We arrived an hour early hoping we could check in somewhat early because we had a 3:30 appointment. The front desk clerk went to see if our room was ready and returned 50 minutes later allowing us to check in. The laminate floor was gritty. Countertops sticky. The toilet was very low making in very difficult for a 6’2” man. The recliner wouldn’t recline. No one was ever at the front desk, even to check out. There were only 2 handicapped spaces in the whole parking lot.

The guy at check-in was great, the ladies on the morning shift appeared to be a little scattered. I had my cat in the travel bag and one of the ladies headed straight to me with the cleaning cart and wouldn’t move, my cat was scared. The mop on one of the cleaning carts was hanging over the edge into the hallway causing a bit of a safety issue. I’m not a picky person by any means, but basic safety precautions should be taken and common courtesy to the guests should be a priority.

There was a clump of women’s hair in one of the beds. I don’t know if the sheets had not been change from the prior reservation or it came from the dryer like that. Either way the clump should have been noticed when the sheets were changed.

Dirty and smelly. Walk across the carpet with your bare feet and feel the need to wipe them off to get in bed. Our stay was supposed to be 3 nights. We rented a different hotel for the third night. We should have left on the first night. We didn't sleep very much during the nights we stayed.

Good location for me, surprisingly quiet considering hotel was near capacity. Shower was VERY good with excellent water pressure and good temperature regulation. Not always the case in hotels I've stayed at before. Hallway carpets worn and not too clean, missing ceiling time in hallway, and room smelled of stale smoke (cigar?)

This was the worst hotel ever. Nothing like the picyures or reviews on hotels.com. First time purchasing a hotel by a third pary and will never do it again. The hotel did not habe breakfast like it said, it was dirty, the the person stepped in. I went to the room, turned around and went back to the front desk desk to turn back in my key. The front desk guy was not surprised at all. Do not stay at the Candlewood Suites in Abilene Texas.

Booked through Hotels.com which gave us a 12 checkout but front desk came knocking on the door at 11saying check out was 11 and I was till getting thing together..I felt rushed. The shower curtain was ripped, something wasn’t level and all the drawers kept opening. Cable went out and all the desk could say was “it’s not every room”

The television and all the lights were on, I think the room had been given to someone else that moved to another room. 2 microwaves so there was not counter space, no coffee left in the room. 3 mismatched chairs. This room seemed to be forgotten and not used much. We enjoyed Candlewood in Lake Jackson, TX but this one was a disappointment

Refrigerator was terribly noisy. Air conditioner unit was noisy. The tv volume was maxed however you couldn’t hear it and hardly hear it at all if the refrigerator was running or the a/c was running. All 4 drawers in the kitchen would fall open because they weren’t level. The staff was wonderful.

Showed up at 830 in the evening for a suite with my wife who was having surgery the next morning. We needed the room for her to prepare Found out they had overbooked and moved us to another hotel. The new room was not a studio. I had already prepaid.

Was visiting relative and working… The property was nice enough but look like it needed updates. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would probably stay again. I thought that breakfast was included. I was disappointed with that.

This was the worst hotel ever. Nothing like the picyures or reviews on hotels.com. First time purchasing a hotel by a third pary and will never do it again. The hotel did not habe breakfast like it said, it was dirty, the the person stepped in. I went to the room, turned around and went back to the front desk desk to turn back in my key. The front desk guy was not surprised at all. Do not stay at the Candlewood Suites in Abilene Texas.

DID NOT STAY! Booked room expecting a pet fee which is customary but when at check in I was told $200 I was floored! I refused to pay more for a pet fee than what the nights stay was! Rip off!!

I don't like to give bad reviews but, in this case, I just want to help other travelers know what they are getting into. This is an honest review. There was minimal cleaning and maintenance done at this hotel. It wasn't terrible or dirty, just mainly surface cleaning and picking up. In my room, there was old coffee in the coffee pot and clothes left behind in the drawers. The coffee machine in the lobby was never refilled. The shower in my room did not work, it wouldn't switch from faucet to shower head. I reported it to the front desk. She said that she would get maintenance to look at it. I left the hotel for a few hours and, upon returning, it still was not fixed. At this point, they just gave me another room, which I appreciated. All of the staff that I encountered were friendly and as helpful as they could be, just limited resources for them. I think the rate charged for this hotel was excessive compared to the quality. I would not stay here again for that rate. There are much nicer places for comparable prices.

The dirtiest, roach infested place i have ever seen . Walked in and walked right out to book the Marriot . Broken cupboard doors, tape off sink and roaches crawling around. When i called the attendant to show him, he was literally smashing roaches with his hand and telling me, they had just sprayed the place . I hightailed it out of there. Do not waste your time and money
