Marlin Aldgate Tower Bridge

This aparthotel is located just a few blocks from a Tube station, which made it ideal for our purposes. Unfortunately, there was construction going on, of which we were not notified in advance. We had no access to our balcony (the door to which was rigged to open only an inch or so). During the days, there were men working on our balcony. We were not told this ahead of time, and it was noisy and made us uncomfortable. The staff were nice. The space was great with a full kitchen, but there were no instructions on how to use any of the appliances, etc. The provided towels, toiletries, and 1 extra roll of toilet tissue, but bring your own paper towels, etc. There were plenty of dishes, cutlery, etc.

The cleaning of the apartment could be better. The tables in the living room and kitchen were not clean and also the floor. The dishwasher was dirty and we had to use the only tab which was prepared to geht a clean dishwasher. Some more toilet paper would be also nice. Unfortunatly, it was not possible to use the balcony because of construction work at the whole building. As a small suggestion: A kitchen roll should be included in the price.

The tv sound doesn’t work the room smells and the internet didn’t work meaning couldn’t work I’d avoid

If you are planning to travel to London from the US, do NOT stay at Marlin Aldgate Tower Bridge for one reason- they have a policy against holding luggage for early arrival. International flights from the US usually arrive in the early am. So we got there around 9 am. The lady there would not let us leave our luggage at the hotel. She told us the tube station two blocks away could store them. Marlin Aldgate’s policy. We had to carry 12 bags (8 suitcases and smaller bags) to the station, which then told us there was no such thing. We finally found a liquor store nearby that would keep them for roughly $80. I had to leave all my belongings on the day we landed… at a liquor store. Oh, and they also told me if the room was ready early, we could get in for $50. I never expect to get in early… but why if it’s ready? If the room happens to be ready, what is the big deal? We did store all our earthly belongings at the liquor store until around 2:30 in the afternoon. At that point, she did let us get to our room 30 minutes early and graciously waved the charge. We stayed there nine nights. The place was fine besides that. Kitchen, living room, washer and dryer. Clean. Well kept. Good access to public transportation. HOWEVER… don’t stay there if you are coming from the States. I had someone tell me I should’ve asked before booking. I didn’t even know that would be an issue to ask about. But regardless… even if you check and know, why would you want to be in that position?

Apartment was comfortable and clean, reception staff helpful and friendly. View was great. Unfortunately the lift wasn’t working, they had an alternative lift but this had buttons removed, which meant walking to the ground floor from the 8th floor down and travelling up to the 6th but walking two further flights. Not a problem for us but less mobile people would struggle. Reception said it had just happened, another resident said it had been like that for a fortnight. Lots of scaffolding up and boarding up around the building too.

Comfortable, clean, spacious family apartment. Quiet and convenient for Aldgate East tube. Only complaints are that there were no luggage storage facilities - but this wasn’t clear until we had already booked a non-refundable rate - and the rooms were too hot, even though the outdoor temperature was a maximum of 25.

The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and we'll equipment for our stay. The property does not have AC so be cautious during the hot months. I was unaware the property is under major exterior renovation. Be aware Monday through Friday 9-5 the hotel is currently an active construction site. There are no amenities at the apartment building. Close to the tube very convenient. Felt very safe and enjoyed our stay inbLondon.

I booked the apartment to work in during the day, building work was extremely loud all day and there was no internet which we weren’t informed about until the morning. Bins in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied, there were hairs in the bath. Sofas were sofa beds that didn’t fold way properly, scaffolding all around the windows. Overall very disappointing.

I stayed in a 2 bed apartment and was pleasantly surprised by the space. We had plenty of room and more. The staff allowed an early check in and we were happy to pay the extra charge. Everything was in working order and the place was very clean on arrival. Plenty of clean towels for all to use and all appliances in the kitchen were functional too. It was lovely and quiet during the night so we all had a good nights sleep and the place is only a short walk from Aldgate East underground. It wasn’t cold without the heating on during December but the heating was quick to warm the place up anyway and make it cosier. Plenty of heaters around the place, all working. The small supermarket next door was an added bonus. The apartment helped make our weekend in London a very enjoyable one over the festive period. Definitely recommend this place and will be happy to stay again in the future.

The property is in poor condition. Booked 2 apartments there for the travel group. One was in such bad condition with soiled sheets, stained furniture and dirty bathroom that group went to a different hotel. Still waiting on a refund, but there is a lack of response from the property. I would not book an apartment here!

We only stayed one night so was fine for what we needed and didn’t spend much time in the apt. The bathrooms were clean and the rooms. The floors weren’t clean and the blind was missing in the main living area but we used the sofa bed so it would have been better to have it to block the light in the morning. Great location

Would happily recommend the apartment to a single traveler, a couple or a family on a weekend trip. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean with a great kitchen and dining area, and a short walk to Aldgate and Spitalfields. Will definitely stay again in the future

Overall a good property. However, I was not made aware of the mass building work going on outside of the property erecting scaffolding and removing cladding. The drilling and banging was dreadful. Also, the pillow cases were not clean and were covered in yellow marks. The sofa bed in the living room was so uncomfortable when used as a sofa and needs replacing

Decent no frills apartment. Clean and tidy

Clean, spacious, good shower

I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious and modern the apartment was. Location is good, lots of cute small restaurants and coffee shops. Be aware that everything is a-la-carte - early check in, late checkout, extra towels, etc. No air conditioning but the week we were there it was cool enough with just the windows open. Also no linen service unless you stay a full week. There is a washer dryer combo, but ours didn't work. Staff was very nice and helpful too.

Curtains didn’t close in the living room, shower pressure was a bit slow. Great location though

Amazing views from our 14th floor apartment, well equipped with everything you need, very comfortable and clean, great location. All needed is coat hangers in hallway and chairs for balcony 😊

The sofa bed as a couch was not comfortable, the bed was very hard & when I opened the fridge all I could smell was bleach, so I didn't use it. The bathroom was nicely refurbished, but some minor defects remain in the finishing (white grout on tiles & dark paint on white tiles), there was no pressure in the shower, but perhaps due to ongoing renovation works in the building.

It was a pretty good stay. Our apartment was clean and was perfect for what we needed. The only thing I would say is that the couch was really uncomfortable to sit on. The back cushions slid down and exposed the frame of the couch and the fold out bed below.

We stayed for one night in the penthouse. Communication ahead of our stay was very good with front of house staff, but once there, they didn’t want speak at all! No hello, good morning, goodbye….just heads down staring at their computer screens. The lobby and apartment was very tired and dated, but I will add that the room was very clean. Water pressure was non existent, the shower dribble was barely enough to get wet. Overall it wasn’t an awful experience, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Place was great, location was perfect, staff was very attentive. We were on the top floor. Lots of space.

Location was perfect for our plans (Tower of London). Staff extremely friendly and helpful, although the same can't be said for the shop next door who refused to accept our Scottish bank notes!

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. My issue is the building work that was taking place throughout my stay. It appears to be some kind of cladding replacement, scaffolding up the entire outside of the building and builders drilling into the exterior walls between 8am and 5pm. Had I known in advance that the hotel was undergoing building work I'd not have stayed, despite everything else being fine, the fact that this was not disclosed at the booking stage has put me off staying at any Marlin owned apartment again. I retrospectively reached out through hotels.com to the hotel for a partial refund which was refused.

Really pleasant stay here with wife and 16yr old..room was great size, amenities and clean. Location was really good. Less than 5 min walk to tube. Only downside, arrived 1 hr before check in time and asked if room was ready, they said yes, but would have to charge a fee for allowing us to just drop our bags in the room. Thought this was a bit steep, seeing as the room was ready anyway. We decided against paying and had to sit in a food place and get a coffee. I could understand if we turned up 3 or 4 hrs early, but 1 hr didn't justify a fee. Staff were pleasant and welcoming each time we left or came back. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay here again..

The gentleman at the check-in desk was extremely friendly and went above and beyond. He even upgraded our room for a double bedroom because housekeeping had already left for the day and the sofa bed wasn't made. He also recommended a great Indian restaurant that was open after midnight since our check-in was so late.

Our stay in Marlin Aldgate was pleasant. The staff were friendly, and helpful, the hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable and well located, easy access to the train station and surrounded by many restaurants and convenience stores. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit London.

Marlin Apartments provides all the ammenities traveling families need to have the comfort of home. The aldgate location is at the border of the city of London and walking distance to the Tower Bridge, and easy access to District and Elizabeth train lines. The dining options are nearby in Spitafield about a 10 miniute walk.

Great location

Good value apartment for our group of 5 adults. The 2nd bathroom was a must for our group. Apartment floors could have been a tad cleaner, but other than that, it was a great stay. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby and the Tower Bridge was an easy 15 minute walk. 👍

Clean and spacious, lots of closets, fans, lovely views, close to sights and shopping and restaurants, fully stocked convenience store 30 seconds walk from hotel, staff were wonderful

The location is excellent, close to Aldgate East, and the facilities are satisfactory. There's a small supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient for buying essentials or things on the first day. The staff were also friendly. The only downside is that there's a café downstairs, and since it's facing a main road, it can be a bit noisy late at night on some days. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and felt completely at ease, even with children. Aldgate Eastから歩いて近く、建物の下にスーパーもあるので非常に便利。 近くには食料品店も多く問題なし。 スタッフも親切で設備も綺麗なので、子供連れで満足の滞在でした。 唯一、大通りに面しているのと、建物の下にカフェがあることで夜中まで騒がしい日もあるのが残念なくらい。
