This has to be one of our favourite hotels we have stayed. So friendly every member of staff goes the extra mile all so smiley cheerful and so happy in their work. Pam Tracy Hollie Keith Are a great team The rooms are beautiful clean well Maintained. The restaurant and Bar areas are the same food is 5 star and always a good lunch evening menu food aways so fresh and hot breakfast is also worth having The other thing is it wonderfully dog friendly

The staff are simply the best and they took good care of us and our pet May. We had dinner on the evening and it was gorgeous. Highly recommend this hotel and the location is brilliant

We managed to park round back as parking is at a premium in the town it seems. Parking wardens everywhere. The hotel staff were very friendly, we ate in the hotel the first night and it was good. Great town to visit

Excellent hotel, dining and bar. The food was great, staff helpful and our room was really nice with a cute welcome pack for our dog. The location is perfect for exploring Helmsley as well as easy access to the Cleveland way. Recommended.

Just stayed for one night as a birthday celebration. The room was ready early & we were able to check in about 12 noon which was nice. Enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and warm with everything we needed. We loved the little welcome pack for our dog. Will definately stay again

The bar was quaint, warm and snug. The restaurant wasn't as expected, food was pretty poor at dinner and breakfast, but luckily there are many cafes around to offer breakfasts and meals. Our room was 20, really small and dark, tv in a tiny alcove in the wall, not secured. Wardrobe was a tiny cupboard in the wall, with a few dusty shelves, and an iron and ironing board taking up the space, only able to hang a few items, no drawers. Kettle and coffee machine on window sill with no sockets nearby, had to put on floor to use, dangerous. View from the 2 tiny windows was the roof of the kitchen, with large vents and noise from kitchen vents. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the manager was aware but made no reference to it, a small gesture goes a long way and would've made a big impression on us, would not choose to stay here again.

We can't say enough about this place. Superb room, excellent breakfast with lots of options. All the staff are very professional and very helpful. Food in the restaurant is also very good. Free parking is right behind the hotel which is a good touch. 10/10 for The Feathers and would highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely spacious room in the cottage. Everything was catered for. Options for breakfast and dinner. We had a lovely sitting outside area which was handy on one of the hottest days. We parked in the long stay car park but then the lady on reception informed us that after 5pm the street was quieter and we managed to park our car nearby.

We spent 3 nights at the Feathers Hotel in one of its Deluxe Double Rooms. The hotel location is right on the Market square so, in the centre of Helmsley with easy access to all of the great things Helmsley has to offer. Our room, located at the back of the main building was, comfortable, clean and well equipped, with some unexpected personal touches, such as sleep spray, handwritten welcome note. The staff were awesome professional, friendly and happy to help with anything we needed and the Feathers has a great restaurant to cap a really enjoyable long weekend stay.

Our room was very spacious with very high standard facilities including an amazing bathroom. Lovely and quiet. We enjoyed our breakfast and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Helmsley is a very pretty market town. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is centrally located with a small car park at the back. We stayed in an annexe room which exceeded our expectations. It was large with a very comfortable bed. The good sized bathroom had a bath and a shower cubicle which were well stocked with lovely range of toiletries along with dressing gowns and slippers. The welcome tray consisted of a variety of teas, hot chocolate, sugar, coffee bags and also an espresso machine. The milk was fresh served on arrival in a chiller flasks. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast was of a high standard. The only downside is if you want to pay by cash for your meal they won't give you any change so ensure you carry plenty of small change and they automatically add 10% service charge which they will remove if you ask them to. Other than that small thing the hotel is definitely worth a visit and we will be making a return visit in the near future

I would love to have given 5 stars for this property but 2 things let it down. 1. One member of staff who served breakfast was quite rude. All the other staff deserved 10/10 2. The room was quite noisy at night, being at the front of the hotel.

Really enjoyable stay in a charming market town setting. The professionalism, courtesy and friendliness of the staff was a massive plus for us and something that is sadly all too rare in many of the places we stay. The room was very comfortable although the bizarre health and safety reasons for not being provided with an a rod to open the velux window in the bathroom is a classic example of "rules mad" UK. Not the fault of the staff or hotel I guess.

Moving beer barrels at 7am = not great. However, the staff are absolutely fantastic. They are very friendly, helpful, have a great sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast were very good. We were staying in the annexe but not far to run in the rain!! Thank you for the fizz for our celebration and a great stay 50 years after the first time we visited.

I would love to have given 5 stars for this property but 2 things let it down. 1. One member of staff who served breakfast was quite rude. All the other staff deserved 10/10 2. The room was quite noisy at night, being at the front of the hotel.

Really enjoyable stay in a charming market town setting. The professionalism, courtesy and friendliness of the staff was a massive plus for us and something that is sadly all too rare in many of the places we stay. The room was very comfortable although the bizarre health and safety reasons for not being provided with an a rod to open the velux window in the bathroom is a classic example of "rules mad" UK. Not the fault of the staff or hotel I guess.

Our room was very spacious with very high standard facilities including an amazing bathroom. Lovely and quiet. We enjoyed our breakfast and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Helmsley is a very pretty market town. Highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Had some lovely touches in the rooms with a homely vibe. Right in the centre of the beautiful village of Helmsley. Lovely picturesque place with some lovely shops. Very friendly and inviting village. Would definitely visit village and hotel again. Expedia apparently messed up booking and we were given a double room instead of a twin. The hotel were not able to accommodate what we had booked, but was grateful of the single room offered, but did put a damper on the break. Just be wary when booking through Expedia, as hotel tells me this has happened before and check with hotel once booked.

Excellent hotel, dining and bar. The food was great, staff helpful and our room was really nice with a cute welcome pack for our dog. The location is perfect for exploring Helmsley as well as easy access to the Cleveland way. Recommended.

Location is everything and the Feathers is right in the heart of the very lovely Helmsley. Room was very comfortable in an annex at the back of the property. The breakfast was very good, the chef can poach an egg properly which can often be a challenge. Only down side is limited parking, although there are options for free parking at the end of the main square.

Lovely hotel in a great area. Nice friendly staff and breakfast was decent. We stayed in a classic double room as that was the only one available however it was definitely adequate, the bed was very comfy.

Friendly welcome on arrival. Great facilities in room, tea, coffee, Espresso machine etc. Really comfy superking bed, spotlessly clean. Breakfast on both days was fantastic, full English on day one and Eggs Benedict on day two, both were delicious, good service also.

The reviews indicated it was top notch but it really isn’t. Friendly staff but tired bedrooms. Restaurant food very disappointing (it’s a chain) and breakfast really poor - reheated bacon, a cheap sausage, a spoonful of dried up beans, half a piece of black pudding and poor quality orange juice. Not quite what we’d expected for a high end market town. Great location though in the market square. Wish we’d opted for an independent restaurant for our evening meal as the heavily battered fish was awful.

Moving beer barrels at 7am = not great. However, the staff are absolutely fantastic. They are very friendly, helpful, have a great sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast were very good. We were staying in the annexe but not far to run in the rain!! Thank you for the fizz for our celebration and a great stay 50 years after the first time we visited.

The bar was quaint, warm and snug. The restaurant wasn't as expected, food was pretty poor at dinner and breakfast, but luckily there are many cafes around to offer breakfasts and meals. Our room was 20, really small and dark, tv in a tiny alcove in the wall, not secured. Wardrobe was a tiny cupboard in the wall, with a few dusty shelves, and an iron and ironing board taking up the space, only able to hang a few items, no drawers. Kettle and coffee machine on window sill with no sockets nearby, had to put on floor to use, dangerous. View from the 2 tiny windows was the roof of the kitchen, with large vents and noise from kitchen vents. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the manager was aware but made no reference to it, a small gesture goes a long way and would've made a big impression on us, would not choose to stay here again.

A lovely hotel right in the middle of the pretty market town of Helmsley so very convenient for shops, bars and restaurants and close to the castle. Breakfast excellent and having dined in ths restaurant in the evening also some good food choices, if not necessarily the cheapest. The room was of a very high standard, very comfortable and spacious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had an excellent stay in the hotel right from our arrival staff were able to help and explain about parking etc. We had an absolutely fantastic room 33 with our own outdoor space to enjoy a drink or a coffee / tea in the morning. Large bed was amazing after our day driving and the beautiful roll top bath with plenty of hot water. The restaurant and bar area are friendly spacious with an excellent selection of food options. A fantastic stay we will definitely return to this hotel and have no problem with recommending a stay at this hotel to anyone.
