Took 20 mins+ to check in as no staff was about, pub ajacent is derelict same with swimming pool, room was filthy with paint stripping off walls, a bath that looked like it hadnt been cleaned for months and light fixtures hanging out with exposed wires. Completely out of the way of anything except a petrol station. Wouldnt recommend anyone to stay here, more worth your time paying a bit extra for somewhere nicer to stay.

The Greyhound is a place with potential that has been allowed to decline by its previous owners. The rooms are a decent size, the bathroom is good with a good sized bath, the bed was reasonably comfortable. Service was good and when there was a leak in the bathroom I was immediately given another room without question. The location is convenient for visiting both Manchester and Liverpool, Port Sunlight, etc. But there is no restaurant or bar on site nor is there one in convenient walking distance.

No pool no gym no hot tub no internet no pub no food

Misleading photos regarding Pool,jacuzi and Eating Availability. (Wasn't any) Shabby, worn tired, interior. Best bit,Clean bed and sheets.Lift broken, my husband has Mobility issues.

Hotel is very basic,needs totally refurbishing, carpets,and furniture badly stained. No restaurant or bar. Staff were friendly. Only stayed one night, glad I didn't have to stay longer. No amenities close by. If you need just a one night stay,its ok. The hotel itself still advertise a pool,bar and restaurant. Which is false. I wouldn't stay again.

The hotel needs updating. The lifts didn't work and there was no food on site. The room was ok . It was are first stay but if they manage to serve food we would stay again

There was poo in the toilet of first room I was given. There was a smell of cigarettes in the hallway. The lift wasn't working, the gym and pool were out of use. The poor staff must have a difficult time with it. The place needs more than just a refurb

Thought there was on site pub/restaurant. Permentmy closed. Accomodation in sports complex. In need of some tlc.

False advertising (pool/bar) when I got there it’s is totally run down the pool has not been in use for several months the bar is closed down

The pool although closed was in a disgusting condition, the lift was out of order (at least for 2 months) so having to carry luggage & a 1 year old was ridiculous !!! My rooms electronic door handle was defective, so they'd fitted a yale lock. The owners need to spend a lot of money to gring it anywhere near how a 3* should be. Oh & no breakfast being available is ridiculous also. Plus the outside needs serious maintenance...

Mattress very badly stained dangerous electrics cracked mirror badly scratched furniture. Not worth the £54 per night nowhere for breakfast get a better room in Blackpool with breakfast for same price all the electrical items are out of date for electrical checks one of items was last checked in 2017

Unfriendly staff upon arrival. Aside from being heavily outdated the carpets were both crispy with age and sporting numerous sticky patches. The decor was also suffering the same fate as the carpet regarding its age. The bathtub looked like a murder scene had happened in the past with a very stained, grotesque tub. I wasn't aware beds could be sold that hard, the mattress was very reminiscent of a hard stone floor I had once passed out on drunkenly in my youth. Aside from the brutal room conditions it was sporting fresh towels, hot drinks and clean sheets (on the bed that I really cant stress enough how hard it was).

I have stayed in some bad hotels, but this one by far the worst. Decor from late 50s, burnt carpets, dirty shower with tonnes of hair, not working lights… mould in kettle(!). And we only arrived at 21:50! We left as soon as possible, felt like i needed a shower after staying in that room…

Filthy very ran down and cocktoaches in the room stepped on dog mess as i was walking out of the hotel doors just terrible needs to he shut down

Absolutely horrible hotel, really stinking, dirty, noisy, run down place . Photos on the webpage are not what the real state is. I spent one night with my son, where I was absolutely disgusted, because we were late and had no time to book something else we had no choice but spend a night in this filthy place. I do not recommend to anyone to stay here. PLEASE AVOID

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone! One of the Windows in the ground floor room was glued shut with some sort of foam and the other was wide open and had no handle so couldn’t be shut or locked. The enamel coating on the bath was all chipped and peeling away so actually having a bath would have been really uncomfortable and probably unhygienic, luckily there was a shower fitted, the room was relatively clean but the carpet was marked and stained the furniture looked battered. Luckily The bedding was clean and the mattress was quite comfortable otherwise I would have slept in my car.

The accommodation was the poorest I’ve ever stayed in and needed a complete overhaul. In the bedrooms, there were missing lampshades, broken curtain tracks, the windows weee filthy with bird mess, windows didn’t open properly, iron burns on the carpet, headboard extremely grubby, toilet role holder broken, cracked sink, cigarette burns on toilet seat, burn marks in bath itself. The only thing clean was the bed linen and towels and the female reception at the front desk was very helpful, but the overall state of the building was completely run down and should be shut down, in my opinion.

There was no spoon, the WiFi didn't work and the whole room didn't feel clean and was incredibly dated and I didn't feel particularly safe if I'm totally honest. I'm far from a snob but this place was far below any acceptable standards and id rather sleep in the car than stay there again.

We had a big room, with two double beds and was as clean as premier inn. Only downside was the shower pressure other than that not too bad.

Even for the cheap price, this was poor. The corridors smelt bad; the bed was the worst I've ever slept in; when I tried to make a cup of tea. the mug poured boiling water everywhere through cracks; the TV didn't work. Do you need to know more?

TV did not work, no shower curtain, couldn't use WiFi as signal too weak. Very rude, unhelpful and uncaring staff on duty refused to rectify situation. Didn't get a wink of sleep all night. The standard of service at this hotel is awful, like some hotels I've stayed at in a developing country. I won't be booking this place again. The worst hotel I've stayed at in Warrington area.

Actually disappointed after initially getting settled in. Staff could do no more. Allowed me to check in early, But after that it just went downhill, No tv remote, Bath peeling away, shower was like a dribble, room was just not comfortable. I ended up leaving a day early. Staff said they were doing renovation, Not one to normally leave a review

Window was broken in hotel room so the noise of the road was really loud. Bedding didn't smell very clean. Wasn't a double bed was two singles put together. No food available. Only one cup in the room. Wifi is good

The room was okay, clean and bathroom was fine also. Had a fan which was handy as it was hot day. The actual hotel was very dated and in major need of a renovation. The pub next door was closed, gym not in use. The receptionist was blunt and non interactive, kinda of rude. I wouldn’t recommend to be honest. Only used as was cheapest place and close to where I needed to work. £45, next time I’ll just go travelodge for £65. Didn’t feel safe leaving van in car park, had that feeling but thankfully all was okay.

OVERALL A GOOD STAY. This is a Budget hotel so don't expect luxury but budget accommodation. Excellent value for the size of the room, a few scuffs and marks etc and limited facilities in the hotel but as this is a budget hotel you don't book expecting it to have 5 star facilities. It was clean and tidy and the staff are amazing and very helpful. close to both Manchester Trafford centre, Liverpool, Chester and was a great base for us.

I stay away a lot for work and have seen it all from roll top baths in the bedroom to hundreds of condom wrappers under the bed (afterwards finding out the room was hourly rented 🤔😳) but this place is good for the money, was super toasty when I got there and was fully acceptable for my purposes. I’d just say to people you get what you pay for and if you cheapskate it then slate places for their quality it’s pretty much stupidity. I’d stay here again without question as I haven’t paid for Buckingham palace at the end of the day. Great parking and friendly staff.

Upon arrival, the first room I was allocated had a faulty door that would not open. After reporting this, I was moved to a second room. However, shortly after entering this room, the lock malfunctioned and I became completely trapped inside. I was stuck in the room for approximately one hour, unable to get out. This was a frightening and dangerous situation that felt more like being imprisoned than staying in a hotel. Despite numerous attempts to free the door, I remained locked inside. Even when staff arrived, they too struggled to open the door, which only highlighted the severity of the issue and the clear lack of functioning emergency protocols. Throughout this ordeal, I was repeatedly told by staff that the maintenance person was "only 2 minutes away"—this continued for over 45 minutes with no progress, while we were left in an extremely stressful and vulnerable situation. Shockingly, the only way I was eventually able to escape the room was by using a pair of scissors passed through the gap by staff, which I then used to manually release the lock from inside. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious health and safety concerns. Eventually, I was relocated to a third room in a different part of the hotel, which we had no choice but to accept due to having to be up in 7 hours time.

Unfortunately very outdated and tired, with only rooms available no other services, think it is more a hostel than hotel,as a single traveller for work turning up to some drinking alcohol outside closed pub didnt make for a safe feeling environment, staff where friendly enough

We booked a last minute overnight stay at this hotel after attending a wedding because driving conditions were very bad. Parked in a disabled bay (which was nowhere near the entrance of the hotel). There were a few people sitting on the floor outside, quite intoxicated (drunk or on drugs I don’t know) but they wondered why we would want to stay somewhere like this and that it wasn’t a hotel, they just rented rooms out. We were given a key to a 3rd floor room despite being disabled when the lift wasn’t working and we had musical equipment my daughter had to carry 3 flights of stairs. There was lots of noise coming from rooms and the smell of cigarette smoke everywhere. Our door had wet polyfilla filling a hole that once had a door lock but could easily be pushed through. We were already feeling very unsafe, due to some of the guests hanging around but nothing could prepare us for what we saw when we opened the door. A dirty room with drawers hanging open, dirty duvet over a chair but to top it off there was actually no bed!! Just a dirty carpet with a cleaner patch where once a bed had been. The bathroom had a dirty towel on the floor and a dirty used razor on the side and the whole thing was like a drug addicts room. Even had there been a bed, we could never as 2 females, felt safe in there but the fact you could smell cigarettes meant that smoke alarms weren’t working or even absent altogether. We left and drove home in torrential rain rather than staying. Disgusting

Good place , clean , spacious & quiet Maybe they need to open the restaurant and bar since the place is islated otherwise crossing to that petrol station for a simple shopping is unsafe...i spent nearly 20mins maneuvering to cross

Shame this hotel doesnt have anywhere to sit and have a coffee or something to eat outside of the hotel needs doing up and parking spaces remarked but room was nice and clean and well presented and staff were very helpful would go back once they have a resturant and looks more pleasing to the eye

Potential customers should have been warned that this once friendly hotel now has declined and provides no food or refeshment of any sort.

Read so many bad reviews but we had a family of 8 it was perfect for one night there is a pub and a indian restaurant within walking distance less than a 5 min walk after a day at gulivers to get your head down cant complain.

This hotel does not have a bar, restaurant or pool as described. The place needs to be closed and refurbished. Noise is an issue from the road. Staff couldn’t advise on local restaurants. All in all a particularly unpleasant experience
