The staff is the best thing about the hotel. Parking is cut throat if you haven’t booked directly through the hotel. 10 minutes to park/check in or automatic PCN which l was told is pretty difficult to overturn. The toilet was damaged, called it in but it wasn’t fixed till we checked out the next day! The photographs do not match the actual hotel in real life. Otherwise fit for purpose for short visits.

Hotel is fine, we arrived back at 11.30pm and the bar was closed to residents. It was a Christmas event and we couldnt get a drink before going to bed.

During my stay, on possibly the hottest day of the year the air conditioning was out of service. The primary lift from reception was also u/s. The food was good and I was particularly well looked after by Luke in the bar/restaurant. I've booked again for next week.

Very busy hotel with functions on all weekend. No air conditioning working , but a fan was in the room as a help. Lots of Weddings guests and celebrations going on, nice to seem them all having a great time. Food was very good and the bar service was fine , good staff everywhere. Parking cost extra per 24 hours. Overall very good and would use again.

Room was very small considering the price charged also had to deal with a rude member of staff who was very unprofessional and I had to involve management Also you had to pay £10 per day to park onsite if booked through a 3rd party overhaul quite a frustrating stay Would not return

Lovely clean hotel with staff readily available to help. Not your regular budget hotel in terms of what you get for your money. It's similar in price to other budget hotels but you get more quality. Only downside for me was I had to pay extra for parking because I didn't book directly with the hotel and parking could be a nightmare if there are functions happening in the hotel.

Clean and tidy hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Some parts showing a bit of wear and tear but not too bad at all. Definitely, in my opinion, a step up from the likes of Premier Inn - its a proper hotel with bar and lounge area, car park and some gardens

The cleaning could be better. Molds in the bathroom ceiling and tile grout. Shower curtain in the bathroom. A shower screen will suffice not a curtain. The bathroom was bit dirty.

Stayed for 1 night for business. The room was comfortable and clean, but the wider hotel was very tired. There were stains on the hall carpets etc. Staff were lovely and the receptionist didn't yell out my room number which is a bonus as a single female traveller.

Staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and cheerful. Room seen better days , could have been cleaner, shower room smelt of Urine, large step up from room to shower room, very dangerous especially for someone 76 years old as we are . Breakfast ok , fried eggs hard as they were standing there for some time . Plenty of choice and again staff brilliant. Extra charge for breakfast. Music coming from somewhere at 6 am , don’t know if it was dining room as we were over it . Tried to show photos of the step but review wouldn’t accept them ???

Poor stay, this is a tired hotel and felt like limited care is taken on day to day running. The carpets looked unclean throughout, doors were all heavy fire doors with chipped paint, multiple rickety lifts, the bathroom wasn’t that clean in our room, no air con so we had been left an ancient fan, room was like an oven in the night, TV didn’t work properly the signal was bad so very jumpy, parking we had to pay for on top of what I thought was quite a high cost for what it is, would not return.

On arrival i was gestured by a member of staff towards a party that were setting up for an event on the assumption that i was with them. In my opinion i can only presume this is because of my colour. Staff should be more professional and approach each guest as an individual as i found this offensive. My room was a few doors away from members of this party who carried on the party in there room until the early hours of the morning and i didnt get to sleep until 5am. The lift in the main reception was not working all weekend , this service is not acceptable for the money i paid

This property has unfortunately seen better days. The whole property was tired and in desperate need of a face lift. We had an Executive room but one of the lights in the bathroom didn't work and the other lights in there, were so dim it was impossible to do your make-up. The restaurante chairs had holes and the cutlery drawers were broken making it difficult for staff to get cutlery.. Staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Bedroom looked recently renovated and clean. Bathroom not updated but was only for one night. Sofa bed unfortunately not comfortable, both kids ended up in our bed, I went to sleep on it then instantly squeezed back into the king bed. It’s a big events hotel so expect parties and noise! Staff lovely, breakfast had something for everyone. Lots of parking although this is extra.

One night stay for a business meeting at Queens Hospital, Romford. Ideal location. Car park quite small in the front and lucky to get a space, but unsure if there was overflow parking. Parking is a car parking app which can be sorted at reception upon arrival. Check in fine and friendly reception staff. I was allocated room 314 which was 2 lift rides and a light walk away. Lifts very small so a few trips needed if a family with bags! No air con on the room but a large fan was provided and the windows opened which ventilated well. Happy with the room. Lots of amenities in the room and nice bathroom with large shower. Unfortunately I had issues with the tv which I reported. The service guy was very friendly but it was late and he wanted to go get a spare part…. I said don’t worry about it! Restaurant and bar staff very friendly and food was quick to serve and very tasty! Had a great night sleep, quiet and room was cool. Would be useful to have a few more complimentary items like shower cap etc as seen at other similar chain hotels but no biggie. Unable to get a printed invoice upon check out as booked through here. Very happy with my stay and will return if in the area again in the future! Many thanks!

Very friendly staff, good clean rooms. But the one person allocated to reception for our wedding party was overwhelmed, through no fault of his own, by the number of guests arriving at the same time.

Awful would not give me recept for full value of 103 only 83 not impressed and manager not helpful When you claim back I will be £20 out of pocket NEVER had this with any other booking over about 10 years

Room was very small considering the price charged also had to deal with a rude member of staff who was very unprofessional and I had to involve management Also you had to pay £10 per day to park onsite if booked through a 3rd party overhaul quite a frustrating stay Would not return

EPEC (both of you) were absolutely amazing when I met them on arrival. So kind, helpful, informative and could not do enough to accommodate me and my family. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated by the amazing cleaning ladies - thank you. Rajesh, thank you for managing such a great team downstairs in the Breakfast hall, all ladies especially Mama, were fantastic and put a smile on my face. I shall return again that’s for sure with my family. It’ll be like returning to see friends and family. Best regards The Taak family (Raj)

It was perfect for our needs, in a good location and very comfortable. Good breakfast. I think on booking it could have more clear that parking at the property is extra, but I think that is Expedia's issue, not the hotel (book direct and parking is free!)

It is a nice place. Since we traveled by car, we were looking for a hotel outside of the low/ultra low emission zone of London. A 5 minutes walk to the bus and another 5 minutes later you are at the Woodford station which is part of the Center Line.

One night stay for a business meeting at Queens Hospital, Romford. Ideal location. Car park quite small in the front and lucky to get a space, but unsure if there was overflow parking. Parking is a car parking app which can be sorted at reception upon arrival. Check in fine and friendly reception staff. I was allocated room 314 which was 2 lift rides and a light walk away. Lifts very small so a few trips needed if a family with bags! No air con on the room but a large fan was provided and the windows opened which ventilated well. Happy with the room. Lots of amenities in the room and nice bathroom with large shower. Unfortunately I had issues with the tv which I reported. The service guy was very friendly but it was late and he wanted to go get a spare part…. I said don’t worry about it! Restaurant and bar staff very friendly and food was quick to serve and very tasty! Had a great night sleep, quiet and room was cool. Would be useful to have a few more complimentary items like shower cap etc as seen at other similar chain hotels but no biggie. Unable to get a printed invoice upon check out as booked through here. Very happy with my stay and will return if in the area again in the future! Many thanks!

We only stayed one night. Reception gave excellent service, bar staff couldn’t do enough for us, breakfast staff were helpful and accessible. Breakfast was very good. Room clean and bed comfortable. Private parking was a bonus.

I was staying at the hotel due attending LOSC star man awards. Had a great time with a delicious 3 course meal and followed by some lovely wine.

Hotel is fine, we arrived back at 11.30pm and the bar was closed to residents. It was a Christmas event and we couldnt get a drink before going to bed.

We attended an evening event here on 28th September. The only good point of our room was that the bed was comfortable. We paid £200 for a superior room. The kettle didn’t work and the tv didn’t work, reception said they would send up a kettle and sort the tv, after 2 phone calls and over an hour wait (I’d also offered to go and collect it), it took a visit to reception for the kettle to finally be sent to our room. The tv was ignored. The bathroom shower riser rails were broken in both the bath and the tiny cubicle shower (it actually fell off the wall when I turned it on and soaked the wall and door and bathroom floor and me still fully clothed)! I decided to use the bath shower and hold it up to me instead but the tap only had scalding boiling water and no cold water coming out. Mostly the staff were friendly and smiley but inadequately trained to problem solve efficiently. We had paid a lot of money for our drinks to be ready for our guests upon arrival at the function, but they were not ready and neither were the bottles of wine we’d pre-ordered on our tables at the function and we had to remind staff again and they took a long time to bring them out. Our event was really lovely but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor ever stay there again.

Food is excellent. Highly recommend. The room was good. My only complaint was the bed. It was uncomfortable. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Staff were great.

The hotel has a old charm , a beautiful back patio, it is clean. The stuff is professional. You can walk to the Summer Cafe on the little strip or to the magic Claybury park. The food is okay but, with a little effort in ingredients sourcing and creativity, could be better. The burger is enjoyable , the pizza: a disaster. Overall good or very good for the price

Hotel was fine, clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly l. Don’t think it needs to be anymore than £100 a night though. It’s about a 15 mins walk to nearest underground station. You have to pay for parking at the hotel but I guess this is a commitment thing now. A pleasant day, basic but did the job!

Hotel front desk, room cleaning and breakfast area all needs training. We had arguments everywhere from asking for a fan in the room or an omelette or room service. I think because they have been working here for so long that they don’t care about any customer service anymore.

NO AIRCON IN ANY ROOM-During a heatwave, just 2 small electric bedside fans: the room was almost unbearable; restrictors on the windows limited the opening to a couple of inches. No operating instructions for the in-room Safe; no instructions for the combined Overhead and hand held shower, which both shared the same on/off Knob; I stayed 2 nights attending to my daughters wedding nearby, my wife left to return home after the first night. I was charged car parking fees for using the hotels own on-site space. Confusingly, corridors had Air con running???. The safety catch of the room door, being undersized, was not secure and open to potential intruders, . All in all, a very unsatisfactory stay
