We enjoyed a 2 night stay in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms (Room 5). The room was furnished to a high standard with a modern bathroom and excellent walk-in shower. The staff were uniformly friendly and efficient with a good selection of beers and spirits at the bar. We ate dinner one night and the food was well cooked and of a very good quality. Our only minor ‘gripe’ was being unable to get a drink at the bar after returning from a meal out in Arundel at 9.40pm but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay!
We enjoyed a 2 night stay in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms (Room 5). The room was furnished to a high standard with a modern bathroom and excellent walk-in shower. The staff were uniformly friendly and efficient with a good selection of beers and spirits at the bar. We ate dinner one night and the food was well cooked and of a very good quality. Our only minor ‘gripe’ was being unable to get a drink at the bar after returning from a meal out in Arundel at 9.40pm but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Conveniently positioned opposite the Cathedral. Limited parking behind the pub. But on-road parking outside the pub itself. Nicely decorated rooms. Extremely helpful, and friendly staff. Only a short walk to facilities shops/resaurants etc (albeit uphill on the return). Good food at the pub itself. Excellent continental breakfast selection

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location and parking is excellent. It was an extremely hot weekend, but even so, having fans available for the rooms would have been good. Rooms face pub garden/courtyard....something to be aware of if you want total peace and quiet. That said very quiet at overnight.

Had a lovely comfortable room, clean and tidy & well decorated Bit frustrating that the pub this is set within closed at 6 on day of arrival & wasnt open other 2 days, with no prior notice. There was no TV available in the room and builders started early. However the service from Kerry, Katie and Dave was superb and accommodated us as best as possible during their refurb (which looks great, by the way!) Would love to stay again if in the area.

The location was excellent in relation to closeness to the village. The accommodation could have been better as we had no hot water in the shower form the Thursday that we arrived till the Saturday before we left after the whole shower got replaced. The furniture had a covering of mildew/damp/mould and really needed attention although it was fit for purpose. The pub was comfortable and staff were polite and the breakfast was very nice.

Spacious, clean and modern room with excellent facilities. Rooms are well separated from public house so no noise. More like a hotel. Short walk to Arundel centre. Great welcome with proactive comms. We are frequent travellers to Arundel and would highly recommend the St Mary's Gate as excellent quality and value.

St Marys Gate Inn looked extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming in the photo's online. Believe me when I say, it is much much more when you arrive. Welcomed by Lola on arrival (we were much earlier than expected) we were shown a table for Sunday lunch straight away (Food is excellent both flavours and presentation). The room was exceptional, huge main area, immaculate bathroom, tea and separate coffee facilities in the room, two huge windows. Bed was very comfortable, just a very relaxing pleasant place to be. Definitely recommended and I would definitely stay there again, hopefully for longer.

Arundel is a lovely town to visit. The accommodation was in a great location.The pub is lovely. The staff are great and we enjoyed our breakfast. Our only problems are that the room had dog hairs which was off putting and the shower water was tepid. The pub is closed on Mondays so there was no breakfast. This was disappointing because we were not informed, nor was it factored in the price.

Nice little area but unfortunately the room was quite cold for saying it was summer. The shower curtain was mouldy and wasn’t meant for that shower cubicle so got in the way or leaked water everywhere. Purchased the room due to having a coffee machine in the room however this wasn’t in the room.

There would appear to be a plumbing issue, was in one of the 3 rooms located outside the main building and everytime someone went to the toilet or run a tap or shower, there was a lot of banging, obviously the plumbing needs repaired. The shower was not the cleanest either, could do with a good scrub. There were cigarette ends lying around the door.

Pros: Location, price, excellent breakfast, quiet and all great. It was also dog friendly. I had room 1, with a queen 4 poster bed. Free parking was right outside the door. It was a hot summer and there is no air conditioning, the windows open a few inches only, but we were able to borrow a tower fan. Con’s: Bathroom was a little awkward, with no place to put on my make up or toiletries bag at the sink. Tiny shower stall (I’m 5’4”, 110 lbs). No outlets in the bathroom. No table outside the bathroom near the large mirror to put hair dryer or makeup either. Flat pillows and rather scratchy comforter cover.

Nice quiet accommodation in a lovely part of Arundel. Staff really friendly and helpful. The shower in one of the rooms was a little weak and without air conditioning the rooms were very hot during the heatwave we have just had. But overall good accommodation and would definetly book again.

Very nice old pub by the Cathedral. Nice room a very nice breakfast. Staff where nice and helpful when needed. Only small downside was that the TV in the room didn’t work and the room WiFi was a bit hit and miss unless you sat in the pub.

Convenient location, let down by the noisy plumbing which meant we needed earplugs for a decent nights sleep. Very difficult to set the shower temperature which was acknowledged by a sign on the en-suite door, which of course you don’t see until you arrive. Breakfast quality variable - first day was cooked to perfection, 2nd day not so good (bacon & mushrooms undercooked, sausage over cooked).

The staff were wonderful and so helpful. We had requested an early check in as going to a wedding and this has been sorted and our room was ready when we arrived. The weekend we were here there was a festival in Arundel so parking was a nightmare but we had a space at St Mary's within half an hour. Slept very well the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great and very welcome and lots of fresh coffee on tap. Overall a great place to stay and would certainly come back again.

Great experience here. The new staff team really looked after me, from when I arrived until I left. I was greeted by a very polite and professional young member of staff who got me checked in quickly and showed me where the rooms were. The atmosphere in the pub was great so I went straight back in for a drink! Really good breakfast made fresh. I got some local tips and advice on places to visit too from the staff that all worked out perfectly! Thank you very much St Marys Gate!

Very disappointed as rooms not cleaned daily, beds not made properly. We had been told in advance there was no food available including breakfast, but the place was closed most of the time and felt like there was no care or thought for any guests. 3 rooms booked for 3 nights.

I booked this hotel as it had a restaurant but told on arrival it was closed. Also tried to get Internet but after putting in the code there was no Internet available. Breakfast was far too late had to be in a meeting at 9 doesn't start until 9. No body there when I checked out at 8.30 so had to just post the key through the letterbox but was very clean and comfortable so I would just advise don't book if you're on a business trip. If you're on holiday it will be great. Also after booking please advise no restaurant as I really didn't want to go and find dinner thanks

Spacious, clean and modern room with excellent facilities. Rooms are well separated from public house so no noise. More like a hotel. Short walk to Arundel centre. Great welcome with proactive comms. We are frequent travellers to Arundel and would highly recommend the St Mary's Gate as excellent quality and value.

Conveniently positioned opposite the Cathedral. Limited parking behind the pub. But on-road parking outside the pub itself. Nicely decorated rooms. Extremely helpful, and friendly staff. Only a short walk to facilities shops/resaurants etc (albeit uphill on the return). Good food at the pub itself. Excellent continental breakfast selection

Lovely Hotel with a great location - Just far enough away from the high street to be quiet but 2 mins walk to shops and restaurants. Bar has a nice local feel with a great mix of locals and visitors. Staff super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back .

Great location, a few minutes walk into town and quiet in the evening. Easy parking. Friendly service and great breakfast.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Warm, friendly, and efficient check-in. Parking. Room very spacious, comfortable, quiet with snart TV. Great pub and the location is perfect. The cooked breakfast, especially the sausage, was delicious.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms (Room 5). The room was furnished to a high standard with a modern bathroom and excellent walk-in shower. The staff were uniformly friendly and efficient with a good selection of beers and spirits at the bar. We ate dinner one night and the food was well cooked and of a very good quality. Our only minor ‘gripe’ was being unable to get a drink at the bar after returning from a meal out in Arundel at 9.40pm but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Good place to stay for exploring Arundel. I would have given more stars but unfortunately there was no breakfast. This was meant to be included, but no-one around in the morning. No response to me subsequent message either

Really good find and I would certainly return if in the area. Rooms were a good size with all amenities, food in the pub was excellent and all home cooked including the pickles and relish. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would mention is that the bathroom floor was very cold, being tiled and ground floor, however that was the only criticism I could make of a very good stay.

Very disappointed as rooms not cleaned daily, beds not made properly. We had been told in advance there was no food available including breakfast, but the place was closed most of the time and felt like there was no care or thought for any guests. 3 rooms booked for 3 nights.

Great welcome upon arrival. Room very clean and rather quaint, recently decorated. Bathroom well appointed great pressure from shower. Bar and restaurant just perfect food fabulous breakfast yo die for. Thank you to all staff

Arundel is a lovely town to visit. The accommodation was in a great location.The pub is lovely. The staff are great and we enjoyed our breakfast. Our only problems are that the room had dog hairs which was off putting and the shower water was tepid. The pub is closed on Mondays so there was no breakfast. This was disappointing because we were not informed, nor was it factored in the price.

Camere in pub storico con ristorante di buon livello. Ambiente con atmosfera e con stile. Colazione ottima (compresa) codi come la cena (opzionale). Location bella , proprio di fronte alla cattedrale di Arundel. Assolutamente consigliato.

Our main issue with our bedroom was that it was adjacent to the bar courtyard area and our window was directly overlooked by an outside table. There was constant noise, shrieking and loud conversations outside our (closed) window until past 10pm, which was annoying and hard to ignore. Maybe improved sound-proofing might be possible?

Ryddig, rent og behagelig rom med god plass. Selv om bygget også fungerer som bar, så var det stille til kl. 22:30. Personalet var hjelpsomme og hyggelige, og lot oss også ha bagasjen til oppbevaring båre før og etter oppholdet. Sentral og fin lokasjon, med gåavstand til alle antikvitets-butikker, puber, slottet og andre severdigheter. Anbefaler alle å ta en tur inn i kirken like ved, samt bryggeriet med matservering rett overfor.
