Days Inn Taunton

I give the accommodation 3 stars only as it would have been nice to have had a refrigerator to keep the milk safe and usable. Also the BBC1 channel had no sound at all just a picture.Also, the shower should have been easier getting in and out of, my wife being disabled could not have a shower.

Food options at site limited, particularly off season and at night. Only accessible from the southbound carriageway of the M5. Otherwise a comfortable bed for a couple of nights fulfilling requirements.

In a motorway service area, so handy as a night stop.

Basic Accomodation. A little dated but not bad for the price. Needed a quiet space to do a very long assessment for work. It was adequate

The hotel was easy to get to and park being at a motorway services. Receptionist was polite and helpful and the room was quite and comfortable. I was pleased that there was a bath as well as the shower. Many places don't have baths anymore. The room was a bit dated but everything worked and was clean. Very good value at a cheap price...

Location good. Had all facilities and wifi. Well located but secluded at the same time. Had service shops beside which was useful. Bed was comfortable and clean.

The room wasnt very clean, had bugs and a slug on the windowsil. But the staff were very friendly and the bed was the comfiest i have ever slept in

Lovely welcome and the room was sufficient for our needs. The decor is dated, with stained woodworm. We had a double and single bed but my daughter choose to sleep with me as she noted the bedding was dirty on the single.

Hotel very dated, had an awful odour throughout, dirty, mouldy, hole in the wall, squashed flies stuck to the wall, I could go on. I arrived fairly late due to a late flight, was just stopping overnight to save driving home tired. But I wish I'd carried on driving! I was woken in the early hours by some very noisy, aggressive guests and although this is no fault of the hotel it didn't exactly make add to the already poor stay.

Wasn't perfectly clean. Didn't really upset my trip though.

The room had a bad smell

Spacious, clean, convenient and well priced.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our family room was perfect for a quick overnight stay. Very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable double bed, great powerful shower. Will definitely stay again.

Check in was straightforward and chap was friendly . Very spacious room. But no plugs by the bed which meant my phone and medical equipment was on the desk

Room was not very clean. The beds were tired n not comfortable. Didn’t sleep very well. By the morning my back was breaking. Very disappointing

A clean, quiet, comfy room with plenty of space and a good bathroom. I didn’t need any frills or special features so I was really pleased with this hotel.

For what we paid and what we needed this for it was an excellent location and stop off for our journey. One of the beds was very very soft which want to my liking but otherwise everything was absolutely fine and we will use again if making a similar trip.

Large comfortable room ,well equipped and a lovely shower. I was surprised how quiet it was given how close to the motorway it was. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, in particular Ash on reception

Building was very tired. Beds had very poor mattresses. Windows were blown and mouldy Generally run down. Won't stay there again

Very basic - barebones - you don't even get breakfast you get a voucher for nearby poor food in services so I just find somewhere else to eat. Basic rooms, very soft beds which isn't great for back, but at least working Wi-Fi and shower, even if the temperature tap is a bit hard to get right. But it was barely £30-£35 a night so you get what you paid for, at that money it does the job fine, you expect literally just a bed to sleep in. However the walls are WAFER THIN! You can hear everything nearby, including couples rabbiting on and having sex........yes I'm not kidding.

It's functional and cheapish and you get what that brings. Basically a bunch of rooms gathered together along corridors. The beds, we had two rooms, were all awful, as was the linen, my duvet weighed about 60lbs! The room I used was in particular need of refurbishment, but seemed reasonably clean. Frankly, I wouldn't choose to return. As I say, the beds should be condemned.

Very comfortable accessible room. Reception staff member was very helpful and pleasant when I arrived. He helped with my luggage as I am a wheelchair user.

Booking and payment through Expedia all fine, though no option to pay dog surcharge which instead had to be paid directly to the hotel at check in. Thats where the problem started. Unclear if new to the role, but receptionist too casual in their behaviour, inefficient and slow managing check in and what I was to discover 5 days later an expensive experience which has been put down to “human error” having discovered my card had been charged by Roadchef without my knowledge or authorisation for an amount nearly 3 times the cost of the booking. They’ve dealt with my complaint swiftly and arranged a refund but only because I noticed it and brought the matter to their attention. Doing so hasn’t been straightforward as ringing the hotel finds no one there to take the call and messages not returned; email contact more successful though anonymous as no staff name is provided so you have no idea who you’re communicating with. The property itself is showing its age; in the room paintwork is chipped and peeling; windows have broken handles and are stiff to open the few centimetres that are possible; furniture is dated, mattresses aged and uncomfortable, pillows past their best. The bedroom and bathroom was clean and towels and linen clean. Poor sound insulation in rooms; No opportunity to replenish tea/coffee and no one at reception/reception closed when we checked out at 08:00am. Located in the M5 southbound service area means limited on site dining options and facilities.

We had a very comfortable nights stay. Plenty of hot water, comfortable beds and very peaceful and quiet. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A minor issue with the shower was dealt with superbly by the manager Mark who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. In fact, couldn’t have asked for a more caring team. The room was a little tired in places but we believe it’s in the pipeline for a makeover. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to Mark and the team.

The staff went out of their way to make sure our late arrival was not a problem.

Staff wre extremely nice and helpful. They made sure that we had a grounf floor room - with easy access due to my husband's mobility.

Able to check in very late, flexibility was much appreciated after a very long drive.

Unfortunately I have forgotten his name. The person on reception was welcoming, happy, and incredibly helpful. He was on duty on my previous stay. I was pleased to see him once again.

The room had seen better days but was quite adequate. The booking process through Hotels.com was appalling: incorrect & contradictory information given, but all explained and sorted out by the manager of the Days Inn.

Convenient, clean and well priced

Very handy position just off the M5,some background road noise if you are a light sleeper.More noise from inside the Hotel,banging doors ,raised voices until well after midnight. Property in need of some upgrade and TLC throughout Get what you pay for ! Cheap but not very cheerful Concerning that the towel heater was wrapped in masking tape as it was not working,clearly a Health and Safety,fire risk !,

Great stopover on the M5 south of Bristol and north of Exeter

Staff were super helpful & kind, room was clean and tidy, mall outside with Costa, M&S etc… However there was a terrible smell in the hotel and in the room which I could see the hotel had tried to put air freshener plugs around but this was not masking it as it was truly unacceptable smell

The front desk manager, Ash, was extremely helpful and nice. He gave an excellent dinner recommendation and offered great sights to see in the area.
