It was very welcoming from front door to reception As for receptionist she was amazing giving us a tour and historical insight to the building. Explaining everything from car park pass to breakfast options and evening meals . Food was cooked to perfection we opted for the carvery witch was fantastic. The selection of bar drinks where plentiful. Our room are very clean and very comfortable with every thing you would need , plus if in need they have a night porter at your request .

Lovely little pub. Only 11 rooms. Basic but nice and clean room tidied and fresh coffee making facilities every day.Easy check in. Stayed Monday to Thursday so didnt need the supplied ear plugs this is a live band pub at the weekend. Busy during the week. Pub menu 2 for £20 2 courses and a free drink each. Cant go wrong. Staff were friendly and helpful, special thank you to Natalia and the breakfast guy. Would definitely use as a base again.

Nice hotel staff were really friendly parking could be a little more clearer that there is additional spaces around the back of pub, room was of a nice size it was clean & bed comfortable, the not so good was the road noise, obviously that's hard to get away from being a high street pub, no privacy in bathroom window could of benefitted with something up at the window, breakfast was ok but did taste chargrilled in places, gentleman serving was friendly other than that it was a pleasant stay for 1night.

My heart sank when I checked in and was told there would be a disco from 10pm to 1am, it was a Friday night so really what could I expect. From my room I could actually hear very little and the bed was really comfy so I slept like a log. Very impressed overall, great stay.

Stayed here two nights. Had a nice room and bath. Did not have any noise problems. Able to park in their little lot both nights. Breakfast was fine. Ate both nights in the pub and the food was very good. Specials each night made it a good option. Really like the cauliflower wings!

On arrival the service was brilliant, we were shown to our room - a large room with 2 single beds and a double sofa bed and not cramped at all! The hotel is old, but very clean. The music from the pub can be heard on their late opening on a Saturday, however, we got back late from a wedding and fell asleep through it, so didn't effect out stay. The breakfast was lovely and the waiter on both mornings was really cheeful. It also has free parking for hotel guests. We would stay again.

Check in was great, the gentleman who checked us in was helpful and enthusiastic. Parking is at the back of the hotel and you get a pass to park for free, which was good. It's an old building so expect uneven floors, creaks and quirks as part of its charm. The food is pub grub and reasonably priced. We stayed in room 1 which is large room directly above the main entrance and looks out to the street. It was really hot during the 2 days we stayed so windows had to be open as no aircon (which you wouldn't expect in an old place like this) . Unfortunately it meant very little sleep as all we could hear was drunk and loud people shouting outside the place way into the early hours the next day, plus the traffic. There were ear plugs provided on the tea tray so we can't be the only ones who didn't appreciate the racket outside. The staff were all nice and helpful so can't fault them at all. The lack of sleep ruined our break away so this isn't the place for us and we won't return the next time we come to March. If you are the type of person that doesn't awake even if there was a brass band in your room then you'll be fine.

We had a great break at the ye old griffin Pub,the staff were reall nice and was willing to help in any way,the food was good ,we had dinner and breakfast the staff were really polite and helpful ,we couldn’t fined any faults with our stay there and we would certainly recommend it to any one ,in town and very convenient.Hotel was clean and tidy every where.

The hotel is convenient in the centre of town. The room was a good size and had all we needed for the night. The shower was problematic with the water temperature wildly changing from ice cold to scalding so it wasn’t the best shower experience. That said it was clean and we had a good nights sleep

A great stay at the Griffin whilst visiting family in the area. Room was comfortable, comfy bed and pillows, grerat shower and friendly staff. The room was a little warm due to the weather but fans and a sheet, rather than a duvet to sleep under provided. Breakfast was good but a later serving time than 0900 would be helpful!

Stayed here to go to a 60th birthday party in the area. Very friendly staff good facilities & a lovely clean room. We are a couple in our late 50’s and the loud music mentioned did not bother us at all. In fact I slept later than I normally do. Very comfortable beds

Stayed Monday to Thursday so didnt need the supplied ear plugs this is a live band pub at the weekend. Busy during the week. Pub menu 2 for £20 2 courses and a free drink each. Cant go wrong. Staff were friendly and helpful, special thank you to Natalia and the breakfast guy. Would definitely use as a base again.

Shocked how great this place was as its so cheap. Food was amazing at a fantastic price. Drinks at a pocket friendly price for a change. Wish you was local I would come all the time cheaper than a weekly food shop. Staff all great nothing to dislike love to see someone getting right for a change .

We stayed over as we had a family funeral. The service at this hotel was excellent. We stayed on a Wednesday night and we had the Carvery which was excellent. Best night sleep in the comfortable bed. Natalia was most helpful organising a taxi for us to the station.

Very friendly and professional staff, really nice room overlooking main street which was ‘lively’ with revellers until about 2am because of weekend music. Good breakfast. Very enjoyable stay.

We had a great break at the ye old griffin Pub,the staff were reall nice and was willing to help in any way,the food was good ,we had dinner and breakfast the staff were really polite and helpful ,we couldn’t fined any faults with our stay there and we would certainly recommend it to any one ,in town and very convenient.Hotel was clean and tidy every where.

Nice hotel staff were really friendly parking could be a little more clearer that there is additional spaces around the back of pub, room was of a nice size it was clean & bed comfortable, the not so good was the road noise, obviously that's hard to get away from being a high street pub, no privacy in bathroom window could of benefitted with something up at the window, breakfast was ok but did taste chargrilled in places, gentleman serving was friendly other than that it was a pleasant stay for 1night.

Check in was great, the gentleman who checked us in was helpful and enthusiastic. Parking is at the back of the hotel and you get a pass to park for free, which was good. It's an old building so expect uneven floors, creaks and quirks as part of its charm. The food is pub grub and reasonably priced. We stayed in room 1 which is large room directly above the main entrance and looks out to the street. It was really hot during the 2 days we stayed so windows had to be open as no aircon (which you wouldn't expect in an old place like this) . Unfortunately it meant very little sleep as all we could hear was drunk and loud people shouting outside the place way into the early hours the next day, plus the traffic. There were ear plugs provided on the tea tray so we can't be the only ones who didn't appreciate the racket outside. The staff were all nice and helpful so can't fault them at all. The lack of sleep ruined our break away so this isn't the place for us and we won't return the next time we come to March. If you are the type of person that doesn't awake even if there was a brass band in your room then you'll be fine.

The hotel is convenient in the centre of town. The room was a good size and had all we needed for the night. The shower was problematic with the water temperature wildly changing from ice cold to scalding so it wasn’t the best shower experience. That said it was clean and we had a good nights sleep

A great stay at the Griffin whilst visiting family in the area. Room was comfortable, comfy bed and pillows, grerat shower and friendly staff. The room was a little warm due to the weather but fans and a sheet, rather than a duvet to sleep under provided. Breakfast was good but a later serving time than 0900 would be helpful!

On arrival the service was brilliant, we were shown to our room - a large room with 2 single beds and a double sofa bed and not cramped at all! The hotel is old, but very clean. The music from the pub can be heard on their late opening on a Saturday, however, we got back late from a wedding and fell asleep through it, so didn't effect out stay. The breakfast was lovely and the waiter on both mornings was really cheeful. It also has free parking for hotel guests. We would stay again.

Very old characterful hotel in the middle of March. Shops, pubs and other eateries just minutes away. Plenty of parking in the hotel's courtyard. Food good, plenty of choice and very good customer service and not to forget extremely dog friendly. My dog loved it. Thank you to all.
