This property is in an excellent location, within walking distance of everything. The pool and bbq area are amazing. The unit had everything we needed but another towel and teatowel wouldve been great. There is a laundry available but to do a whole load for 2 towels seemed silly. Overall we had a great stay.

Well located within easy walking distance of both the beach and the shopping / dining precinct. We stayed 4 nights and utilised the in-room and BBQ cooking facilities which were well set up with strong easy-to-clean utensils. The pool was lovely and the heating made it more pleasant to swim in than other hotel pools in June. It was very quiet at night and we would definitely stay here again. The managers were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay.

Well located within easy walking distance of both the beach and the shopping / dining precinct. The name says it all - retreat A lovely welcome from David and Joyce and just drop your bags and relax A beautiful garden pool with bbq easy stroll to beach shops or marina all fully walkable Non smoking and quiet respectful guests the whole time we were there even over New Years Cannot fault the cleaners or maintenance will definitely stay again

Great, quiet location - 150 metres to the beach and only a 5-10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and wharf. Clean and tidy rooms and the hosts/managers were very friendly and welcoming. Free undercover parking, washing facilities and pool just outside our room. While the rooms would be considered a little dated, they were clean, comfortable and convenient, we’d definitely stay again.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Port Douglas Retreat. The property is beautifully landscaped and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and have everything you need. The resort is close to Port Douglas’s attractions- walking easily to the magnificent 4 mile beach, the Marina and of course McCrossan St. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Reception on arrival extremely poor, not even a hello, smile or welcome, bathroom smelt mouldy, could hear noise from room above even when they used the toilet, would never return here again.

Place was a bit tired and dated. The room hadn't had a good thorough clean in a long time. Linen was clean and fresh but had holes in the sheets. Front desk person was not very friendly, a bit off hand. Our room was located upstairs, there is no lift which could be a problem for some. Location to town was great, one block back from the main street and a short walk to the beach. Over all we were disappointed in the accommodation and will not be returning here.

We had a great stay. As it was a quiet time we had the pool practically to ourselves. The service was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfy, just needed a little tlc in places.

Great quiet place to stay in with spacious rooms. I enjoyed how we had a kitchenette available as well as our own small living room space. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location and walkable distance to pretty much everything in Port Douglas...especially the marina. I would definitely stay here again!

'It was fairly quiet. The studio apartments mean that there are no families with noisy children in the pool. We found the kitchen area very small and hard to use but the bathroom was nice and big. An easy walk to the beach makes it ideal.

close walking distance to restaurants pubs and shops no need for a car also very near to Four Mile beach,having said that the room needs updating( furniture tv, sofa etc), bed was very soft ,theres hardly room to move in the shower no storage in bathroom ie no vanity unit.Pool was lovely and outdoor area very nice and well kept.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Location is perfect. Service and amenities were great. Room and laundry were clean. Pool area was lovely. Only downsides were we found our beds very uncomfortable and the birds and kids walking past during the night were very loud but eat plugs did solve this issue. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Definitely our go to place in PD having stayed there many times over the years. The property is brilliantly located opposite parkland and very close to all the Port Douglas has to offer. Approximately 10 minute walk to the beach and around the same to the marina and even less to the main shopping strip in Macrossan St. A great spot.

Reservation and payments processed as advertised. Welcome from hosts excellent. Room and grounds very well maintained. Our tree tops balcony was good however if you want a better view the pool view room would be worth the extra cost.

Central location at a reasonable price. Rooms were a little old fashioned but comfortable. Big pool was nice however chlorine a little strong at times. Good car parking and an easy walk to main shops and restaurants. Limited room servicing was ok but small charges for extra towels etc seemed petty. Overall good value for money. Hosts were helpful and friendly

Location was excellent, able to walk around the town, supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants as well as marina and beach. Apartment had everything we needed and hosts were hospitable. The complex had a nice ambiance and the grounds were immaculate. Beautiful vegetation and swimming pool in lovely setting. We had an apartment with a pool view which I would definitely recommend. It was worth the extra cost.
