This a lovely hotel with sea views. The staff are very freindly and accommadating. The hotel was easy to get to and had plenty of parking. We were booked to have a cooked breakfast but they changed this to a continental in your room. It was cold porridge pots and muffins. There was granola with dried fruit with milk in the fridge. It would have been nice to have porridge pots that needed boiled water and Croissants. There was no extra fan in bathroom and the doors had no soft hunges. This meant from as early as 6am people were slamming doors.

All Staff were excellent. Food was tasty. Room was really good. Sea view was appreciated. Easy access to the beach via pathway. Parking was no problem.

Great staff here with the kids and dog. Couldn’t believe how welcoming the place is for dogs. Lovely bar area where we met many other dog owners and had a few drinks. We played some pool and board games. We had a nice carvery in the evening and a very large breakfast the following day. The staff are super friendly and will help with anything you need. There’s a really easy, 5 min, walk to the beach. Only downside - our room was on the top floor, which means it had very low ceiling I struggled with (I’m 6ft 3) and we could hear the people in the next room. Minor inconvenience given the price and quality of everything else

Excellent bar, restaurant, outside area, food, drink, staff, location with beach views. Good for staying with dogs. Superb at catering for food allergies. The room was spacious and clean with everything you need just very tired room. Would definately stay again though and the roast dinner is wonderful

First time stay here for a family of 2 adults and 2 pre-teen children. We generally struggle to find accomodation with 3 beds rather than 2 doubles so we pounced on this place. We stayed for one night on a spur of the moment decision to visit Norfolk. I regularly stay in hotels and found this to be a neat and tidy place, well situated for those enjoying North Norfolk. Staff were friendly, bar was fine. Can't comment on the food in the restaurant as we had booked to eat elsewhere. Room was fine for our needs and we would certainly stay again. The only two negatives we noted as a family were: wifi signal was very poor (but we were in the attic room) and the mixer taps/shower - it was either stupendously hot or cold. This wouldn't be enough to put us off. I've read a cpuple of comments about the (non) breakfasts. We didn't care a jot, the bits in the box and fridge were perfectly ample for us. We travelled into Cromer a couple of times and then further westwards. Nice hotel, would stay again.

The hotel was very clean and the decor was good. The check in was quick and easy and all the staff were very friendly. The breakfasts and the meals at night were very good. From the hotel you could get buses to Cromer and Sheringham. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Food was good, beds comfortable bathrooms could do with a of deep clean and the sealant around sanitary wear renewing and the accommodation doors could do with upgrading. But overall it was clean and tidy and i would stay again.

Don’t take too much notice of the rooms shown on the web site. Ours was pretty poor . Shower area had mould in most places . Room was grubby and decor needed refreshing .all in all very disappointing. Won’t be staying there again.

A great location. A lovely sized and well decorated room. The bar area and restaurant area were really well decorated and themed . I loved the multi coloured chesterfield sofa and chair as you entered. Staff were great and very friendly/ welcoming to us and our dog. The only criticism would be that the bathroom was very dated and was in need of a deep clean rather than an end of stay clean, more down to its age than a hygiene issue. We will happily come back again. A short walk from the beach for a great sunny day winter walk and a 5 minute drive into Cromer if that is want you want.

cooked breakfast was taken of the menu the day before we arrived and replaced by a hamper in our bedroom containing muesli and dried fruit, this was a complete insult to us as the english cooked breakfast comes as part of our break. in the three days that we were there, apart from the bin rubbish being collected, no other cleaning was done in the room, although we complained.

We stayed in the balcony room with the bath in the room (room 18). Sea view was gorgeous, the room was spacious (despite being in the attic!) and immaculately clean. Check in was easy and we enjoyed drinks in the bar. We did not eat at the hotel but the breakfast hamper was a nice touch, as was the fridge in the room with fresh milk and some treats. Perfect location to walk to the beach and to Rocky Bottoms for dinner/seafood. We were not bothered at all by noise from the bar as other reviews have mentioned - even on a Friday night it was all quiet by 10:30. We will be back!

Although we had a great stay , whilst having a shower in our room , i stopped some black bits on the floor of the shower tray , after investigation, i discovered it was coming from the bottom runners of the shower doors , it was being washed out by water running down the door . Maybe in need of a good clean out ?

Staff were great. But they were rather busy. Another person would have been a plus. Room was lovely. Breakfast hamper was generous. Loved having a fridge in the room. And having a balcony was well worth the extra money.

Stopped for two nights. All meals excellent but surprised how expensive drinks in restaurant were. Room was over bar so expect it would be noisy when busy. Also a few unfinished renovation details in ensuite and poor shower performance required attention.

Stayed one night Room ok but needs a bit of updating Especially shower as water flow very poor and temperature kept going hot and cold Room above us was very noisy especially the floor creaking constantly until early hours after people above went to sleep

The hotel looks great inside and out but you could hear everything that was going on in the bar downstairs from kids playing on the piano to loud music! There was no door to our shower so you had to shower in the corner so as the bathroom floor didn’t get soaked. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast, to pay £135 for the night and only get a bowl of muesli and Tesco basics yogurt and a few other bit was very disappointing to say the least, nowhere on the website did it say it was a continental breakfast.

Attic bedroom stairs difficult no hot water. Not told about events taking place, priority given to those attending. Meals chaotic as only the bar available, very poor service. Breakfast foodstuff and drinks not replenished.

Staff were amazing, ameneded our dinner reservation without any issues. Food was amazing for dinner and breakfast. Staff were super friendly withnua and the kids. Room was fab! 10 minutes walk to beach, couldn't als for more, will definitely return!

Arrived to complete chaos! Crowds of people and dogs everywhere in the bar, reception and corridor outside the restaurant. It appears they had overbooked for the Sunday carvery - not the best first impression and they were still offering tables to people who had no bookings. I felt very sorry for the staff who appeared completely out of their depth - there were so many angry and disgruntled people. The hotel room was fine, the sea view blocked by a big extractor vent in the way. We were offered another room with a road view, but as we had paid extra for a sea view we stayed with the original room.

This was really serviced accommodation rather than as advertised— a hotel. Room well appointed, excellent bed, bedding and towels. Fridge with snacks and a breakfast basket. But- could not get shower to produce hot water, taps only lukewarm. No receptionist to ask as the restaurant and bar run by another company. No reply from hotel management when I later wrote to them with these points. Disappointing for the high price- we had the luxury room. Also no help with luggage up 2 flights steep stairs as no ‘hotel’ staff.

We often return to Dormy House if we are in the area. We like that the breakfast is included in the price and that the check out time being 11am is later than other hotels in the area. The location is good, you can walk a path alongside some fields down to the beach. Staff are friendly, the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and a lovely bar area. The prices are very competitive as a last minute booking compared to other hotels of the same standard . All in all very good although some rooms are not well sound proofed and you can hear music from the bar or your next door guests. Another plus is if you have a dog they only charge a small amount per stay unlike their neighbouring competition. I’m sure with a quick call to the helpful reception staff prior to arriving they could advise which rooms would be quieter.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Very accomodating. Lovely room. Great beds. Great food. Communal areas really good. Had a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend and we will return some time next year for another superb break.

We just got back last weekend from a 2-night stay at the Dormy which we enjoyed. The location is good - a sea view and not too far a walk to the beach. Easy parking behind the hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and we slept well. We had the fabulous full English breakfast (chosen from a menu with lots of choice) both days and it really hit the spot and set us up for the day until dinner. We had dinner one night at the hotel - fish and chips; Norfolk ham, egg and chips; and a fruit crumble with custard - it was good honest food and the portions were big. The carvery looked really good but we ran out of time to try it (next time!). We had our dog with us throughout the stay - including eating breakfast and dinner in the bar area - she was welcomed by all the staff we met and she was also pleased to see more than a few other doggie friends enjoying the hotel!

All Staff were excellent. Food was tasty. Room was really good. Sea view was appreciated. Easy access to the beach via pathway. Parking was no problem.

really lovely cute little hotel, 5 min walk from west runton beach and not far from both sheringham and cromer. Really cute area! Lovely room stocked with snacks and breakfast!

First time we've taken our Labrador to stay in a hotel, they're very dog friendly and helpful with any queries you may have about your stay or the nearby area. The breakfast hamper was plentiful and the food in the restaurant was very good too, we had an evening meal and cooked breakfast during our weekend stay. Would certainly recommend and hope to visit again sometime.

We've never stayed at a hotel where the staff can't do enough to make your stay so enjoyable. The full English breakfast is superb, you don't need to worry about lunch! As for dinner, the large pie is to die for.

Excellent bar, restaurant, outside area, food, drink, staff, location with beach views. Good for staying with dogs. Superb at catering for food allergies. The room was spacious and clean with everything you need just very tired room. Would definately stay again though and the roast dinner is wonderful

No cooked breakfast. Cold selection of carbs and yoghurt in room. Repeated issue with fuse tripping so no kettle or phone charging at odd times and then need to find staff. Thought I requested a quiet room. . . am 60 plus single female travelling alone. Room was facing the road, music playing outside under window until close, and bright lights shining in through thin curtains. Only did a 2 night stay. Would not rush back. However did have slat and pepper squid as a start and it the best thing about the whole stay! 😊👍 Staff were polite and pleasant, and helped when asked. 👍

The hotel looks great inside and out but you could hear everything that was going on in the bar downstairs from kids playing on the piano to loud music! There was no door to our shower so you had to shower in the corner so as the bathroom floor didn’t get soaked. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast, to pay £135 for the night and only get a bowl of muesli and Tesco basics yogurt and a few other bit was very disappointing to say the least, nowhere on the website did it say it was a continental breakfast.

Lovely staff and great food. Excellent location. Accessible room not easily accessible for wheelchair users as there is little space for manoeuvres and bathroom isn’t truly accessible. You need to be able to walk to access the room layout with ease and the shower has a step up into it and is very small. Breakfast basket more than adequate and topped up each day but a full breakfast is available at a cost of preferred. Staff are very helpful and kind.

It was clean and the staff was friendly. The food in the restaurant was good, though they had run out of several dishes on the menu. We stayed at the hotel when it was like 30 degrees outside and we got a room on the top floor. It was quite hard to get to sleep in that room beacause of the heat and lack of proper AC. I appreaciate when the staff looks at you when the say good morning but that was not the case in this place. We had a good stay in the area but the hotel was not worth the money.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was comfortable. Place is looking a bit tired and needs a bit of work- chipped paint work and dirty carpets. Our outside balcony certainly needed a good clean. On arrival, we went in for Sunday carvery. The meat was lovely and presented nice, but vegetables were all dried up as if they had been sitting for a while. We noticed other guests waiting until fresher food had come out. Unfortunately it put us off and we didn’t eat there for the rest of the week. It’s such a shame as it has the making’s of a great hotel, especially with it being dog friendly. We have recommended it to friends who have a dog.

Parking is good, the room was spacious, but a little bit tired tbh. The breakfast is supplied in your room (cereal etc). The most disappointing aspect was the evening meal. I had fish and chips, I ordered it and it appeared literally within a minute. The fish was not fresh, the chips were not twice fried homemade as per the menu, but frozen chips and the peas were dry, I left most of it. I told the waiter and was just told that he would feedback to the kitchen.
