Hotel is clean and staff is very helpful. Room has a roof top view but was not available due to construction. Be ready to walk with luggage in cobble stone streets for about two blocks since taxis are not allowed in the plaza area. Is very central and close to most amenities. Restaurant not available on site and most don’t open until after 10:00 am. Hotel is labeled with a small sign and was hard to find in the shopping center. First thing you see is a door entry with steep and uneven steps up to the second floor to the reception area. They kept our luggage until check in time (3:00 pm) . Room was not noisy from outside noises, even if it’s in front of the main plaza. We had to climb another set of stairs with luggage to our 3rd floor room. Room was clean as well as restroom but shower is slippery and does not have any bars to grab to should you slip. Hotel is still under construction so noise started around 8:00 am. There was dust from Sheetrock sanded and workers were working in stairwell and roof top. Electricity was interrupted twice during our 4 day stay. This was a very nice boutique-type hotel in an outstanding location. A surprise highlight was the rooftop patio overlooking the town square. Spectacular viewing. The only downside to our stay was the structure of our room #101. The door opens into a step up room. This leaves a wheel-well type of hole at the door, around which one had to manoeuvre to get to the bathroom. The hole was not marked with hazard markings to highlight the potential problem area. My wife fell down but was not injured significantly. However, she could have easily hit her head against the 8 inch rise of the hole. There needs to be safety markings around the hazard area. We used valet parking that proved to be a problem upon departure when it took over an hour to get the vehicle to us. We're still not sure what the problem was.

Excellent location. Walking distance of everything. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. However, we were not aware that the hotel is currently under construction. Although we did not spend most of the day at the hotel, it was an inconvenience to go in and out while the workers were busy.

muy mal la habitacion, cobijas y sabanas manchadas, piso sucio, todo realmente sucio cabellos en toda las cobijas, y almohadas, dentro de las cobijas se encontro cabellos de partes intimas daba nauseas, la persona de front desk cambio todo, pero lo mas terrible su poliza, si ensuciabas las cobijas y fundas de almohamadas te hiban a dar un sobre cargo de limpieza, el pizo terrible sin limpiar, no nos banamos , nos fuimos sucios de ese hotel, creo no recomendarlo, ni en el futuro nunca estar ahi, lastima de ser uno del centro por eso lo escojimos . tengo fotos pero no puedo subirlos.

As soon as we arrived I realized that the hotel was nothing like the pictures, NOTHING! There was some work being done on it, but that was not the problem. It was so run down and then we got the keys to our rooms…that was the worst part! The rooms were sooooooo old and dingy. The bedspreads were full of stains, the carpet was old and dirty, the seating areas also were run down and full of stains. There was no way we could stay the night there! We spoke with the receptionist and advised her that these conditions were not acceptable and she offered to move us to their sister hotel just around the corner. We left and that hotel was ok. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Por el precio supera las expectativas, justo en el centro, habitación súper limpia, aire acondicionado, pantalla grande, moderna y elegante, solo uno que otro detallito que deberian reparar, pero no afecta en nada la experiencia, muy recomendable.

The property convenient to the sight seeing. Needs up keep from housekeeping. The air conditioning was leaking. Someone’s toothpaste left behind the sink questionable cleaning. Everything else was great! The staff friendly and willing to help with the stairs.

Great location, the staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, however the window in our room faced the rooftop patio and with the lights on you could see in our room. Other than that I would stay here again.

This property was exactly what my parents and I needed. Walkable, accessible, and in the heart of San Miguel. You can tell the property is old but I think it gave it charm. There is no chair/desk and very few outlets. Not an issue for me, but can be for others. The room we had was in the back and it wasn’t loud, I could only hear the church bell faintly. There’s complimentary coffee in the morning and each staff member was helpful. I would book again. Thank you!

Nice hotel in a very central location. Friendly stuff, glad ro help. Very Big room. The only negative is that yhe only window had view in the reception and it should be closed, if I wanted my privacy.

The hotel is in a great location right on the main plaza. The king bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The main issue was there is no window or fresh air at all in the room (room 102). Other rooms have external windows, so recommend asking for a different room if you are offered 102. Also no fridge, kettle etc but they do offer free coffee in the foyer. A beautiful town worth visiting.

I love the location. Walkable to many shops and restaurants. The room was ok. There were not any plug ins for our phones. Only 2 in the bathroom. Wood be nice to have some near the bed.

The hotel is right in the heart of San Miguel next to the cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel. But besides that the hotel is horrible. 1st there is no sing of the hotel name on the outside. It is label crisol not hotel del portal. 1500 pesos deposit if case you brake something. Room is super small. 5 power outlets total one didn’t work. Tv was not connected to cable or power. Hangers super tall if you are 6 feet tall they might work for you. I am 5’ 9” tall barely reached the hangers. Two bed room but tv wasn’t visible from the second bed. My windows were next to reception. So I was hable to hear everything till midnight and same thing after 7 am the next day. No wifi was provided to me at all. Bathroom was super small, when you sit on toilet your knees almost hit the wall. No space near sink to place toothbrush or lotion. Worst the bathroom door drag on the floor. So every time you need to use the bathroom at middle of night. I’ll wake up all my family member. Stay away from this hotel. Not worth it. Expedia says Junior suite. When you get there you get a standard room. Picture of property are not real at least talking about the Jr suite.

It is right across from the church and in front of the main plaza, expect lots of noise, the hotel rooms are not soundproof, bring good quality silicone earplugs if you want to sleep, and make sure your room has a functioning AC. The staff was helpful and I felt safe.

Al principio no fue nada agradable, me hicieron enojar, ya que yo había contratado mi hospedaje en el hotel portal San Miguel de Allende y los del hotel me llevar a otro hotel, el cual la habitación tenía olores a caño en el baño y a humedad ya atestaba mojada la alfombra. Yo me moleste mucho ya que no quería hospedarme ahí, me debatieron que no había habitaciones disponibles y más me enoje ya que yo había reservado con Expidia desde el el 3 de Manzo y mi reservación la tenía para el 12 de junio 2025, al ver mi molestia por fin se decidieron a checar y con tantos peros por fin me dieron la habitación que había contratado, en el hotel que yo había pagado. No tendría porque estar pasando tanto disgusto ya que contraté con meses de anticipación y liquidado desde marzo mi estancia. Nota: además hacen sentir a uno que le están haciendo un favor por darle a uno una habitación que según ellos es de mejor categoría y cuando te das cuenta es pura mentira es de menos calidad la habitación que me estaban dando). No se dejen impresionar exije tu derecho solamente.
Al principio no fue nada agradable, me hicieron enojar, ya que yo había contratado mi hospedaje en el hotel portal San Miguel de Allende y los del hotel me llevar a otro hotel, el cual la habitación tenía olores a caño en el baño y a humedad ya atestaba mojada la alfombra. Do not stay at this hotel. Sure, it’s loud because it is right on the square which some people I imagine won’t mind. So if your ok with loud noise during the night, then maybe the place is ok. What was worst for me, is they kept moving me around. They moved me from room to room which was unpleasant for a week stay; and lastly, they moved me into a hotel a half block away that you probably could get for 50 dollars a night if you booked on your own. I’m definately not booking here ever again.

I especially liked and appreciated the staff especially Pedro Rincon. He went above and beyond helping me with anything I needed including helping me with tranportation and dining. I will stay here again!

We loved this place! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and really convenient as it was next to the plaza and many restaurants. It has a very beautiful view of the parish (“parroquia”) from the rooftop. They always have water bottles and coffee for guests.

Nice small hotel. Right in front of the main plaza and the main cathedral. Great location. Minor inconvenience is that the area is not for automobiles. So you have to park far out. But they have a parking service. Somewhat pricy. Rooms are rather small but well kept. The shower seems to behave erratically and one may be left without water in the middle of the shower. Other than that all is ok!! Employees are very patient and nice.

It is right across from the church and in front of the main plaza, expect lots of noise, the hotel rooms are not soundproof, bring good quality silicone earplugs if you want to sleep, and make sure your room has a functioning AC. The staff was helpful and I felt safe.

Hotel is clean and staff is very helpful. Room has a roof top view but was not available due to construction. Be ready to walk with luggage in cobble stone streets for about two blocks since taxis are not allowed in the plaza area. Is very central and close to most amenities. Restaurant not available on site and most don’t open until after 10:00 am. Hotel is labeled with a small sign and was hard to find in the shopping center. First thing you see is a door entry with steep and uneven steps up to the second floor to the reception area. They kept our luggage until check in time (3:00 pm) . Room was not noisy from outside noises, even if it’s in front of the main plaza. We had to climb another set of stairs with luggage to our 3rd floor room. Room was clean as well as restroom but shower is slippery and does not have any bars to grab to should you slip. Hotel is still under construction so noise started around 8:00 am. There was dust from Sheetrock sanded and workers were working in stairwell and roof top. Electricity was interrupted twice during our 4 day stay. The first one lasted for about 30 to 40 minutes and the second one around 10 to 15 minutes. It was a good thing the room had a sky light because there was no emergency lighting available.

This property was exactly what my parents and I needed. Walkable, accessible, and in the heart of San Miguel. You can tell the property is old but I think it gave it charm. There is no chair/desk and very few outlets. Not an issue for me, but can be for others. The room we had was in the back and it wasn’t loud, I could only hear the church bell faintly. There’s complimentary coffee in the morning and each staff member was helpful. I would book again. Thank you!

No cuenta con parking y el dizque valet se aparece a las quinientas y en una facha que dudamos en entregarle el automóvil...esto se tiene que hacer a una cuadra del hotel y nadie te apoya con el equipaje....Jamás se mencionó en la página que la entrada se reduce a una empinada y peligrosa escalera y hay que aventársela con todo y equipaje pues no hay quien te reciba ...ya llegas al supuesto lobby y te encuentras con una alfombra más sucia que la banqueta de la calle.....la habitación sin agua caliente en la regadera 🚿...y para amarrar el negocio la reservación solo la puedes hacer con pago por anticipado aparte de caro muy malo y mugroso....PARA LOS QUE LES SiRVA ESTO...RESERVEN EN CUALQUIER OTRO LUGAR SI QUIEREN PASARLA BIEN....a Expedia le pido que no promuevan este tipo de establecimientos tan horribles.

NO ELEVATOR AND NO BELLHOP AND THIS HOTEL IS ON THE 2ND FLOOR! I had to lug my giant suitcase up 2 floors! The hotel is old and has a musty smell. Our room had no windows that opened so no fresh air for us. The lobby is decorated in a Thai theme. (???? Interesting???) A small rooftop deck. Great location. You are literally on the town square.
