The hotel was kind of new and the room was clean. The only BIG ISSUE we had is that they are doing false propaganda with the pool pictures on their website. The pool is so tiny and only 5 feet deep and more disappointing was so dirty. My six year old was so sad not being able to go in the pool. I suggest you to put real pictures or invest some money in the pool area.

Nice hotel and clean. I think they were having some issues while we were there. O my 1 elevator was working and it was pretty warm overall, especially when going down for breakfast. Second time I have stayed here, and will again, just some temporary problems.

The pool is closed for renovation. That was our whole point in staying. So we stayed at a different hotel.

Overall a good stay though not excellent. The breakfast is disappointing. Five coffee thermoses and the cream ran out until refills were requested. It took another 15 minutes unril they were refilled and they subsequently had a lot of coffee grounds in them. Also, certain foods ran out and weren't replaced in a timely manner. Air conditioning in the common areas wasnt working and no fans were placed in these areas. Pretty uncomfortable. The parking area in the back of the building is very dark. Expected more from Marriott for the price.

It would have been great to know the property was completely under construction. This resulted in construction noises, dust and mess everywhere no available amenities. Not the experience I was looking to have the ONE night I get with my partner between business trips. A heads up would have been great so I could have made arrangements elsewhere.

The hotel was under renovation. Which made it hard to navigate to different areas. There was a lot of dust. Also surrounding the hotel there was a lot of construction large equipment just unsafe to me. The bed was a queen size small I paid for a king and extra for just the single king size bed. Hotel staff was not available or accommodating. To top it all off 50 days later I was charged out of nowhere a $20 reversal charge. It’s been two weeks and I’ve heard nothing nor have I got my money back. I wish I would’ve taken pictures.

The hotel was very dirty. The shower especially. In the bathroom there was dirt caked in the corners and hair. The ceiling in our room and in the hall was patched and cracked. We asked the front desk to clean, she said she’d check with housekeeping. No one came to clean the bathroom. We went to the beach, luckily we rinsed off at the showers there because we couldn’t use the hotel shower. It was not worth the cost of 200 a night. Luckily, we were only there for one evening.

Found blood on a blanket. No air conditioning in lobby, elevators, or hallway. Also found a can of alcohol in the fridge still and also a tube of ky jelly along with flavor adult wipes in a drawer. Also encountered 2 racoons by the entrance at night. Will not be staying there again.

The room was not the cleanest. The bathroom was not cleaned.

Our stay at The Fairfield Inn was delightful. The room was very spacious and spotless. We will definitely stay there again.

Very pretty lobby, very clean

We were extremely disappointed in this property. We spent over 700 dollars for two nights and I in no way felt it was worth it. The pros: parking was fine, the breakfast was expansive enough for a wide variety of tastes, the location was great for the different beaches and restaurants in the area. The cons: our room was dirty (food on the floor, dust in the corners, hair on the bathroom floor, dirty bathtub), the rooms/halls were wrecked (carpet pulled up in places and a trip hazard, our ceiling showed clear evidence of previous water damage), the pool was disgusting (we own a pool, they aren’t supposed to be cloudy and murky like that). However I would say the biggest con was some of the staff. Now some were great, kind, no issues. But specifically, our dead bolt wouldn’t go in and we couldn’t close our door. When I called the front desk they asked if we had tried ABC to fix it and we had. She seemed very annoyed to come up and said “this happens all the time,” which I find a little odd that your locks to your doors are broken that frequent but whatever. This woman came up and knocked, didn’t acknowledge me, reached around me to the door handle, smacked it, and then left. I felt very dismissed and was a little upset with how rude she was. It’s not my fault your doors don’t work and you had to come up one level to fix it. And that may seem very small and first world, but when you add it all together (this happened towards the end of our trip), I was done. we wont come back

Hotel and rooms were very clean. Great location right near the entrance to the beach and lots of restaurants and stores. Quiet area with easy parking. Nice breakfast was included except the staff for breakfast wasn't that friendly or helpful. The room was very spacious with room for a fifth person in a separate area. There was one dirty spot but overall everything was very clean. Pool.was nice but very small..

The staff were very friendly. The property was clean, welcoming and convenient to the town.The room was clean and comfortable. The negatives: being close to the interstate, you get the road noise. Just noise in general. We heard showers from other rooms, people walking in the hallway, and doors opening/closing.

The beds were so uncomfortable. Almost 200 a night. I do a lot of traveling. And I have never had a bedtime. Comfortable had a place that I paid that much.. Will never stay at a fairfield again.

Overall very good, however I prefer a firmer bed, but this will not deter me from staying at location again.

Enjoyed our room. We had a king bed with a sofa bed. We liked the separated spaces and the clean and well-kept hotel.

Had a 2 night king suite, strange room layout; unused space. Only “1” 2-drawer chest for clothes. Dirty windows, strange filling toilet, and noisy air conditioner. Also, why no A/C in 3rd floor hallway, and lower level, eating / lobby area. Expect more from Marriott/ Fairfield

We were disappointed that the hot tub, seen in the property photos, had been concreted over and is no longer. The pool water was very cold. Large (king bed) hotel room, and it was fairly obvious they opted out of getting a new seating area when it was last remodeled- vast empty space and one sad tiny uncomfortable chair. Hotel was fine for sleeping but overall a disappointment

It seemed like the hotel had no insulation. Trying to sleep on a main level room and all I could hear all night long was footsteps from the floor above me. I probably won't stay here again but if I do I would request a top level room.

Hotel was nice, but WIFI connection was hit or miss. Staff were very nice. We wished there was a hot tub.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working in any common areas for the entire stay. The desk staff never acknowledged us coming or going and were gruff when asked questions etc. No doubt the no air made for difficult working conditions. A few issues with door not locking as well!

This hotel is currently under renovation, but they are handling everything extremely well! Staff is AMAZING! Great dinner suggestions from the desk staff. Everyone was friendly, smiling. The room was clean and fresh. The renovation never bothered us a bit.

The bathroom had hair lying on the floor and in the sink. The room had a strong burning smell. I called to clarify an extra charge that the hotel made to my card and they hung up on me twice. Terrible customer service.

My first comment on anything ever I believe. Stayed 1 night. Our room did not appear to be vacuumed, crumbs, fruit loops, gold fish on the floors when we checked in. Staff was nice and vacuumed for us right away. The bathroom sink water got so hot it almost burnt my son. Visible steam from bathroom faucet just past the middle to hot. I let front desk know and they said they'd create a work order. Pictures of pool area outdated. The hot tub is now a concrete sitting area. Common area bathroom by pool did not have working lights. Never any cups for water provided and ran out of coffee and milk at breakfast. I guess I expected more for price. Won't stay here again probably and we've been going to the area for 12 years. The staff was very nice and helpful which did not match the setting.

Overall service of staff was great. Housekeeping was having some logistic challenges; however, when we requested additional towels, the staff was very helpful.

This hotel must have been great once but it’s not kept tip top. We had no shower gel on the shower, tv didn’t work in the seating area but did work in the bed area. Breakfast wasn’t super and the people working were either dressed less than professional in housekeeping and wait staff where breakfast was served didn’t act like they wanted to be there. Kinda put us in a mood of less than. 🙁

The night we checked in, we were very unhappy with a lot of things at the hotel and we expressed our concerns to the lady at the front desk and we were told if we didn’t like it then we could pack our stuff and leave

Staff was incredibly kind and helpful! Easily accommodated a late checkout and assisted us with doing laundry. Parking was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again!

I will start with the positives--Great location! Very convenient and nice short drive to beach and town. The lobby and our room were in great condition and we were pleased with the size and cleanliness as we entered our room on the first night. But..then, our first problem was that our fridge was not getting cold. We went down to ask the front desk clerk, and she just said, "I don't know." and left it at that...so, we googled the make and model and found the hidden knob to turn to make the fridge cool (located in very back of fridge, which we had to pull away from wall to find) ourselves. That is pretty minor inconvenience but, our biggest concern was that housekeeping was non-existent during our stay. The first day we came back to our room in the evening and saw that our room was not cleaned or refreshed. We went to front desk because we at least needed fresh towels to use. The clerk said that the rooms only get cleaned every THREE days! Well, our garbage can is already overflowing and we don't have towels. So she hands us 4 towels and a garbage bag. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days and not once was our room touched. Every night we had to go down to desk and get 4 new towels and a garbage bag. (very tiny garbage can!) It is ridiculous to pay this amount of money and have no service. We had the four of us in the room so,by the time we checked out, we had 12 wet towels piled in the bathroom to climb over as we got ready. With better customer service, hotel would be great.

The hotel was very clean and close to everything!! Uber/lyft is limited out in that area, otherwise, everywhere was like a 5-7 min drive. 10/10 would recommend !!

Great alternative because the casino rooms were sold out! Nice getaway from Chicago. Near the expressway, but not really walkable to anywhere. Not far from downtown New Buffalo

We stayed at the hotel on Valentine’s Day. We had tickets to a Kenny G concert at Four Winds Casino that evening. The hotel was only about 5 minutes from the casino. The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and recommended a great restaurant for lunch (The Stray Dog). The room and beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and everything worked. The decor was modern. It was recently upgraded according to signage in the lobby. A complimentary continental breakfast was also included. The rate was great… much less than the casino and I would definitely stay here again.

this was conveniently located off the highway and within a few minutes from the beach and near all the activities we had planned. overall, i felt safe and comfortable and would definitely book there again.

The place was really nice. When you walk in it is very beautiful and well taken care of. The staff at the desk very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms we had were very nice. Breakfast was good my grandkids loved it.

Room was OK but needed maintenance. Broken closet door. AC in common areas was out. Breakfast was limited but hotel did not keep basics like coffee and napkins stocked. Definitely not up to Hampton standards.
