The Dormy House Hotel

Great location of the hotel. Warm and friendly staff. Negative point was that they didn’t do a cooked breakfast.

Everything was good apart from there were no segregated areas for people with dogs, they say next to us when we were eating. The second thing was that breakfast was included but it never said it was a continental breakfast in the room. Lastly there was a dog in the room next to us which wouldn't stop barking which was quite annoying.

We had an lovely stay at Dormy House, everything was clean and tidy. The continental breakfast hamper was a brilliant idea never seen thst before.

SO DISAPPOINTING. We booked through Hotels.com and should of paid £207.01p for 1 night, but with a slight discount through my work we paid £189.76, so still not cheap and I truly wish I could write a positive review, as the initial impression on pulling up out the front for a 1 night stay was positive, but sadly my wife and I were left so disappointed and honestly expected so much better quality for the money. The receptionist was lovely and welcoming, but on entering room 9 it's so dated and lacks any real quality. The bathroom door had a hole in the outside panel, so not the best first impression and after entering it got worse, as there was mould/mildew in the corner, there were holes in the wall not filled in from where a toilet roll holder had been replaced and unbeknown at the time until we tried cleaning our teeth that we had no hot water from the sink and as it was late there was no one to tell and what made the whole experience even worse was the shower is a mixer tap over a very small worn enamel bath, so we expected the shower to at least work when we got up as a basic amenity requirement, but again no hot water and staff don't turn up until 11 and as you are told you have to check out at 10.30 the latest who do you tell; because there is nobody, so we left early feeling very underwhelmed and as this is an honest review whoever owns this needs to invest and modernise it fast as it could be an absolute gold mine or do nothing and leave others disappointed no doubt.

Friendly hotel with a lovely outside seating area. Parking easy and a short walk to the beach. We will be returning soon.
