Candlewood Suites Hazleton by IHG

Property is built into a mountain. Beautiful views. You enter on the 4th floor with the majority of the rooms on floors below the main floor. No breakfast option. The hotel is being renovated. There was construction materials in the hallways. The hotel will look much nicer when work is completed.

Stayed just over a week. Everyone I encountered was very cheerful and helpful. There is no breakfast but they have a small bodega and the prices are reasonable. Free coffee and hot chocolate. The room was clean and spacious. Mattress was not the best, too soft and tended to sink in the middle. Close to shopping and many restaurants. Next time I am in Hazleton, I will choose this hotel.

The room was clean and the staff was really nice. Adrian was nice and welcoming. There’s a nice small gym and free laundry for guests. The room was much better than what I saw online. I would stay there again.

The guest service desk representative was pleasant, courteous and extremely professional. The young man was a pleasure to deal with any questions I had upon check-in. The hotel hallways and room were immaculate! I loved how it was decorated for fall and halloween. The amenities are perfect, just too bad no indoor pool. I would definitely go back and stay there.

When you check in, the reception area is being renovated. We were told we were on the 4th floor and our room was 4 levels down. It needs a lot of renovations. Being on the ground level had a musty, damp feel. The beds were comfortable but the room needed a good makeover.

Good value. Breakfast is not provided. Friendly staff at the front desk. Many of the rooms have been redone with new flooring, bathroom tiles, vanities and mirror, kitchen cabinets and appliances.

Property was in the middle of a remodel. Clerk kept having to go in separate room during process-would yell questions from that room for us to answer

WE stayed at this hotel in the past, it was always pleasant, but there has been a drastic change in service and cleaning, our room was not cleaned while we stayed there, it was 2 nights. No breakfast, coffee urn in room had a moldy old coffee pod in it. Toilet seat falling off,light bulbs missing in light fixtures, no complementary bathroom soaps,etc. We were so disappointed over all, I had recomended this hotels to other people, I will be calling them and tell them to stay away from this place. Such a shame.

This hotel is dirty. Bathroom fan is clogged with dust and dirt. All wall switches are gross and never washed. Requested extra pillow and after waiting an hour after they said they would bring one, I called. They told me they didn’t have one.

It was very convenient right off the highway. Having a kitchen was also a bonus since I have celiac and travel with my own food. We did eat at the restaurant on site, Diamanti’s, which was delicious but be warned, it was not cheap. The property was recently renovated and was very clean. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the 2nd morning and 2nd night, I was killing small bugs on the bathroom floor (5 in total). They seemed to run into a hole in the left corner where the vanity met the floor.

Most of the apartment was very nice on first look but when I walked around the room I had reservations about the cleaning. My white socks were filthy after walking around the floor for 15 minutes. The floor also was very slippery when walking around in my sneakers. You could easily fall. The towels in the bathroom were very thin and small. They did not dry well overnight.

The property is listed as including breakfast. There are pictures of breakfast offerings in the listing. The moment I checked in, they stated they did not offer breakfast. The room was largely clean but there were some bugs and the tile all over the property and in room was loose and would crunch when you stepped on it. Sheets were clean and bed was comfortable but would pass next time.

Clean room, comfortable bed, roomy, great shower even though it was a tub to step into.

Property was well maintained and clean. Our room was clean, the bed very comfortable. Would stay there again if in that area. Front desk staff was very pleasant

The lamp in the room was moldy and the bathroom was not very clean but spacious room and pet friendly.

It was a nice hotel room, well laid out, and had a little kitchenette, which was very convenient. I particularly like the fact that the floor was not carpeted, which is excellent for people with allergies and asthma. I do wish they’d had breakfast.

The recent improvements, interior do-overs, and upgrades really dressed up the facility and made our stay more enjoyable. The AC fan appeared to be louder than normal, although it did not interfere with our ability to get a good nights sleep.

The fridge in the room was a bit noisy.

The mechanical equipment in our room was equivalent to sleeping in our mechanical room at home….noisy hvac, refrigerator. Not sure we were impressed.

The hotel is right off the route we were traveling, the room featured a fully equipped extended stay kitchenette, albeit we were just driving through for a 1-night stay. The room and bath were ample, comfortable, and the sllep quality was fine too

It was a very noisy room. Heard every toilet flush from rooms beside us as well as the noisy highway right outside our window. The bed felt like you were sleeping upside down. It also leaned towards the middle.

Bathroom door was falling off hinges, but was able to close and lock, toilet seat was very loose, tv didn’t work in living room but we used the one in the bedroom. Restaurant on property was very expensive and chicken served was raw inside, but I don’t think they are connected with the hotel? Overall great stay with some maintenance problems. We would stay there again.

Picked this hotel because the location was within 4 minutes from a wedding we were attending at 3:30pm. Got to the hotel early around 1:45pm hoping for an early check in. Front desk staff told us to come back at 2:30pm when room would be ready. When we checked back with the front desk the attendant said the room will be ready in ten minutes as the room was going through a quality check. While we waited numerous people checked in with no issues. At 3:00pm there was a staff changed and we asked the new attendant about our room and told her that the previous staff said the room would be ready in ten minutes. Upon checking with her cleaning crew we found out the room hasn’t been cleaned yet and would be ready in 15-20 minutes in which we told the attendant we needed to attend a wedding at 3:30pm. My wife had to touch up her makeup in the public restroom because it appeared we would not be able to check into the room in time. The front desk staff apologized and said they are short staff. At 3:25pm the attendant saw our frustration and gave us the room keys and said we can drop off our luggage at the room. When we got to the room they were still cleaning it. It was a very frustrating experience with the amount of lies the front desk kept telling us. We hardly used the room but to sleep. In terms of the room. The bed mattress sank in and looking under the bed the wood support was broken. We ended up waking early to check out. Worst hotel ever

Amazing stay at this hotel! Quiet for my visit, and the view from the window is beautiful. Also, the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

Front desk staff very friendly

The person who checked us in was very nice and personable. I booked two rooms one with two double beds and one with a king size bed. The room with two double beds was fine. The other did not have a king size bed as I reserved. I think in her attempt to get us close to the second room she booked what she could. Would have been better customer experience to either ask if we were ok and if she couldn’t accommodate the reservation make some sort of concession on the price or something. I don’t get what I paid for. Other than that it was fine.

Stay was fine, no issues with the room. Only problem was that the room wasn’t ready for checkin. I had to wait 20+ min after checking in for my room to be cleaned. And it still wasn’t ready when I quit sitting around waiting for staff to tell it was done. I went to the room and they were very much actively cleaning the room and preparing it. I tested the cards to ensure they worked and left for a bit of business.

Began calling property to let them know of late arrival at 8:30pm. No answer. For three hours. Two IHG agents and Hotels.com tried over and over too. No answer. Get there to check in and the guy had checked me out before I checked in. The room was prepaid. I asked about the calls and he said he didn’t get any. But I called prior to walking inside and saw him look at the phone and ignore it. I was given a queen room when I reserved a king suite. No discount. Bed was well, well worn. Rest of the room looked okay. Iron was heavily calcified.

Hotel is getting a new check-in area resulting in no front desk. We were traveling with a dog so requested a king suite on the first floor. In this particular hotel the lobby is on the 4th floor with the first floor is 4 floors down on the elevator with a reluctant and nervous dog. The assigned room was a queen, not the king I reserved. The hotel was fully booked so no change available. Also, no breakfast due to construction. Also, don’t count on streaming as tv is not a smart tv. Basically a good place to stay but, for us, a series of inconveniences. I booked on line. I suggest you call the hotel directly.

We stay here every year for a reunion. The place is clean comfortable and the valley side has fabulous views. The restaurant next door is excellent. Will be back again

Stayed here many times. Conveniently located off I81 and quiet.

Quick easy check in, friendly staff, very clean room. Easy to find and my favorite Diner is about 4 miles away. Also a restaurant next door.
