City View Hotel Stratford

No Tea in rooms, no lift to the room and room very musky. Not good at all

It's ok for a low priced hotel, but on checkout I noticed many fire doors propped open with fire extinguishers. Not sure if this is common practice or perhaps due to cleaning or something, but certainly needs addressing

I had the unfortunate luck of booking this "hotel" for 2 nights because I had a meeting and work engagements to attend. On arrival the staff were pleasant enough. I arrived at 3pm (check in is 2pm onwards). I was handed a key to my room after paying £107 and the walk up the dusty, creaky stairs should have confirmed my suspicions but I walked on hopeful. Upon unlocking the door, I saw an unmade bed, beer bottles and the stench of cigarettes. I couldn't believe that I had to stay here (tears were creeping out of my eyes). Frustrated I marched downstairs with video evidence of the state of the room and proceeded to ask for a clean room to which the man at reception checked his system and proclaimed that his system said the room is "perfectly clean" so I showed him my video and that's when a new key was provided for a "better" room. The second room had a made bed but that’s as far as it went. There was a fridge in the corner and a wet room that looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a decade. I was mortified. I decided I needed to get myself ready and exit as soon as possible because i'd run late for the meetings I had. When I got back I was nervous about sleeping in the bedding so I laid all my clothes on the covers and pillow & used a blanket I always carry to sleep on. The next day I woke up with loads of bumps on my skin despite the measures I'd taken to protect myself. Overall, this is by far the worst place I've ever stayed at. Avoid this like place like the plague. Awful.

We picked this place for price and location for an event at London Stadium. The hotel is extremely basic, but for what we paid and for what we needed (somewhere to sleep), it was excellent Room was clean, if tired. The shower pressure was excellent and the fan was welcome in the heat. Would happily return for any events in the local area

Cleanliness is a serious issue at this property. Our room and bathroom were not clean, and the bathroom bin hadn't even been emptied. The room lock was jammed, making it difficult to use. Additionally, the room was much smaller than depicted in the photos.

Room was nothing like the photos. Stains on the bed. Kettle was provided. No cups or drinks. TV remote did not work correctly. Bed was rickety. Both room and bathroom was dirty. Struggled to get hot water from the shower.

Beg bugs bit the hell out of me , no toilet paper or change of towels . Good location wise but if you love yourself spend some extra money on a proper place

Stayed for 5 nights. After a couple of nights noticed I had couple of bits thought nothing of it but after the 4th night had multiple across my body. Definitely bed bugs. I recommend do not stay here

Nice hotel, good customer service but the room I lodged in has no table nor chair. A folding table, attached to the wall would have make big positive score, if space is an issue. Weldone.

Lumpy bed, no bedside table or reading lamp/light. Noisy fridge buzzing away all night. Noisy residents across the hall up all night talking and singing. Dire view from window fire escapes rooftops and general ugliness. Good shower.

Avoid unless you are desperate. Overpriced for what you get. London or not I’d expect value for money. Room was tiny, en suite was a joke, curtains really tatty, heater worked but was in poor condition. No tea or coffee as in pictures. Tv was poor, no wardrobe just tatty wooden shelf come rail. Would never stay here again.☹️

This place is affordable, and you get what you pay for. That said, the water was hot, wifi was strong, staff was kind and breakfast served. Its a 10 min walk to two subway lines and a bus station across the street. Very diverse and safe neighborhood

It was dirty. TV wasnt working. Old towels. Rude receptionist

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The service was consistently poor, and staff seemed uninterested in helping with even basic requests, plus they were rude. The room was not properly cleaned, and facilities were either broken or badly maintained. What was advertised online did not match the reality at all. It was a very dirty hotel and the atmosphere was awful. For the price charged, the quality was far below expectations. It has taken such a long time to even write a review because i haven't fully recovered from the tragic mess. Its fair to ask for full refund.

Prompt service and attending to request

I attended to the hotel room around 9pm and checked in, the front has some nice sofas but as soon as entered the staircase it was dirty, smelly, me and my friend both couldn't breath and when i went to room it was even worse(its too small with dirty tea table, bed, baby freeze, toilet shower, bad smell were coming in by window from outside so it was a breathless few minutes then i decided to speak to the receptionist to find if there's any better solution but they only reffered me to contact with expedia Hotels.com for refund and complains. After couple of time discussions with them we then had to leave the hotel around 9:30-45pm by leaving the key to them as we were breathless for terrible smell all around the hotel. Room was terribly unlivable and unhealthy conditions as you can see some picture bellow. I therefor would like to request you to pay my refund as its not the the place and conditions which i saw on advertise. I believes its been unfairly wasted my time and efforts while i couldn't stay for their poor room environment and had to leave without staying and i know how difficult situation iv been since i found the room is inappropriate. I would be be grateful for your kind consideration to refund my booking fee as its a wronv advert i can say. Thanks

Everything very bad from location to state of room

We booked the hotel last minute and we payed a reasonable price for the service. The room was clean and comfy , not a lot but but If you look for a cost effective room in East I highly recommend it. I would happily come back and stay again. Thank you

It needs variety foods for breakfast especially during cold weather.
