Centrally located in St Peter Port, with friendly staff and good cleanliness. There were numerous steps to access our room with no lift access (room 30, but the same number of steps for other rooms in this area of the hotel). There was a very large step down from the bedroom to the bathroom. We would be happy to return to The Duke of Normandie should we visit Guernsey again.

An excellent hotel and staff. Our room was nice and clean, although we were on the top floor with quite a few stairs to climb (40) and no lift. The meals were very good, and with excellent service.

Duke of Normandie is located on a quiet street in the heart of town, near the main shopping street. It has a private courtyard with parking spaces and an outdoor patio off the bar. The patio is very popular with local business people. The bar and restaurant have very friendly staff and great food and drink options. Be sure to try the excellent Channel Island Wheadon Gins.

Our stay at The Duke of Normandie was very pleasant, right in the centre of town with easy access to bars and restaurants etc. The room, food, bar and especially the staff exceeded our expectations. We will definitely consider it for our next trip to Guernsey. Only slight negative was the parking, very limited so had to find alternative parking and walk one night which can be tricky in town.

Lovely hotel in excellent location. Staff friendly. Rooms nice and clean but very small ( bathroom door rubbed onto bed). Bathroom with walk in shower wa nice but wouldn’t be usable for those with mobility issues due to high step. Will definitely stay here next.

Staff were very friendly. Property a little tired, hence why the refurbishment going on (inc scaffolding). Our room was nice, but the bedroom was effectively in the basement and therefore poorly ventilated (unable to open windows). This was not helped by the en-suite bathroom extract fan not working. Also bin in the toilet had not been emtied from previous occupants, which was a little unpleasant. Breaksfast staff were really friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Duke of Normandie Hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was spotless and comfortable and the location is ideal - close to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was fresh and tasty each morning. A great choice for a short break in Guernsey.

The Duke of Normandie is situated in a prime position in St Peters port Guernsey . Excellent cleaning , reception and restaurant staff. Friendly, efficient and ever so helpful an absolute credit to the hotel . Breakfast was excellent , restaurant food was wonderful. Room was compact but sufficient for our needs . Really enjoyed our stay . Thank you John and Staff .

We stayed in the main part of the hotel with a view into the courtyard. We had a standard double room which was plenty big enough. No air conditioning but a large electric fan was supplied that did the job. It was a convenient location tucked away behind the main shopping street, albeit up a steepish hill. It was quiet in the evenings despite the pub & people sitting out in the courtyard. We didn’t eat in the pub so can’t rate the food. There were lots of cafes & restaurants within walking distance we went to instead. Check in was speedy and informative wrt suggestions for places to visit & things to do.

My partner and I stayed at the Duke of Normandie Hotel between 3rd March 23 - 6th March 23. We were greeted by reception staff who checked us in and informed us about breakfast times and dining in the restaurant. We had booked early for the restaurant ( The Pickled Pig ) prior to our stay to avoid disappointment. Our room was an exclusive room ( room 45 ) which is situated in the court yard on the 1st floor. These are accessed via a spiral staircase so it would be unsuitable for less abled persons. The room was a bit smaller than we had hoped for but it was nice and clean and had a nice tiled bathroom and walk in shower. We had the King size bed which came with a very warm feather duvet cover. Inside the room there was free Tea and Coffee , including a Nespresso machine and a flat screen TV which had a selection of UK freeview channels. The only issue we had with the room was a bit of black mould, which appeared to get worse during our stay. This was on the ceiling above the door, but it was probably due to condensation caused by the shower or there are issues with the roof. * to note, there is building works going on at the location. Food in the Pickled Pig was lovely, and so was the breakfast. Staff couldn't have been any nicer and they made our stay that little bit more enjoyable. To note, the car park entrance is a little tight if you have a larger vehicle SUV etc. We will definitely be staying again. Highly recommended.

Great location for town centre: a couple of minutes walk to main shopping street but tucked away so not bothered by noise. Booked a Compact room which described it well - small but well-appointed with everything you need - hairdryer, iron, ironing board, fridge, comfy bed. We were across from the car park. Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. I've stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels on Guernsey but I would definitely come back here on my next visit.

The period design/history of the hotel means that it has plenty of charm but that has to be balanced against the lack of some of the things that would automatically be included in a new build . Absence of air conditioning can make the rooms hot and stuffy, for example. The freestanding electric fan in our room got plenty of use

Excellent location for shopping area and ferry port. Bus terminal nearby for exploring the rest of the island. Compact double room very tight space. Barely room to move around between the furniture. Big bathroom and nice shower(although the rain shower part of ours didn’t work). Delightful staff and excellent breakfast.

I have never met a receptionist with such an attitude. No interest in providing service at all. How you can work in a client facing function with such an attitude is a mystery. Room was too small. There was a foldable stand for the suitcase - but nowhere enough space to use it. Booking said “payment at hotel”, but credit card was charged 48 hours earlier - hotel policy! I have been in Guernsey more than 20 times. This was the first and last at this hotel. All other hotels I have tried beat this experience by very far!

Fantastic hotel with lovely rooms, comfy beds, excellent friendly staff, especially Gerry, and delicious food and drink in the hotels restaurant/bar The Pickled Pig! Absolutely loved our stay at the hotel which is very central and so conveniently placed for Shop, cafes, restaurants pubs and the beautiful harbour too! Would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel in a great location. This is a great place to stay and use as a base to explore St Peter Port and beyond. Imelda greeted us at check in with a lovely smile and a warm welcome. We stayed two nights in an Executive king room which had a very comfortable bed and great natural light from the three large windows. We did have an issue with our room during our stay but as soon as we raised this, Jon the general manager was very quick to put things right for us and this is indicative of how this hotel puts customer satisfaction at the forefront. We can highly recommend as a place to stay and we look forward to staying there again the next time we visit Guernsey.

Duke of Normandie is located on a quiet street in the heart of town, near the main shopping street. It has a private courtyard with parking spaces and an outdoor patio off the bar. The patio is very popular with local business people. The bar and restaurant have very friendly staff and great food and drink options. Be sure to try the excellent Channel Island Wheadon Gins.

Nice hotel. Central SPP. Car parking. Excellent service from the lovely lady on reception and John at the bar. Comfortable big bed. Slept excellently. Partial sea view from our room - only booked a basic, so this was a nice touch. Fluffy towels!

Fantastic hotel with lovely rooms, comfy beds, excellent friendly staff, especially Gerry, and delicious food and drink in the hotels restaurant/bar The Pickled Pig! Absolutely loved our stay at the hotel which is very central and so conveniently placed for Shop, cafes, restaurants pubs and the beautiful harbour too! Would highly recommend!

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring St Peter Port on foot, and there is a taxi rank, and bus stops a 2 minute walk away to venture further. Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and contained everything we needed for our weekend break. The ladies on reception were very friendly and helpful; printing our parkrun barcodes when we realised we didn’t have them with us, and organising an early morning taxi to the airport for us. Thank you so much!

Excellent location in the heart of St Peter Port, just a bit of a hill to climb to get to it. Our room was one in the courtyard, not in the main hotel, and was extremely warm/hot with just a fan to cool it down, we even left our door to the outside open until we went to bed to cool it down. TV and wi-fi reception good. Restaurant average.

We stayed in the main part of the hotel with a view into the courtyard. We had a standard double room which was plenty big enough. No air conditioning but a large electric fan was supplied that did the job. It was a convenient location tucked away behind the main shopping street, albeit up a steepish hill. It was quiet in the evenings despite the pub & people sitting out in the courtyard. We didn’t eat in the pub so can’t rate the food. There were lots of cafes & restaurants within walking distance we went to instead. Check in was speedy and informative wrt suggestions for places to visit & things to do.

Booked in for 2 nights October 2024. Saw rooms on web-site and opted for executive room, ...over compact room. Arrived to a room looking just like the compact room. Went back to reception. Was advised our room 'was' and executive room! Suggested I wanted one like to picture on their web-site. Was given another room to inspect which was a mirror image of the first room, no better. Went back again showed the man on reception, the picture. He checked with a cleaner which room that was. he said that we 38 but it was booked. He then selected 33 that was similar. That was more like the room in the picture. These rooms had two windows in the outside wall. The compact rooms only having one window each. Finally arrived in an Executive room. Staff very helpful but didn't see the difference in rooms! Dinner - opted for the "Tennerfest menu. Good value at £20.00 each for 3 course meal. Turned out to be (apparently) pre=packaged food. OK but low quality. Deserts were NOT banoffee pie -it was slices of Banana with ice-cream on chocolate powder. And the baked Alaska was soft (uncooked) meringue over good cold ice-cream, but it had not seen an oven or heat! wine was good, too good for that food! Next night food of the main menu was good, as expected. Rooms were beginning to show signs of wear. All staff we really good, pleasant and helpful. Great location in center of town, but a quite side street. Very pleasant.

The property was cause to where I needed to be. The room was comfortable, wonderful modern bathroom, with great shower. Staff couldn’t do enough to make my stay excellent. But the best part was the food in the restaurant. Fresh gush, beautifully presented, taste and flavour the best. Good inexpensive wine. Thank you to all. Will come back.

A little disappointing the picture on Hotels.com the courtyard with the rooms around it. Cars are parked so quite noisy and seagulls awful. Real disappointment was breakfast and the tiny room they serve it in. Everyone is crammed in tryng to get to cereals etc.

We stayed in the cottage suite which was very spacious and comfortable. We had a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, cooker and oven which meant we did not eat out all the time during our one week stay. The hotel is very conveniently located in central St Peter Port. We found all the staff very helpful but wondered why our room was serviced in the late afternoon every day just as we were returning from our day out and ready for a shower etc. It was extremely hot while we were here and the air conditioning was a little overwhelmed so the room was very hot despite keeping the curtains and blinds closed. We had a great holiday and will be back.

Well maintained room, cleaned every day. Really good WiFi. Friendly checking. Although over 3 hours early able to go straight to room as was available. Courtyard was great place to have a drink at the end of the day
