Lovely staff, very friendly in all departments. Beautiful dinner and lovely buffet breakfast. This property is recently undergoing some renovations and even though we loved it as it is it’s going to be very special when finished. Right on the beach, spectacular sunsets.

Was a great location, right on the waterfront with views out to the Heads. The lighting around the complex was terrible - including nothing being lit up at the roadside/driveway, so if you were trying to find it in the dark, it would be difficult. Prices in the restaurant were steep for what was on offer. Overall the complex was just looking a little tired and dated - but it met our basic needs.

Top choice for Omapere/Opononi stay. Large establishment with beachfront and courtyard units. We appreciated being upgraded to the Beachfront. Idyllic sitting in our patio area enjoying the seaview. Nice Bar and Restaurant with a deck to enjoy the good weather and sunsets. Plenty of free parking. Helpful staff

Superior beachfront king room. The room was tired, the nice balcony furniture that was there a few months ago has been replaced with lightweight tables & chairs, the pool had slimey stuff in the corners.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The beach in front is lovely with nice beach walks and forest walks nearby. The room was a nice size with a balcony and a comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. The hotel needs maintenance. You could see in many areas, from wood steps to the restaurant deteriorating to the pool needing repainting. The chairs in the room we very uncomfortable. You needed to roll out of them to the floor to get up. Breakfast was served but only until 9 am, which is too early when you are on vacation. There were no "Do not disturb" signs, so we made our own after the first day.

Staff were lovely.Room cleanliness was great. There was a bit of chaos around the grounds due to renovations but this was overlooked due to the great location. Views over the harbour & out to sea were beautiful and restful.

Pros: Bed was comfortable. View fantastic. Dining was excellent. Cons: BIG con, and one I couldn't avoid; the bathroom had NOT been cleaned! There was still excrement up the sides of the toilet, hair all over the floor and shower, and the sink was clogged! Overall frankly, disgusting! Management when informed the next morning, offered nothing but an apology. (it was too late the night before, we were too tired and hungry and had to let it go)

This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. We booked a two bedroom villa and were given a single studio instead, with no explanation and no apology. Only after repeatedly pushing did they offer a so called solution, which involved splitting us into two separate rooms far apart, one of them with no view at all. They advertise WiFi in every room. Our room had no WiFi at all. We reported this issue more than 10 times during our stay. Each time we were told someone would be sent to fix it. Nobody ever showed up. I had to rely entirely on prepaid mobile data just to check work and could not upload anything the entire stay. Cleanliness was extremely poor. The room clearly had not been properly cleaned before our arrival, nor during the stay. The floors were so dirty that you could not walk barefoot. It felt neglected and poorly maintained. The property also advertises a gym, which does not exist. The photos online are misleading. The only positive is the location and view, but that does not come close to compensating for the lack of basic services, broken promises, and poor management. No accountability, no ownership of issues, and no compensation offered. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The view & sounding beach area is fantastic. Beautiful spot to wake up to! Our room needed a really good vacuum, especially behind bed side tables etc. The outdoor furniture on our deck was really dirty as well as the tiles. Nothing that a water blast wouldn't fix. The shower curtain is well passed it's used by date. Only place for it is the bin. Daily room service doesn't include making beds, which we found strange. Overall, it's all very tired looking. The restaurant had lovely food & great service. If some general maintenance was done the property & rooms would be so much better & a delight to stay at

When we arrived the lady at the reception told us that we would have got an upgrade. First we were happy about that. But when we came into the room we asked ourselves how a room without an upgrade would have been. The room was so dirty - everywhere spider webs, spiders and mosquitoes. In the bathroom the plaster has flaked off the ceiling. In the room there was only one chair. The room was dark because there was a big plant in front of the window. For the breakfast either we had to pay 36 dollars per person, what we didn't do. To have breakfast in the room was nearly impossible, because there was no cutlery and plates at all. The balcony was so small that there only fits one small table and two chairs. And around us was everything under construction. We were looking forward to a comfortable nice place but what we found was a place where we were happy, when we could leave. Regarding the price for it it was absolutely not appropriate. The only good things were the beds - they were comfortable and the dinner in the restaurant with a nice meal an a beautiful view.

Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. The bathroom did not have a fan to expel the moist air, which causes problems on the ceiling. In addition to that, the joints in the shower could use some extended cleaning or replacement. Overall good (8/10) but some room for improvement.

Sorry, the beds were nice enough, but the walls had unfinished patch repairs all over, the internet didn't work so the TV with built in Netflix didnt work. Said kitchen closed 8:30pm, we went to get a small bite at 8:10pm and it was all closed up. I don't believe it was worth the price we paid for it. but it has potential.

Beautiful views for the waterfront 2 bedroom suite. Large rooms, good stone materials but the layout was clumsy. The AC unit was in the living room, but there were no air vents in the master bedroom. The master bedroom had a sink in the middle of the room off to the side, which made entry to the separate shower and separate toilet, awkward. These rooms used to have a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and stove top. Now just a small refrigerator and tea kettle.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite… Fantastic Master Bedroom, Living Room 2 showers and baths. Impeccably decorated. Large, large shower enclosure. The managers (husband and wife) running the place were great. Views out the windows and sliding glass door were straight at the beach and bay ( nobody or thing blocked any of the views

Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. The bathroom did not have a fan to expel the moist air, which causes problems on the ceiling. In addition to that, the joints in the shower could use some extended cleaning or replacement. Overall good (8/10) but some room for improvement.

Stunning location & beautiful facilities although some area's of the facilities are old, you can see they are making improvements. Our room had stunning beach front views but we had a beautiful Pohutukawa tree blocking some of that, so next time I'll ask for a room on bottom floor. Sorry, the beds were nice enough, but the walls had unfinished patch repairs all over, the internet didn't work so the TV with built in Netflix didnt work. Said kitchen closed 8:30pm, we went to get a small bite at 8:10pm and it was all closed up. I don't believe it was worth the price we paid for it. but it has potential.

Our stay was a complete disaster. A staff member took our room which we'd booked weeks before, and gave us a much inferior room, that the air conditioner wasnt going. Obviously this place has no policy in place to keep a room that has had the booking confirmed. Beware. They will give your booking to someone else, and give you something much inferior. I will NEVER go there again, it was all so upsetting.

This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. We booked a two bedroom villa and were given a single studio instead, with no explanation and no apology. Only after repeatedly pushing did they offer a so called solution, which involved splitting us into two separate rooms far apart, one of them with no view at all. They advertise WiFi in every room. Our room had no WiFi at all. We reported this issue more than 10 times during our stay. Each time we were told someone would be sent to fix it. Nobody ever showed up. I had to rely entirely on prepaid mobile data just to check work and could not upload anything the entire stay. Cleanliness was extremely poor. The room clearly had not been properly cleaned before our arrival, nor during the stay. The floors were so dirty that you could not walk barefoot. It felt neglected and poorly maintained. The property also advertises a gym, which does not exist. The photos online are misleading. The only positive is the location and view, but that does not come close to compensating for the lack of basic services, broken promises, and poor management. No accountability, no ownership of issues, and no compensation offered. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Location its all about location. Superb views of the Hokianga harbour, the golden sands and the friendly atmosphere of the staff from the moment of arrival until departure. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Very satisfied with the whole experience which made the weekend very enjoyable.

Hi team, we could see you're busy updating things. We were disappointed to find out everything was running at half mast AFTER the booking was paid for and finalised (through Expedia site). There were a couple of things in our room that were the reason for our scores. There was a tissue on the floor behind the barhroom door and the ranchslider couldn't lick properly. We had run away for a break from the farm (important to us - and probably many others you might not be aware of) ... although the kai was yum, it was stink we didn't jnow beforehand (as mentioned above) that the selection would be so limited. The Cafe across the road you recommended at checkin and in your confirmation email was pretty average, with hardly any options yesterday arvo (to the pount we didn't even consider it for breakfast this morning). Also, just for your advantage, i was ready to work through the lust of cocktails last night, and although your bar man was lovely and friendly, even they were average - watery as. Im sorry to be harsh, but we were left feeling really dissapointed. Good luck with the renos

Fantastic view even though it rained and at times the sea entrance was misty it was still fascinating. Dinner was superb with the most delicious seafood chowder served. A special treat was being next to a family group who sang beautifully and a man in the group played the guitar. Thank you Omapere Sands, a very enjoyable night's stay. On arrival, we were kindly upgraded. We spent 3 nights in a beautiful 2 bedroom newly renovated unit right on the water front with amazing sea views. Amenities were spectacular. 5 star. Dinner was amazing at the restaurant. Daily house keeping was superb. Staff were very friendly. We love this place so much. This is our 4th time. We will definitely be back again!
