This was one of the most exceptional stays I’ve had in my entire life. We got a small apartment with two bedrooms, four beds total. There was a fridge and microwave and sink and one bathroom. The AC worked and it was extremely quiet, even with the window open, despite being on a busy pedestrian street. The woman who checked us in was incredibly nice, spoke English, and helped us into our room early. Checkout was lovely too and the free breakfast buffet was very memorable. We’re used to free breakfasts in the US, and this was so much better than that. A buffet of local meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies and eggs. There was a selection of toasts that were just outstanding. The little room where you eat was a real restaurant, with antique clocks hanging everywhere. Our server was so nice and, as almost all coffee in Madrid is, the coffee was just absolutely perfect. The street that the apartments are on is lively, narrow and quaint, exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see when visiting Spain. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re coming to experience something authentic, this is it. I can only imagine the less gleaming reviews are from folks who wanted something cookie cutter. If you have a larger group or family, and want to be in the heart of a thriving part of Madrid, absolutely stay here!
