A wonderful find. We stayed for 4 nights and used The Mill House Inn as our base. Welcoming staff; superb breakfasts and evening meal; fine choice of beers. Good value for money.

Very difficult to find and on a dangerous bend with uneven carpark with the steps up to the reception having unusually high risers No one in reception to greet us,the woman was flitting from working in the bar to working on reception Bedroom was over the bar,extremely noisy,unacceptable after a long drive and we checked in late around 9 pm so very tired just wanted to rest and sleep Bedroom floor very sloping so the bed was uneven and not level Dirty windows Wardrobe a mess with a spare blanket just thrown into the bottom with the hairdryer on it Shower room,dirty toilet ,light kept going out,generally not cleaned properly inc a previous customers shower gel left The top of the bed cabinets were dirty Obviously poor attention to cleaning which included in the bed cabinet drawer the previous customers female socks and panties! A completely uninviting bedroom,cramped and small Dining room light and open with a decent breakfast,the guy who brought food to us was unkempt The female owner was polite and friendly she said that she would speak to the cleaners Offered no reduction,we didn’t ask at the time far too embarrassing situation Unsuitable for people with disabilities Will be asking our bank to request a refund on our behalf

My fish was cold and watery. Pool table in middle of restaurant with the tables around it 2 lads playing. Wasn’t what you want while eating dinner. Breakfast was nice no complaints there. My room was above the bar. At 10pm they started karaoke the next night a quiz night that was very loud also for someone getting up at 4am the next day. My work mate was in another room and couldn’t hear anything but was on the floor above me. So if you want peaceful night don’t get the room above the bar or on the floor.

It was a quaint inn with an attached pub and restaurant which was very convenient. It has lots of parking and is located in a spot that make it easy to explore in different directions. We went to Port Isaac, Port William, and Tinagle while we were there. The staff was all great!

I would say very cozy house vibe which I like the most. Moreover, we played snooker while enjoying the beer. Bar service was excellent. Beautiful views and traditional English breakfast, amazing though.

We love staying in places with history but this placed needed a deep cleaning. Dusty, cobwebs and items left by previous guests. Obvious that covid cleaning is non-existant.

The room was very tired and absolutely filthy, pubic hair on the floor in the bathroom, excrement all under the toilet seat, so much mold in the shower it was disgusting. All the surfaces in the room were covered in thick layers of dust,multiple cobwebs, tie straps holding the ill fitting curtains on, coffee cups not clean. The bed was very old & uncomfortable, the room smelt musty because of the damp. As soon as i entered the property stairwell the lack of cleanliness was very apparent. Just very please we were only staying one night which is a real shame because the location is quite beautiful.

Biggest mistake not reading the bad reviews properly, everything is spot on. We did not expect much as we knew we are in the country side and is an Inn place, but God I have never seen a property so dirty such as this place and I do not understand how is advertised and sold online. This place it is tidy but very dirty. First of all the smell that hits you, and then the filthy carpets/floors and doors at all the entrances, such a dirty kettle with water left from a previous use. It is so much to say about this place but not enough characters to write more. The only good thing about this place are the two members of staff really polite, and another thing is the clean sheets, they are probably delivered from a laundrette as they were delivery bags on the coridors, but thats it. The rest is a shock.

Property is beautiful on the outside, but the room was only ok. Stayed in a family room. Second bedroom smalled musty ir a dog smell. Not sure which. Blinds were dusty, bedside tables were unclean. Bath needs replacing.

Our room was so dirty. There were multiple cobwebs and spiders. A layer of dust was on the lamps, side tables, doors, trim work, around the shower inside and out and the carpet was old and dirty. I like old and even quirky with different levels of an old building. But to have it be dirty is disgusting. The old mattress did not have anything other than a sheet over it. When I shut the curtains, there was an insect in the folds. I was hesitant to eat breakfast after seeing the state of the room, but we tried it and there was a great selection. But again, dirty walls, cobwebs behind the log burner, dirty tea pot spout. I’m sure this would be a great place if only it were clean.

Room was dusty and very tired. Floor had not been hoovered properly for a very long time. The whole building needs a refurbish. Staff were attentive and when i complained they tried to address the problems. However we heard nothing from management.. we will not be returning.

the rooms look like they haven't been thoroughly cleaned in 10 years, very dusty, carpets dirty, cobwebs everywhere. the staff were friendly, the food was fine, but the building and patio area are tired. needs a major sprucing up!!!

Very comfortable room with a lovely enamel bath. Staff all very friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. Our only problem was lack of WiFi in room one. Also being the room that everybody stops outside to open the next door it is a bit noisy which set our dog off barking in the late evening.

Lovely staff, charming location, great breakfast, freshly refurbished bathrooms with stellar water pressure. However, the bed was so bad that I contemplated sleeping on the ground or in my car — I literally slept better on a knackered Soviet cot. Curiously, upon investigation into why the inner springs could be seen beneath the sheets, we discovered that the mattress was actually upside down, with the pillow top facing the floor. We flipped the mattress and re-made the bed, but even then, the springs were still evident and we tossed and turned all night. Somehow, pillows were even worse; they felt like pulverised t-shirts that had been compressed into a pillow-shape. Perhaps unavoidably, thanks to the building’s age, there is no noise insulation; we heard muffled voices emanating from adjacent rooms until about midnight.

Very difficult to find and on a dangerous bend with uneven carpark with the steps up to the reception having unusually high risers No one in reception to greet us,the woman was flitting from working in the bar to working on reception Bedroom was over the bar,extremely noisy,unacceptable after a long drive and we checked in late around 9 pm so very tired just wanted to rest and sleep Bedroom floor very sloping so the bed was uneven and not level Dirty windows Wardrobe a mess with a spare blanket just thrown into the bottom with the hairdryer on it Shower room,dirty toilet ,light kept going out,generally not cleaned properly inc a previous customers shower gel left The top of the bed cabinets were dirty Obviously poor attention to cleaning which included in the bed cabinet drawer the previous customers female socks and panties! A completely uninviting bedroom,cramped and small Dining room light and open with a decent breakfast,the guy who brought food to us was unkempt The female owner was polite and friendly she said that she would speak to the cleaners Offered no reduction,we didn’t ask at the time far too embarrassing situation Unsuitable for people with disabilities Will be asking our bank to request a refund on our behalf

The hotel is very charming and quaint and the staff are very friendly. The hotel grounds are lovely and peaceful and very private. The breakfast was included and you complete your meal request on a form, to be left at reception before retiring for the evening. In the morning, the staff have your table already prepared and everything you ordered is served. I had a vegan breakfast, which was good and they even had vegan yoghurt, which many places don’t have. I did have a nice vegan dinner at the hotel, which was fairly reasonably priced. The room was a little tired, but everything was clean and comfortable and the bed was comfortable. I did find the low water pressure in the toilet a bit of a pain, as it required several flushes, but the staff said they generally have low water pressure, so it is normal. Getting to the room involved lifting my bags up a few sets of creaky old stairs in narrow winding corridors, but I found it nice and quirky and part of the charm of staying in a place that is a few hundred years old. I would stay here again if I were in the area and I would recommend it.

Our room(s) at The Mill House Inn were both very spacious, especially the bathroom, and kept the character of the old mill with big roof beams (if you're a tall person, you'll need to duck). It's located about 1/2 mile from stunning Trebarwith Strand that is great for swimming and surfing at low tide but disappears completely at high tide. Also 1/2 mile from the South West Coastal Path and fabulous hikes in either direction. Our first room was above the bar and was a bit loud (closes at 11pm which is not bad) so staff were very kind in moving us to another quieter room our second night. Breakfast was fresh, hearty and delicious. Highly recommended

Spent an enjoyable night with my husband at the Mill House Inn. Dinner and breakfast were good. However this is an old property and the drawbacks are that there is no soundproofing and our room’s floor was not flat.

This “inn” is dirty , small rooms , uncomfortable beds , lots of stairs (definitely not a place for anyone that is mobility challenged ) minimal amenities with broken furnishings and at least one condescending employee. Here’s some of the issues we encountered . The WiFi ONLY works in the breakfast area . The WiFi DOES NOT WORK in your actual room . The grounds had real potential! The building was really old. There were only 4 rooms being rented and they put us furthest away up gobs of stairs! I will say that they did have fantastic water pressure which I appreciate. The food and service were good.

The hotel is very charming and quaint and the staff are very friendly. The hotel grounds are lovely and peaceful and very private. The breakfast was included and you complete your meal request on a form, to be left at reception before retiring for the evening. In the morning, the staff have your table already prepared and everything you ordered is served. I had a vegan breakfast, which was good and they even had vegan yoghurt, which many places don’t have. I did have a nice vegan dinner at the hotel, which was fairly reasonably priced. The room was a little tired, but everything was clean and comfortable and the bed was comfortable. A warm and friendly welcome, lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms. We spent one night at NYE here and the food and entertainment was great. Lovely breakfast! Thanks to everyone for a great stay at the Mill House, we’ll definitely be back!

Evening food was good but some delays (short staffed). Breakfast felt rushed & was very ordinary with poor coffee. Was an acceptable place but nothing special. Wouldn’t go again.

Our room(s) at The Mill House Inn were both very spacious, especially the bathroom, and kept the character of the old mill with big roof beams (if you're a tall person, you'll need to duck). It was a quaint inn with an attached pub and restaurant which was very convenient. It has lots of parking and is located in a spot that make it easy to explore in different directions. We went to Port Isaac, Port William, and Tinagle while we were there. The staff was all great!

It was a beautiful mill house. The surrounding scenery was stunning. The staff were friendly. Walking distance to a nearby beach. 2 1/4 miles coastal walking to Tintagel.

The Mill House is a lovely and quaint hotel in the most beautiful surroundings. The staff were amazing and so welcoming. Getting to the rooms upstairs can be challenging with cases but the rooms were clean with updated modern bathrooms. The inn is hundreds of years old so some quirks are expected. It’s just up the road from the stunning beach of Port William. Don’t miss it!

A nice old inn in a good location. The manager was very welcoming and we got a nice big room and bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and service was very good. They do not serve evening meals on a Monday night; however, the manager pointed us to a lovely pub overlooking the beach.

A wonderful find. We stayed for 4 nights and used The Mill House Inn as our base. Welcoming staff; superb breakfasts and evening meal; fine choice of beers. Good value for money.

Loved find! We stayed one night in the cottage, which has a great living/dining area with double bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The pub is characterful, contrasted by the dining area which is quite a large, open modern addition. The breakfast was very good. We arrived at 4 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon, very hungry and I was a little disappointed to find that the only food left available for us would be fish and chips, as everything else had run out (restaurant closes at 5 on Sunday), but the fish was fantastic. Nice and quiet. The bedroom did have quite damp smell, but was quiet and comfortable. Would stay again.

Unfortuantely the kitchen was not fully functioning so had to.eat evening else where. Breakfast was fantastic as well.as the staff

Evening food was good but some delays (short staffed). Breakfast felt rushed & was very ordinary with poor coffee. Was an acceptable place but nothing special. Wouldn’t go again.

Lovely property located in a quaint village. The owner is most attentive and welcoming. Would highly recommend ….and the restaurant is clean with attractive prices and a varied menu.

A nice old inn in a good location. The manager was very welcoming and we got a nice big room and bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and service was very good. They do not serve evening meals on a Monday night; however, the manager pointed us to a lovely pub overlooking the beach.

The Mill House price quoted for cooked breakfasts.Cooked evening meals were stated to be available. We had booked for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary at a quiet remote hotel.On arrival we were asked for immediate payment which we provided by credit card. Once our payment had been processed we were handed a room key and told where to find the room and only then were we told that breakfast would be just “continental” each morning as there was no chef. We asked about evening meals and we were told that there would not be any. We are in our 80s and were shocked and upset. It was mid afternoon and in a remote location in Cornwall. After assessing our options we requested a refund. The response was not pleasant. The woman said she would give a refund because she could not be bothered with having an argument. Processing the refund took some time. It is not possible to access this hotel by turning right because it is at a very narrow very acute angle at a sharp slope. The whole experience was unpleasant and very stressful. We had to find alternative accommodation quickly in late afternoon which ended up in a town high street 7 miles away.

Nice old fashioned mill in the countryside. Lovely staff. Room was basic but clean. Wifi free but spotty. Our room was directly over the bar so quite noisy at times with people coming and going to other rooms. Did quiet down around 10.30 both nights. Shower good. Bed ok. Best thing about our stay was the food. It was amazing. Breakfast was really good quality. We did the steak night for £15. Was best meal we had in cornwall. The steak was lovely and the chips were delicious. Location was 10 minutes drive to tintagel down a very very narrow windy road. Would hate to do in the dark. Pleasant staff.
