Stayed here multiple times and found the service, room, gym and pool all excellent. Only issue is the lift. Twice I got stuck until someone else called it to another floor. Talking to a few people at the time seems like it’s not an isolated incident either as they’d experienced similar things. Apart from that all great

Great hotel with pool and facilities . The staff are very helpful and friendly . Breakfast was a bit rubbish and I had tk ask for some fresh items as nothing on the buffet and I was there at 8am . I would Go back tho and it was handy for my trip

We stayed at the Village Hotel Solihull for two nights. The check-in process was straightforward. The room was good overall, reasonably well kept and tidy. We tried to notify staff of issues with the bath/shower not draining properly from the moment we arrived, via their online/QR code, but this didn't work. The bar/restaurant offered staple choices such as burgers, fish & chips and the like. Not outstanding in quality, but fine for our stay. The staff were friendly throughout. One minor gripe. Breakfast on Saturday wasn't replenished after 9am. We had to ask for cups, glasses, and bread to be refilled. A few other tables also had to wait around for these to be brought out. The breakfast itself was okay, although not as much choice as some other hotels tend to offer. We didn't use the pool/gym due to time we had allocated, this is available at an additional cost to those staying in the hotel. It's open to the public, and both appeared to get rather busy in the evenings. Ample parking available outside the hotel, 4 hrs free during the week, free after 5pm. £5 for 24 hours otherwise. I would say though that more needs to be done to curtail those parking on double yellows, pavements, and directly outside the hotel entrance. It wasn't like there weren't spaces across the car park. Lazy people causing obstructions in their selfishness, which may prove difficult for those w/ mobility issues. Word of warning: major redevelopment ongoing during working week.

Village Inn is a chain, so the hotel had a similar feel to others you may have stayed. It was clean, the room was a good size and the housekeeping was excellent. The club area has a cost unless you join the hotel's loyalty or pay for a club room. The pool was a decent size and is often roped for lane swimming. I didn't use the gym but did use the pool, jacuzzi area (not the best I have been in), steam room and sauna. The restaurant area had a good generic menu, service was fast and food tasty. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby so access to a smaller breakfast is possible if you don't want to pay for a full breakfast. A good hotel for what I needed, but it is on the outskirts of Birmingham and has no direct transport links into central Birmingham or the airport.

The pool, sauna and gym are great. Plenty of eating options. The staff are very helpful but there are currently building works going on and we found issues with plumbing in our room. This spoilt the visit for us this time.

There is a gym which is mega popular with locals so there is no room in the car park. I had to drive round for 40+mins for a space to appear

Very brutal architecture. It wasn’t made clear on the Expedia website that the gym was not included in my specific room rate. I selected the hotel due to the gym. So you can imagine how letdown and hoodwinked I felt when told it was a chargeable extra.

Firstly, just to say there seemed to be plenty of people staying in the hotel having a perfectly good time so may just be my experience. My experience however was not very good - I arrived late in the evening and went to my room to discover a filthy toilet - use your imagination - and tried to get another room however there were no rooms so had to wait for it all to be cleaned. The guy at the desk was very apologetic and tried to help…the night manager (?) was less warm but perhaps having a bad day or understandably not happy about having to clean the loo at midnight. I overheard that the room hadn’t been used for a couple of months (I dread to think why and also I explains the state of the gift left for me in the loo) which showed as the room was dusty with a couple of dead insects in the bed. Shower was also clogged up (insert crying emoji) and to top it off the Starbucks was closed for refurb so no coffee. Ouch. The gym facilities are good. All things and people have a bad day so could just be one of those. Gave a star because the guy at the desk gave me a free bottle of water from the closed bar as couldn’t find anywhere else to get one! Don’t leave reviews but I find them helpful when I choose hotels so felt obliged in this occasion. Feedback is a gift!

My room had dried up vomit on the side of my bed and on the carpet the dirtbin reeked of vomit and had been poorly rinsed out. I went to reception to relay my dissatisfaction and asked for the bin to be removed to which they said they would get it cleaned as they couldnt transfer me to another rom due to being fully booked. A couple of hours later returning to my room nothing had been done about this and there was still vomit on the bed and floor and the smelly bin was still in my room. I had to stay in this room for 2 nights like this and even attempted cleaning it myself. I would not recommend staying here!

I cannot give a good overall rating to this room unfortunately, whilst the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable the bathroom was not cleaned properly and the toilet in particular was quite filthy. Will not be staying here again

Very tired room - Room was dirty, carpets were tired and not hoovered, armchair had rubbish behind it, scum around shower areas, doorframes badly scuffed and damaged and desperately in need of decorating. Loud banging from outside like pipes were rattling all night on top of flat roof. Terrible WiFi signal that kept dropping out making it hard to complete any work. Overall, the hotel is desperately in need of decorating and carpets replacing. Such a shame as the staff were lovely, but the overall hotel let them down

I stay away often via Hotels.com and have never left a bad review, however the cleanliness of the room I stayed in was below disgusting, when I lifted the toilet seat there was urine that clearly hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. The desk in the room which I worked from on my laptop was thick with dust (i mean thick) i had a get some damp toilet paper and clean it myself. The room didn't have a TV remote so i had to request one. I have stayed at other Village hotels and there has never been an issue. I 100% wouldn't feel comfortable returning to this one.

Bin in hotel had used Tampons in on arrival. Pubic hair all over the bathroom floor. Had to change my own bed sheets as there was blood on them and no one was working in housekeeping. Was promised a call by a manage the following day - still waiting! I should have learned from previous stay as there was a used condom under the bed - they clearly don't clean the rooms or change sheets.

Room had someone’s old socks in, there was moisture and condensation constantly on the windows, the bar and restaurant was chronically unstaffed and took ages to get served let alone get your order, the breakfast was pretty pathetic for the price point.

The hotel in the downstairs is nice but the corridors and lift area needs cleaning. There was dirty dishes and rubbish left outside a lot of rooms and there was rubbish on floor in the lift area. The service in reception by receptionists leave a lot to be desired. On arrival they told us that hotel was closing for the day on Sunday early so we had to vacate earlier than normal. We were told everyone had been contacted. I explained I hadn’t and was told it was because I had not booked directly with them and through a third party so it was my fault I couldn’t be contacted. Absolute zero apologies and made to feel my fault - happy to take money from a third party though. Told us they could cancel booking that was it if not happy which bit acceptable when already arrived. No responsibility taken so would say customer service in reception area needs a lot of work. Had a meal in bar area which was very good but very loud with drunk men around which made me feel anxious so left early and three lots of bouncers which I’ve never experienced in a hotel before so makes me wonder about the clientele. Lady on swimming pool reception was absolutely brilliant and reception staff could learn from her kind and caring nature!!! TV is very old so only terrestrial channels available so update needed or opportunity to watch Netflix would be useful in an evening

I've stayed a this hotel for many years but sorry to report that I was disappointed on my last stay. The rooms are looking tired now and need some attention. Sink and shower didn't drain, shower head was filthy. Needs sorting ASAP

the facilities of the hotel / gym were generally very good. I stayed during the a hot spell and the air-conditioning in my room did not work, making it quite uncomfortable. i reported this and was advised it was due to a local power cut. Colleagues staying in the hotel at the same time did not experience any issue and it was visibly clear that the air conditioning key pad in my room was broken with a black screen.

Very tired room - Room was dirty, carpets were tired and not hoovered, armchair had rubbish behind it, scum around shower areas, doorframes badly scuffed and damaged and desperately in need of decorating. Loud banging from outside like pipes were rattling all night on top of flat roof. Terrible WiFi signal that kept dropping out making it hard to complete any work. Overall, the hotel is desperately in need of decorating and carpets replacing. Such a shame as the staff were lovely, but the overall hotel let them down

Not a great start after a 6-hour drive from Glasgow, arriving at 10:15pm to check in......only to be told due to the hotel being fully booked that my room wasnt ready and had to wait a further 20 minutes in reception. I booked here for a stop during our trip to crufts. Was very tidy and nice hotel, the staff were ok the first night but then the second day there was a problem with a payment for car park so we received a note under the door. It was the staff the day before that didn’t process the payment properly. The member of staff called Gemma went above and beyond on the second day she needs to be commended. Thankyou!

Stay here most weeks with work, usually good, but recently service in bar and restaurant has ben really poor. Stayed on 26th September and one person serving in restaurant for both food and drink, card machine didnt work stood in long queue for 20 mins just to order meal and a pint!! A disaster, I arrived late to the property to discover that there was a loud, raucous late-night drinking session going on in reception. That was not the worst part, the Hotel has a policy of overbooking on the rooms, so at 11 p.m., I found out that I would need to go to another hotel. But don't worry - I won't be charged any extra. The hotel in question was 20 minutes further away from where I needed to be in the morning. I was offered no assistnace in getting there. And the replacement hotel did not have the facilities I had paid extra to access. Over 50 hours later and I am still waiting to hear from the hotel. No follow-up, no compensation. I would avoid at all costs.

The hotel in the downstairs is nice but the corridors and lift area needs cleaning. There was dirty dishes and rubbish left outside a lot of rooms and there was rubbish on floor in the lift area. The service in reception by receptionists leave a lot to be desired. On arrival they told us that hotel was closing for the day on Sunday early so we had to vacate earlier than normal. We were told everyone had been contacted. I explained I hadn’t and was told it was because I had not booked directly with them and through a third party so it was my fault I couldn’t be contacted. Absolute zero apologies and made to feel my fault - happy to take money from a third party though. Told us they could cancel booking that was it if not happy which bit acceptable when already arrived. No responsibility taken so would say customer service in reception area needs a lot of work. Had a meal in bar area which was very good but very loud with drunk men around which made me feel anxious so left early and three lots of bouncers which I’ve never experienced in a hotel before so makes me wonder about the clientele. Lady on swimming pool reception was absolutely brilliant and reception staff could learn from her kind and caring nature!!! TV is very old so only terrestrial channels available so update needed or opportunity to watch Netflix would be useful in an evening

Where to start with this hotel... Ordered room service, didn't arrive, no one picks up the phone or live chat, went down to reception, they don't have what I ordered. Order something different and get charged twice. Refund takes 2 months and hours of chasing to arrive. Bathroom was mouldy, extractor fan broken probably for some time, shower screen didn't fit the shower so floods the bathroom. Complained during my stay - nothing. Complained to management on check out - nothing. Tried to call the hotel to follow up on refunds for well over a week - no answer. Email customer service - no response. Finally get hold of customer service on the phone - passed to management and promised a refund...which never arrived. Do yourself a favour and stay at one of the MANY other local hotels. 2 months down the line and in still owed a refund and hours of my life back in compensation.

Village Inn is a chain, so the hotel had a similar feel to others you may have stayed. It was clean, the room was a good size and the housekeeping was excellent. The club area has a cost unless you join the hotel's loyalty or pay for a club room. The pool was a decent size and is often roped for lane swimming. I didn't use the gym but did use the pool, jacuzzi area (not the best I have been in), steam room and sauna. The restaurant area had a good generic menu, service was fast and food tasty. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby so access to a smaller breakfast is possible if you don't want to pay for a full breakfast. A good hotel for what I needed, but it is on the outskirts of Birmingham and has no direct transport links into central Birmingham or the airport.

Amazing experience but not enough facilities around (nothing to do with the hotel) just to warn that you will be dependent on Ubereqtse and Uber if you do not have your own mean of transport. Apart from that, I love simple the self-checkin process was. The pool is fabulous (+ jacuzzi) and the gym has the latest equipment. Will definitely recommend.

Driving in it appeared there was lots of building work going on all around so a little apprehensive but all fine, no noise or dust and nice quiet location. Lots of parking and usual good range of coffee shops and check in easy. Having stayed in a few Village hotels this one was by far the shabbiest. Room not great, stained carpets and torn blind. Shower didnt drain away and a few light bulbs needed changing. I was only sleeping there and out all day so not massive issues but wouldnt stay there again.

I stayed 2 days at the Village Inn Solihul and it was a great experience. Friendly & informative staff, trendy bedrooms and an excellent full English breakfast in the morning! Very competitive price for all one gets in the price.

We stayed at the Village Hotel Solihull for two nights. The check-in process was straightforward. The room was good overall, reasonably well kept and tidy. We tried to notify staff of issues with the bath/shower not draining properly from the moment we arrived, via their online/QR code, but this didn't work. The bar/restaurant offered staple choices such as burgers, fish & chips and the like. Not outstanding in quality, but fine for our stay. The staff were friendly throughout. One minor gripe. Breakfast on Saturday wasn't replenished after 9am. We had to ask for cups, glasses, and bread to be refilled. A few other tables also had to wait around for these to be brought out. The breakfast itself was okay, although not as much choice as some other hotels tend to offer. We didn't use the pool/gym due to time we had allocated, this is available at an additional cost to those staying in the hotel. It's open to the public, and both appeared to get rather busy in the evenings. Ample parking available outside the hotel, 4 hrs free during the week, free after 5pm. £5 for 24 hours otherwise. I would say though that more needs to be done to curtail those parking on double yellows, pavements, and directly outside the hotel entrance. It wasn't like there weren't spaces across the car park. Lazy people causing obstructions in their selfishness, which may prove difficult for those w/ mobility issues. Word of warning: major redevelopment ongoing during working week.

nice hotel like the other Village hotels, very bust as part of the village gym/pool relaxation services etc. apart from breakfast on my checkout day - the only staff member i could see was talking to someone at the bar for severla minutes while i was at the wait to be seated for my pre-paid breakfast. i decided to just take a seat (amongst the 20 tables that had not been cleaned after previous guests) and had my breakfast over the next 20 minutes seeing 1 member of staff in this time and nobody said anything to me and i left without word. i could have save the breakfast cost and just sneaked in there as nobody was on duty checking anything or noticed me getting a full breakfast. Starbucks on site was great. my other Village stay in Swansea on the same trip was a far better experience.

Booked because there is a pool and my wife wanted to use this for exercise before breakfast and a long drive home. Told not to take towels from the room for the pool when we checked in as there are towels provided for that in the pool/gym. When going to the pool in the morning, -No towels in the pool so, we were told to go and get towels from our room. I asked if one of the three people on the desk could get some from house keeping to save us the 5 minutes running up to the room and back (lift slow and quite busy on a sunday morning understandably room was the other end of the building). Told no and they don't have any towels left in the at all. Surprised that between 3 personnel on a reception desk not one had the ability to grab a couple of towels for a customer. Bed good, room good, and clean/modern hotel though. With towels at the pool would be even better.
