The Garland was great! From the friendly staff to the excellent location. My only issue was the lack of working EV charging stations. There were plenty available but only one that actually worked. We chose the hotel in part for the convenience of charging the car and weren’t always lucky enough to beat others to the only working station. Maybe next time.

Very beautiful property. The front yard is a great restaurant! Two issues we had: 1. The pool side food service was incredibly slow. We waited almost 2 hours to get a pizza and nachos! 2. Our rooms air conditioning was also not great. It was hot out the day/night we stayed and we had the ac on the whole time but it never really got cold and comfortable so it was hard for us to sleep. Everything else I would give 5 stars! Really nice staff

Great LA vibe in this family friendly hotel. We chose it for its proximity to Universal Studios and it was perfect, with a shuttle service there and back every hour. The hotel itself is chic and fun, with a pool (albeit a bit cold) and hot tubs and movie screenings at night. The family room was just about ok in size but with lots of storage and shelf space. The beds were on the soft side for us, and on two of the nights we were there there were events in the ballroom with loud music right under our balcony until 10pm. However we were given the option to move to another room but since there were no additional events after that we stayed where we were and it was fine. Parking is charged an additional $39 per night (plus tax) - a significant but sadly unavoidable cost worth noting.

We loved this stay. Convenient to all attractions and Burbank airport. Only con to this property was the pool size, there was very little supervision at the pool area (on the parents there and the staff) the pool was often over crowded and not suitable for smaller children due to all the rough housing and kids jumping in.

What a fun, funky, retro hotel filled with things to do and welcoming staff. The pool is great, had an adult only hot tub, and shows movies nightly. There are many tables to enjoy a drink from the bar in the courtyard, a nice restaurant that made great coffee, and comfy rooms. Highway side was slightly noise but nothing overwhelming. There is a free shuttle to Universal running every hour 8am-10pm. We would 100% stay here again. Also loads of Blink EV charges but not complementary.

The Garland has a cool vibe about it which we enjoyed. It's right near Burbank which was nice. I liked the hotel and the amenities. However, for the price I was paying for the hotel room, I was irritated that I had to pay $39 a day to park my car. If that's the case build it into the price of the room so I know that before I book the room.

Great stay, family friendly. The shuttle is really helpful. Service is great, just ask and they will provide. Microwave in the room is available upon request, $10 each night. Pool is nice with movie in the evening. Street food cart every evening, corn on the cob is my favorite. Restaurant is also nice, buffet is availabe with fee but ala carte is also an option. I had early check in and they were able to provide me room, they also gave me 1hour complimentary extension to check out to give time to pack. Overall, it was a perfect stay.

The rooms were nice and clean. The plumbing in one of the rooms had a bit of an odour and the sliding door needed an adjustment. Overall, the rooms are not luxurious but they are clean, crisp and cheerful for a nice family vacation. We enjoyed the e atmosphere in the courtyard and main restaurant. Breakfasts were excellent.

Only real complaint was that flush of the next room's toilet could be heard in my room even if I closed bathroom door. That was ok but woke me up if very late at night or in the night. Room was always cleaned well and staff friendly. Have stayed there before and would stay again..

We stayed in room 407. 1. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable to sleep. Need to be replaced. 2. Veranda door not working properly and hard to close. 3. When the heating unit came on, it made too much noise. 4. Need a night light. The hanging light had a dimmer switch, but it didn't work as to dim the light as a night light.

Service both in the hotel and the restaurant were excellent. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. However, the patio doors don’t close completely, so I heard the highway noise all night. The noise wasn’t super loud, it was just constant.

Nice update of a dated property while still maintaining the vibes from the past. Room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. Very close to the freeway so noise is the biggest issue even with the sound deadening sliding door on the small balcony.

We just returned from a nine night stay at the garland. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The restaurant, bar, courtyard and pool areas are gorgeous. The staff is excellent (special shout out to David, Angel and Aidan). The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the wi-fi was often painfully slow and spotty and the air conditioning in the room was erratic as well. Otherwise a perfect place to stay and we would definitely go back when visiting the area again.

We love the Garland! It is our go to place when we are in the area. The pool area and bar are always amazing. Our favorite spot to chill and relax before our plans. Staff is always amazing but this time around David helped us check in and he was fantastic. We loved him! Our only drawback this time around we stayed in a suite, and it was a bit disappointing. It was much smaller than we expected, and the bathroom situation was odd. The bed was pretty firm but that's personal preference. However, neither of those things will stop us from staying here. We'll be back soon!

Disappointing end to an otherwise good stay. When I checked in, I was told I’d receive a $25 food credit per night and discounted parking. At checkout, the manager informed me those perks didn’t apply because I booked through Expedia. I understand there can be limitations with third-party bookings, but I was quoted those benefits clearly at the front desk — and that’s what I expected. To make matters more confusing, they offered me the food credit as I was checking out, when I obviously couldn’t use it. We were traveling as a group and had five rooms total, so I would’ve appreciated a bit more flexibility or follow-through. A small gesture would’ve gone a long way.

When we arrived, we were told our reservation had been cancelled and we had no room. After an hour of chatting with Expedia agent and some help, the hotel discovered their mistake and got us into our room. Also, the patio door was problematic and we had to have maintenance fix it while we were out. All this being said, I loved the atmosphere and restraint attached to the facilities. All staff were polite and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Honestly, I was very excited to stay at this property for years. I purchased a 2 night VIP package that was supposed to include a free bottle of champagne and a free room upgrade. When the assistant manager checked me into my room, I was sure to mention all the perks that I was excited about. Only to be told there are no upgrades available, nor champagne. I then went into the room and it was definitely one of their aged rooms. It was not updated at all, there were lashes on the wall that the previous guest placed, the shower was not a shower- a sprinkler with a dirty tub, and the door and floors had water damage. I just felt so dirty after that first night. I went to the front desk with photos and a lovely lady tried her best to help me. She switched rooms for me and what do you know, upon entering the room at 9AM (which supposedly wasn’t available the night before) it was a drastic difference. It had a stand in shower and wasn’t dirty. I notified the assistant manager who is very happy about her title, and she basically didn’t care. I had no problems with service from any of the staff besides her. I wasn’t really feeling acknowledged after she is the one that put me in that third party room knowing the status was far from a VIP experience. I didn’t want to leave a review. But to have 4.5 stars, someone has to tell the truth. Will I stay here again? Probably not.

Honestly, I was very excited to stay at this property for years. I purchased a 2 night VIP package that was supposed to include a free bottle of champagne and a free room upgrade. When the assistant manager checked me into my room, I was sure to mention all the perks that I was excited about. Only to be told there are no upgrades available, nor champagne. I then went into the room and it was definitely one of their aged rooms. It was not updated at all, there were lashes on the wall that the previous guest placed, the shower was not a shower- a sprinkler with a dirty tub, and the door and floors had water damage. I just felt so dirty after that first night. I went to the front desk with photos and a lovely lady tried her best to help me. She switched rooms for me and what do you know, upon entering the room at 9AM (which supposedly wasn’t available the night before) it was a drastic difference. It had a stand in shower and wasn’t dirty. I notified the assistant manager who is very happy about her title, and she basically didn’t care. I had no problems with service from any of the staff besides her. Bartender was rude and told us he was the only one there to serve us for their happy hour and proceeded to tell us how to pay between drinks and food before we even ordered. Drinks were terrible. Cheese board had 6 slices of cheese and smeared dates with toasted ciabatta bread. It was sparce and cost $20. They closed happy hour 15 minutes early. Ran out of dough for flatbreads.

Nice hotel rooms at the back can be noise when balcony doors open as a freeway runs at the back of the hotel, good if your going to universal hotel has its own free shuttle bus runs on the hour, close to the subway to get to Hollywood bulavard, parking is $40 a day. Large supermarket 10 min walk from hotel.

We loved the property. The restaurant attached was wonderful. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. My only complaint was that we had a room facing the highway and the traffic noise was loud. At the same time, it was conveniently located just off the highway,.so it made traveling easy. The shuttle to Universal and City Walk was also nice.

Bus to Universal Studios is excellent. The drivers go out of their way to make sure everyone gets to the theme park despite big demand. Friendly staff and amazing restaurant. Only wish we’d had more time to enjoy it all.

I love the vibe of this hotel. Everything is pretty much perfect. Pillows could be better and the water wasn’t quite hot enough this time, but our stay is always great. The staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant and food you get by the pool is great. Great drinks. I love the gift shop and we go in it every time for drinks and snacks. Pool is awesome. You don’t even have to leave, they have pretty much everything you need right there.

Very beautiful property. The front yard is a great restaurant! Two issues we had: 1. The pool side food service was incredibly slow. We waited almost 2 hours to get a pizza and nachos! 2. Our rooms air conditioning was also not great. It was hot out the day/night we stayed and we had the ac on the whole time but it never really got cold and comfortable so it was hard for us to sleep. Everything else I would give 5 stars! Really nice staff

I love the retro vibe and welcoming ambiance. The complimentary shuttle to Universal Studios is very convenient. The heated pool was a great spot to relax and the staff are friendly. Also, don’t miss the Front Yard restaurant- everything on the menu was delicious!

Staff is always super friendly. Great drinks. Love the street tacos. Always like the decor. Love that the Front Porch is right there and it’s rare that we have to wait very long. It’s my “go to” hotel when we go to Universal Studios.

Great stay, family friendly. The shuttle is really helpful. Service is great, just ask and they will provide. Microwave in the room is available upon request, $10 each night. Pool is nice with movie in the evening. Street food cart every evening, corn on the cob is my favorite. Restaurant is also nice, buffet is availabe with fee but ala carte is also an option. I had early check in and they were able to provide me room, they also gave me 1hour complimentary extension to check out to give time to pack. Overall, it was a perfect stay.

Our room was spotless, spacious and really comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, with a large shower and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The small fridge was also really handy for keeping drinks and snacks chilled. The pool area was fantastic and very well managed, with the number of guests being monitored to make sure it never felt overcrowded. We also ate at the bar a couple of times and thought the food was excellent, with good portions and very reasonable prices. The trolley to Universal runs every hour and made getting to the park an absolute breeze. The hotel is also really well located for exploring Hollywood and the wider LA area. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, which really added to the experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend The Garland. We’d happily stay here again!

Great hotel on the whole. Lovely pool area and amenities but the rooms were not quite as impressive. We unfortunately got a room on the side of the freeway and the noise was quite loud, which did dampen our enjoyment and we couldn’t really sit out on the balcony. I also put some swimwear out on the chairs on the balcony and received a pretty patronising letter about “ruining the aesthetic”, the message printed on the door just said not to hang on the rails so they might want to make the rule clearer rather than telling people off afterwards. These rooms had a literal view of the car park and freeway so not sure what aesthetic I was ruining.

El hotel nos ha parecido genial, teniendo en cuenta los precios de Los Ángeles, aún más. Es de estética setentera pero las habitaciones son bonitas y renovadas y el baño también. El personal es super amable. Hay servicio de parking por el que pagas 50 USD/ día. Tienen piscina, muy agradable también. Aunque no es un hotel céntrico, está bien situado para la gente que va a visitar Estudios Universal (de hecho hay un shuttle gratuito a cada hora desde el hotel de ida y de vuelta). Nosotros no visitamos los estudios, pero como para hacer cualquier visita en Los Ángeles se necesita coche, pues el hotel nos pareció que estaba en buena zona y con buena localización. El buffet de adultos en el desayuno son 25 USD, aunque hay opciones más baratas por menos dinero (ejemplo: desayuno continental por 16 USD). Hemos quedado súper contentos!
