Check in was easy, our room was very clean, the shower was great, and the WiFi worked well. The larger of the two beds was softer than i like, so I slept on the other firmer bed.

We had a great stay at the Waitomo Lodge! The posted pictures of the outside (parking lot) don't do this place justice at all. Room was clean, spacious, and modern with a high ceiling and lots of light. Access to laundry facilities for a reasonable fee was a great bonus. Easy 15 minute walk from hotel into downtown Te Kuiti where there is an amazing restaurant recommended by our host (Stoked Eatery). I would definitely stay here again.

Sam, the Manager was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. Loved the small balcony that faced a stream. Lovely place for an overnight stay. The cafe opposite was convenient to grab a bite before setting off.

We had a rental car so this property made a good lodging option for the Waitomo Caves area, which is about a 15-minute drive. The "river" deck (I think we rented a "premium king") is a deck with not much river. The room was clean and had housekeeping. It was equipped with dishes and utensils. There is a coffee cafe right across the street. 4 minutes to the main drag with a number of food options. Driving tip: Take the time to get off the highway and experience the countryside roads.

Very large, spacious room with high vaulted ceilings. It had comfortable furniture to sit in, along with a very comfortable bed. We used the kitchenette to cook our breakfast. Very quiet area. Free parking.

Stayed overnight whilst visiting the glow worm caves nearby. The room was very big and spacious and also very clean. Comfy bed (bonus) and close to town. Much better than I had expected. Would recommend to anyone travelling through. 👍

The room was clean however the bed was the worst experience we have ever had to endure in all of our travels. What appeared to be a king size bed was actually two twin beds pushed together. The mattresses were so old and uncomfortable that you could actually feel the metal springs piercing your body all night. It was quite miserable, considering all you really want to do is have a good comfortable sleep and be well rested for the next day’s adventure. The floor was bubbling up in the bathroom as well. There was no attendant when we arrived around 6:00 pm or when we left the next morning around 8:15 am. I think this property has great potential however they need to update their beds if they want any return customers or referrals.

I liked the quiet, secure, private, clean, relaxing, I didn't like the fact that there was no kitchen sink, which is why I didn't do any dishes, I refused to wash them in the bathroom. Apart from that, I enjoyed my stay

Not so good ! Room #10 had an air conditioning that was set high and behind the balcony curtains, so running the aircon meant having open curtains to the sunlight and with no privacy. Also the shower had no racks for soap, shampoos etc….

This is a very nice place to stay. Large rooms and very quiet. The only slight problem is that the shower doesn't have a shower curtain and there is no soap holder.

Being on the main road it was easy to find this property. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean and well-provisioned. Receiving chocolates and bottled water upon arrival was a nice touch. From here it is an easy, short and pleasant walk into the town.

We were looking for an overnight stay during our travel from Napier to Auckland. The Waitomo Lodge is conveniently located on the edge of the small town of Te Kuiti, which provides convenient stores, Cafes & many Takeaway options. It is also a short drive to the famous Waitomo Caves. The Lodge itself had a Warm & Welcoming ambience. The gentleman (who I would assume was the Property Manager), greeted us with a great big smile and genuine personality. Rooms were clean, spacious and fully equipped with all the basics. TV's in both main room & kids room had Netflix, etc. Beds & Pillows were lovely and comfortable, best sleep all week!! Traffic, particularly big trucks, could make the stay a bit noisy (we were a bit further off the main road, would hate to be in unit 1 or 2). Full blockout curtains would just take this room to the next level of comfort. Thank you!

The room was clean just a basic room we were happy with it. We only stayed 1 night. The front desk person was very nice and helpful. She let us know if we were going to eat out to do so before 8pm as everything closes by then.

Lovely stay! Convenient to visit the Worm Caves and near good restaurants. The woman at check in was so warm and welcoming. Plenty of space to spread out as a family and the bathroom was very large!

Perfect last minute stay! Even though we did not plan on cooking, loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils and dishware. There was even a pint of fresh milk in the fridge for coffee or tea. Appreciated the bottle of water and the Whitaker’s treat when we checked in. The food recommended at Stoked Eatery was gourmet and Bosco for breakfast just hit the spot. Only suggestion is to have a little stool to place shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Thank you!

Waitomo Lodge is very comfortable and had everything my friend and I needed for an overnight stay. Our room (king and twin) was spacious; the small deck off the back over looks the river, and the train tracks. I wore ear plugs and didn’t hear the train at night but my friend said she was woken up several times as it passed. At check in the host gave us a recommendation for a delicious restaurant in town: Stoked. I would stay here again.

Perfect stop on our way to the glow worm caves. Clean and comfortable with a great coffee shop for breakfast right across the street. Not crazy about rooms with carpet but all good. Was nice and bright.

We had a rental car so this property made a good lodging option for the Waitomo Caves area, which is about a 15-minute drive. The "river" deck (I think we rented a "premium king") is a deck with not much river. The room was clean and had housekeeping. It was equipped with dishes and utensils. There is a coffee cafe right across the street. 4 minutes to the main drag with a number of food options. Driving tip: Take the time to get off the highway and experience the countryside roads.

We were looking for an overnight stay during our travel from Napier to Auckland. The Waitomo Lodge is conveniently located on the edge of the small town of Te Kuiti, which provides convenient stores, Cafes & many Takeaway options. It is also a short drive to the famous Waitomo Caves. The Lodge itself had a Warm & Welcoming ambience. The gentleman (who I would assume was the Property Manager), greeted us with a great big smile and genuine personality. Rooms were clean, spacious and fully equipped with all the basics. TV's in both main room & kids room had Netflix, etc. Beds & Pillows were lovely and comfortable, best sleep all week!! Traffic, particularly big trucks, could make the stay a bit noisy (we were a bit further off the main road, would hate to be in unit 1 or 2). Full blockout curtains would just take this room to the next level of comfort. Thank you!

Staff were very courteous and helpful- allowed an early check-in. Room was clean, spacious & well equipped - loved the chocolates. It was close to shopping & cafes. The free Netflix was wonderful with great wifi. Close to the glowworm caves. Brilliant for a one night stay.
