Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers Airport/FGCU

Very convenient location to fort myers airport. Many restaurants within walking distance.

The room was beautiful and clean. I have stayed at hotels where the colors and decor were not pleasant to look at. The room was clean and simple. The staff was amazing and always fulfilled every request. The airport shuttle was awesome, and the drivers were my kind of guys, super friendly and wanting to help. The shuttle even took me to my doctor's appt. which was so helpful. We ate at the restaurant within the hotel and found the food good. The waiter was again very friendly and wanting to do whatever it took to make out stay special.

We stayed on the 4th floor, when we got off of the elevator there was a musky odor. Then we got to our room and opened the door, there was a mildew smell, they had the A/C on 70 degrees, my thought is to keep the smell down as much as possible. The smell was very prevalent. When we first arrived the initial person at the counter was like every other young person in this day and age, unable to communicate with people, such as I ask how is your day, and get nothing in return. The more experienced person took notice of the interaction, her name was Favi, she then stepped over and was very nice and helpful. The initial person continued to stand there and remain with a blunted affect, while not speaking. I understand the times that we live in, but we need to manage our expectations and employees in a better manner, someone with no people skills probably should be in a position where they have no or minimal interaction with people.

We've stayed at this hotel many times because our son attends FGCU. Usually everything is quite well. But Saturday night they had an social event downstairs and there was no parking. I mentioned a transport van had taken up 5 parking spaces. They said that he'd paid for those spaces, and we don't pay for parking. Our only option was to park at a restaurant across the street and we are on our own. To say the least I told them I disagreed with their point of view.

My stay at the Garden inn was perfect. From the moment I entered the lobby I was greeted by staff. Check-in was fast and efficient. The room was clean, quiet and had a very comfortable bed. The location was a short walk the gulf coast plaza. I would definitely recommend.
