From start at reception ,we had food which was very good ,a nice pint of guinness and the room we stayed in was cosy clean and comforting,i could not of asked for more. Thank you to all staff.

A welcoming pub/restaurant/hotel with parking outside. The staff all very pleasant. However, we were rather disappointed with our room as it had absolutely no view from a high, small window. We had to climb on to a seat and reach across a dress to close the blind and open the window. Tricky. Very little and cramped hanging rail holding also an ironing board, iron and large fan. Narrow desk drawers, two very small drawers in bedside tables and on lowdown drawer below the hanging unit, so we lived out of our case. All this is shown on the photos, so we could have expected it, but still surprised, considering the cost every night over £100. Attractive general rooms but outside space not great.

Comfortable place to stay with pleasant decor, a nice bathroom and fluffy pillow. Housekeeping could have been better but overall I would return. The food in the restaurant was good although the service was fairly poor.

What a fabulous little hotel. We were absolutely thrilled to bits with it. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely interiors, very comfortable and well-appointed room (just dropped a point for obvious cobwebs in one corner), very decent food and overall good value. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area :-)

Really welcoming. Weird noise when you flush the toilet. Needs addressing and there is a lot of pink and black mould in the bathroom. The sink taps don’t have hot and cold on as the caps have been removed. Comfy bed. No shaving mirror in the room. Great staff, quiet location. Outstanding vegetarian breakfast options.

Excellent comfy rooms and the beds and pillows nice, modern rooms, had room 33 last night, fixed the broken extractor fan, and all good in that room, got room 44 tonight, same top quality, only issue drainage on shower tray nearly over flowed, so needs looking at, but still 10/10 . Food is amazing here, service and staff Great, really stress free, all bills settled and receipts done there and then, so no messing around getting receipts before checkout in the morning. The chef here is top draw, every meal and starter I’ve had is awesome, and I’ve been on the road 33 years, and I don’t say that very often. My no.1 for staying away for work in salmesbury

We had an overnight stay in a superior room after a family funeral The room and bathroom was in need of upgrading/freshening though it was big enough and the bed comfortable The hospitality tray was very good Breakfast was fine. Service could have been friendlier!

Was disappointed as paid £300 for a two night stay. Got a room ground floor even though asked for high floor. Very noisy as rooms above very noisy and road noise. Room:, blind missing from windows. Toilet cistern broken so just kept filling up for ages. Reported it on arrival but not fixed. Breakfast: waitress forgot to take our order(and others). Asked for more coffee, arrived but no refilled milk jug. Cold buffet limited selection.

Quick check-in. Friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable room with good choice of beverages and lovely homemade biscuits. Bathroom with The White Company products and good shower. Breakfast selection was sufficient and full English was tasty.

We have stayed at this country inn a few times and always enjpyed it. The rooms, while not big, are well appointed and comfortable. An excellent shower in a well maintained bathroom. However, a shelf [or two] in the bathroom would be welcome.

The staff are wonderful (they deserve 6 stars!). The only reason we didn’t rate our overall stay 5 stars was because of the ceiling sound proofing and being woken up several times in the night by the people in the room above us which made sleep difficult, even in the very comfortable beds.

My meal on Sunday evening was the best I’ve ever had, and the service by Rula wonderful and friendly.. room was delightful and breakfast delicious hot and perfectly served. Excellent choice the only problem was when paying generally with Hotels.com I pay before I leave home and can use my Keycash points but as Mellor took funds on leaving the deputy manager didn’t know how to use my credit which would have covered my meal. She tried to phone but apparently couldn’t get through. I will be taking this up with you in my return.

Nice room and good food for dinner and breakfast. All of breakfast needed to be ordered - there is no buffet. Our bedroom faced the village church, whose bells sound every 15 minutes.

Stayed here as a couple on a previous trip to Blackburn area and returned to Millstone because it was so good - seemed even better this time! Room great, evening meal was excellent, and full breakfast was included.

Was disappointed as paid £300 for a two night stay. Got a room ground floor even though asked for high floor. Very noisy as rooms above very noisy and road noise. Room:, blind missing from windows. Toilet cistern broken so just kept filling up for ages. Reported it on arrival but not fixed. Breakfast: waitress forgot to take our order(and others). Asked for more coffee, arrived but no refilled milk jug. Cold buffet limited selection.

Our room was right on the road so a bit noisy. My meal wasn’t great. Staff were fab though and made us very welcome

Excellent comfy rooms and the beds and pillows nice, modern rooms, had room 33 last night, fixed the broken extractor fan, and all good in that room, got room 44 tonight, same top quality, only issue drainage on shower tray nearly over flowed, so needs looking at, but still 10/10 . Food is amazing here, service and staff Great, really stress free, all bills settled and receipts done there and then, so no messing around getting receipts before checkout in the morning. The chef here is top draw, every meal and starter I’ve had is awesome, and I’ve been on the road 33 years, and I don’t say that very often. My no.1 for staying away for work in salmesbury

Quick check-in. Friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable room with good choice of beverages and lovely homemade biscuits. Bathroom with The White Company products and good shower. Breakfast selection was sufficient and full English was tasty.

We stay here a few times a year, as we live in Morecambe and don't drive. As my legs are somewhat old, I like to get a ground floor room. The hotel is also a a fairly frequent bus route.

Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was any trouble at all Dogs and pets are very welcome and there are dog beds, treats in the bar and if you book a pet there is a pet welcome pack, bed, bowls, treats in the room Stayed 2 nights, the breakfast was excellent and i could not fault the evening meal all food was well presented and taste delicious, I ordered starters and sides rather than a full meal and it was enough food for me. The pub atmosphere was great everyone was chatty and welcoming, including other guests and locals, as a female solo traveller that kind of social vibe made me feel relaxed and safe. I would definitely stay again or drop in for a drink and meal.

I’ve stayed here on quite a few occasions. This time was a bit disappointing. The bathroom was in need of a good overall and breakfast, which is normally a highlight, fell below standard with small portions of overcooked items. The hash browns were inedible whilst the bacon and black pudding were brittle. I hope this a one off blip and that normal service will be resumed for my next visit.
