We were given a lovely comfortable and spotless room with a balcony area overlooking gardens. The owners are excellent hosts and the location is very peaceful and just a short drive from Teignmouth, Shaldon & the main road between Exeter and Plymouth.

A beautifully kept Inn, with a friendly and efficient team running the hotel, bar and restaurant. Lots of parking spaces, the room was spacious and clean with a great view.

Lovely experience! Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious and attractive and we had our own little balcony, which was a bonus. Great gardens for a drink or two and lots of parking on site. Delicious evening meal, which was prompt and very hot. The staff were really pleasant and friendly, adding to an enjoyable stop over. They even provided us with some car screen wash when requested. Would definitely come back, as this was faultless. Thanks!

We booked the family room as we took our 2 grandsons with us (10 & 7) and having them in a connecting bedroom instead of in the same bedroom was a huge advantage. Plus in proper beds instead of a pull out settee. All beds were very comfortable. We also like the fact that our water, tea, biscuits were restocked on a daily basis. The breakfast choice was very good and cooked to order, and we also had dinner in one night and the service and quality of food was again excellent. Although we go to Teignmouth frequently this was the first time we'd stayed at The Cockhaven Arms, as we didn't even know about them as tucked away, but we will certainly be staying there again.

Fantastic family room, ideal for our teenage daughter who had her own room. Comfortable beds and very quiet. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking and lovely beer garden all in a great location. Great breakfast.

The room was very spacious. Massive TV. Very large en-suite. Immaculately clean. Food was really tasty and hot and well cooked. Staff were very helpful, even gave us a larger room than the one we pre-booked because it was vacant when we arrived. Car parking was directly outside our room and did not cost. Overall if I could give 6 stars then I would. Of all the places we stayed in the last 25 years I would rate this in the top 3. Many thanks and look forward to staying again if we ever get within 100 miles.

Despite a warm welcome when I arrived, I was disappointed by the level of service. My room was small and very cramped but at least the bed was comfortable. I was annoyed that a tube of shower gel had been left by a previous guest and not removed from the bathroom. You start to question the quality of the housekeeping! Dinner was both good and bad. I ordered scallops as a starter that were so burnt all you could taste was the charring. Despite complaining, nothing was done and I asked the waiter later about the chef’s reaction - he confessed to not having told the chef! My wild sea bass fillet was superb. Breakfast was adequate but didn’t meet up to expectations. The waiter was surly and you felt he was doing you a favour by being there. The Cockhaven Arms could be a nice hotel. It has the feeling of a Scottish shooting lodge but it just misses the point when it comes to service.

Great stay, very dog friendly, which is a top priority for us.. Staff were lovely and food was of a good standard. We were B&B but had evening meal each evening in the conservatory, that was light and airy. Enjoyed our stay and will stay again when we visit the area in the future, however we were in a standard room (9) and it was enough room for the bed and just enough room to walk around! In-laws hit the jackpot (room 8) their bathroom was bigger than our room/ensuite together (similar price paid).

We had a very pleasent stay at the hotel. When we arrived, they gave us an upgraded room with a beautifull balcony and view at the town and river. The room looked just renovated and had a beautifull design. Good and large bed, clean rooms. The restaurant was very good and personal very friendly.

Ample parking available; check-in was unproblematic and staff were friendly. Our room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with a large double-headed shower. We cannot really find anything to criticise. The restaurant was the definite highlight. Our evening meal was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Serving staff were very attentive. We only regret that we could not stay longer.

Very warm welcome and they were happy for us the leave the car here earlier so we could spend time with our friends who lived locally on a restricted road. Nothing was too much trouble.

We have stayed at the Cockhaven a number of times previously so it was our 'go to' hotel when booking a few days away with friends. As always we weren't disappointed with the rooms, service and food. High praise to the younger members of restaurant staff who offered great service with a polite and friendly manner.

The pub was ok but the staff were not engaging at all. Just rude.Not just one but nearly all. The management seriously need to do staff training. We would definitely not go back

Great pub with rooms with everything we needed. If you are lucky, as we were, you will get magnificent views over the Teign estuary. We didn't get to eat with them in the evening but two locals informed us it was their go to place for an evening meal.

Having lived in Bishopsteignton, the Cockhaven is ideally situated outside busy Newton Abbot, which is unfortunately run down, walking distance to Teignmouth and Shaldon. I deal location. Fresh towels, water bottles each day, great breakfast. This is a winner and hope they keep their prices reasonable. It was busy which is great to see in a small village.

Short spring break. An excellent pub/hotel in a village outside of Teignmouth. Bus stop nearby with a regular service to Teignmouth and Newton Abbot. Nice room well appointed. Great breakfast served freshly cooked. Staff could not be faulted. Would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful place, lovely views of the Teign estuary and situated in an historic area within easy reach, by car, of Teignmouth and Dawlish. Very comfortable room with every convenience and a fantastic breakfast.

We were given a lovely comfortable and spotless room with a balcony area overlooking gardens. The owners are excellent hosts and the location is very peaceful and just a short drive from Teignmouth, Shaldon & the main road between Exeter and Plymouth.

Great find near Teignmouth, nice view of the estuary from our room, comfy bed. Tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast plenty for us.

Ample parking available; check-in was unproblematic and staff were friendly. Our room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with a large double-headed shower. We cannot really find anything to criticise. The restaurant was the definite highlight. Our evening meal was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Serving staff were very attentive. We only regret that we could not stay longer.

The property was good for a one night stay, the room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the Sunday roast was very disappointing. Actually it was the worst I’ve ever had so definitely do not recommend this.

I wasn't sure as it was a pub/hotel but the room was clean and comfy with a massive shower. Staff were really friendly and efficient and the food was out of this world and reasonably priced. They catered for me as a coeliac with no problems

Beautiful place for a weekend away. The team is very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent. We definitely enjoyed our time there and we will be back!

We particularly enjoyed our stay at the cockhaven arms. The rooms were very good for families, the beds were very comfortable and the fixtures and fittings were higher grade. The only disappointment I would say is the breakfast. I ordered a full English breakfast which was overcooked and I felt the portion side was small. My children ordered waffles which were overcooked and a bit dry. No freshly squeezed juices were available and alternative milk was not available. The fruit was tinned fruit and not fresh. If you pay premium I expect premium.

Lovely experience! Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious and attractive and we had our own little balcony, which was a bonus. Great gardens for a drink or two and lots of parking on site. Delicious evening meal, which was prompt and very hot. The staff were really pleasant and friendly, adding to an enjoyable stop over. They even provided us with some car screen wash when requested. Would definitely come back, as this was faultless. Thanks!

Despite a warm welcome when I arrived, I was disappointed by the level of service. My room was small and very cramped but at least the bed was comfortable. I was annoyed that a tube of shower gel had been left by a previous guest and not removed from the bathroom. You start to question the quality of the housekeeping! Dinner was both good and bad. I ordered scallops as a starter that were so burnt all you could taste was the charring. Despite complaining, nothing was done and I asked the waiter later about the chef’s reaction - he confessed to not having told the chef! My wild sea bass fillet was superb. Breakfast was adequate but didn’t meet up to expectations. The waiter was surly and you felt he was doing you a favour by being there. The Cockhaven Arms could be a nice hotel. It has the feeling of a Scottish shooting lodge but it just misses the point when it comes to service.

Næste gang jeg kommer i det område, vil jeg bo her! Det er ikke for stort, har en hyggelig gårdhave, stor parkeringsplads, skøn restaurant. Værtinden er til stede og jeg må sige, hun er utrolig effektiv og meget venlig. Værelset var stort og rart med en fin altan ud mod gårdhaven.

Despite living in the village 50yrs ago, going to the primary school and getting married at the local church 21 yrs ago, even playing for the village football club in the 90’s, I’d never set foot in the Cockhaven Manor Hotel before. So booking it for our 21st wedding anniversary break was a choice well made. The staff are so friendly and helpful, from helping with our potential late arrival on a Thursday evening, to adding an extra night because we enjoyed it so much, they couldn’t have been more accommodating ! The room we had was beautifully laid out with a lovely en-suite, an amazing shower and plenty of room for our dog crate ! They really are so helpful and accepting of their dog guests with no extra charge ! The included breakfast menu is top quality, with so much to choose from and a delight to come down too ! We decided to dine there on one of our three evenings and I have to say the evening menu is just as lovely. Again with so much to choose from and great value for money. The fresh bread and oils pre starter , the best we’ve ever had ! The views from the conservatory to the hills and in our room a view to the river just add to the charm of this beautifully kept little gem. The bar area kept to the old style pub feel, just real cosy and inviting, we loved it ! If life allows , we’d look no further than the Cockhaven for any future visits back to the village of my very young life. One of our nicest weekends away ! Thank you ALL at the Cockhaven !🙏
