Warm welcome when we arrived, shown to our room and given general information on our stay, emergency contact, breakfast times etc. Restaurant pub area was warm and inviting, drinks value for money. Opted not to have breakfast as had early start the following day. Room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable and both was a generous size. And will be more than happy to stay again when in the area.

Fantastic pub / bar / restaurant with accommodation. Good parking area with friendly and helpful staff. The room I had was faultless, clean and spacious. Free and fast WiFi, with several USB charging sockets in the room too. My only real disappointment was hearing the kitchen had a fault and couldn't serve hot food. Furthermore to this I overheard staff talking and saying the Area Manager was phoned about the issue and simply complained about taking a phone call on Saturday evening! (Disgusting from a person such a position). I hope somebody picked up on his attitude and the necessary action taken. I would recommend it here and would definitely stay again.

Stayed here a few times. It’s pretty no nonsense and great value. A minor quibble this stay was intermittent water running from some kind of header tank in or above my room. This caused me to wake up a few times. The bed is very comfortable though and you don’t want to get out of it!! The location is ideal for access to the M5 and the property has a great sized car park for a large van. Had food which on all occasions has been well cooked, tasty and good value for money. Staff are very pleasant and helpful, you also get shown to your room and a few things get explained to you. Will definitely stay again when working in the area.

Stayed three nights. Ate in restaurant for 3x breakfast and 1x dinner. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and are the hotel's biggest asset. The food and bar service were very good and decent value. Only gripe here is the tables always seem sticky? Seen this before were the cleaners used reacts with the table varnish. That's a shame as it doesn't feel welcoming. The room (5) was OK but not great. The bed was good and all linens nice and clean. The bathroom was a disappointment though. Flaking paint, rusty radiator and a sticky floor, plus the toilet cistern wasn't properly attached to the wall. Biggest issue was the creaking floor above the room. Really noisy at night whenever anyone moved around in the room above. Also, lots of road noise as the window doesn't seal well. Overall, an OK experience. We'd visit again for the staff service and food but would certainly hope bathrooms had been improved.

Shower cubicle was dirty and had dirt and dust marks all the way round. Not very much shower gel, family of 3 and only given x1 hand towel and x1 bath towel, 2 cups and 2 glasses. The noise from the room above was horrendous, the foot steps vibrated right through.

Had a fabulous 2 night stay, spotlessly clean & cosy room with the biggest, comfiest bed weve ever had .. most amazing sleep! Tea, coffee & biscuits all provided & beautiful white fluffy towels! Big bathroom with waterfall shower. Lovely atmosphere in bar area, gorgeous food and the warmest welcome from Val & her team. Cant wait to go back next summer.

This is the worst place i have ever stayed and i feel cheated that it was rated above 4 when i booked. The dining area was dirty, the room was dirty, outside was dirty. The room ws more like a shack. Terrible.

Been here a few times for food with my mum, taking her out the care home , Didn’t know they did rooms till I found on here .nice big rooms, bed is ok if not a on the soft side for me … Overall quiet , staff were great, really nice breakfast too .

I’m glad I only stayed here one night. The room smelt musty and felt damp. There was bits of what looked like puff pastry on the floor. The bathroom was very small and very dated. Plus side the towels were large and clean. You can hear everything from the room above and at one point I thought they were going to come through the ceiling. Very expensive for what you get.

Liked all of it except no tv remote and asked staff and eas told it had probably been laundered, so no TV Also could feel the split in the bed.

The rooms are really quiet and nice, we arrived just after the kitchen was closed but was more than happy to make us a sandwich. The food was really nice when we did have breakfast and dinner in the restaurant.

It has only been 2 months since my last stay here and it was as good as ever. Staff as always were really friendly and make you feel at home. I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening meal as well as a great breakfast. A decent night's sleep set me up for the day and I look forward to coming back here.

Hotel was great. Staff so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately hotels. Com didn’t tell us there is no night porter at this hotel and hotels. Com were aware of this. Luckily I leased directly with hotel to sort which they were so helpful with.

When we checked in the girl on reception was a little abrupt and not that friendly. she didn't advise of any breakfast times, wifi codes...nothing really. The room itself was fairly clean...along with a few squashed bugs on the wall. It did smell rather damp, especially in the bathroom. The shower had no adjustment and you literally had to step into it no matter what the temperature, or having spraying water all over the floor. There wasn't a shower cap, but there was soap. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Very convenient to M5 on our journey north. Good restaurant on site. Cheerful and effective service. BUT the inn is very close to a major road and our ground floor room faced the car park and was subject to all night traffic noise.

Great place to stay very reasonable price wise, if you don’t have your own transport it’s not the best for access to taxi’s etc but that’s not the fault of the venue just the remote location. There is a train station 10 mins drive away but not easy to access by foot.

Average rooms that need some updating/refurbishing. Tired looking decor. Great service from all staff - friendly and approachable. Good location for stop off point straight off the motorway.

The lady that dealt with me was really friendly. I was late arriving and the kitchen was closed and the lovely lady made me a sandwich from the kitchen.

Been here a few times for food with my mum, taking her out the care home , Didn’t know they did rooms till I found on here .nice big rooms, bed is ok if not a on the soft side for me … Overall quiet , staff were great, really nice breakfast too .

It has only been 2 months since my last stay here and it was as good as ever. Staff as always were really friendly and make you feel at home. I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening meal as well as a great breakfast. A decent night's sleep set me up for the day and I look forward to coming back here.

Fantastic pub / bar / restaurant with accommodation. Good parking area with friendly and helpful staff. The room I had was faultless, clean and spacious. Free and fast WiFi, with several USB charging sockets in the room too. My only real disappointment was hearing the kitchen had a fault and couldn't serve hot food. Furthermore to this I overheard staff talking and saying the Area Manager was phoned about the issue and simply complained about taking a phone call on Saturday evening! (Disgusting from a person such a position). I hope somebody picked up on his attitude and the necessary action taken. I would recommend it here and would definitely stay again.

Very friendly from the moment I walked in - Sam was lovely. Unfortunately a broken down fried meant a limited menu but lovely veggie Chilli. Great breakfast. A bit noisy from upstairs overnight but overall good stay

Room ok, not cleaned for the 5 days stay plus the carpets need a clean. Can hear people in upstairs room as floorboards creak badly but ok during the night. Bed was comfortable & no noise which gave a good nights sleep. Staff were excellent, on the ball & always smiling. Lot of the bar menu’s unavailable after 8pm but cooked well. Fish & chips was the best with a lovely large portion of cod. Parking was great apart from the spaces are normally full around 6pm so had to park & wait for a space to become available, well lit at night. Easy access of the M5. Shame about the room & the cleaning but stay was fine

I have stayed here before and I use The Waterloo Arms every time I'm down this way . The room is always clean and fresh feeling. Stayed during the May heatwave, so I could of done with being supplied with a fan. Yes I should of asked but luckily I carry one with me. There is only recommendation I have for the establishment. When staying on the ground floor, all you can hear is the loose paving slabs as people walk over them. Because of the amount of noise, I would say all are loose. Food from the pub is excellent.
