Die Pension ist schön gelegen, das Frühstück sehr gut (man wählt am Vorabend das warme Essen aus), die Gastgeber freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer selbst ist nicht erholsam: eine Badewanne steht im Zimmer direkt vor dem Fenster: beim Duschen wird fast alles nass und man kann kaum das Ausstellfenster bedienen - das Zimmer wird sehr warm, da auch die Sonne ab Nachmittag direkt aufs Fenster scheint. Es gibt keinen Stuhl oder Sessel, keinen Tisch zum Schreiben oder daran zu essen. Es gibt viele Kleiderbügel im Schrank, aber als Wanderer kann man eigentlich nichts auswaschen,- wo will man die nassen Sachen aufhängen? Außerdem ist es sehr hellhörig, man hlrt jedes Wasserrauschen der Nachbarn. Eigentlich eine schöne Unterkunft - vielleicht in einem anderen Zimmer als Nr.7. Eigentluch ganz nett, aber

We had a lovely short stay at the Sunrise. The hosts contacted us prior to arrival to forewarn us of the road closures for the Bude Carnival and allowing us flexibility with check in (should we have required it) because of the event. When arriving we were met with a warm and friendly welcome. We had a wonderful stay and the breakfasts both mornings were excellent. The B&B is decorated to a high standard and has a lovely cosy welcoming feel. Would recommend and will stay there again on future visits.

An exemplary five‑star experience. Our host for the week Kara was excellent throughout our stay. Every detail was considered, including the thoughtful addition of an extra tea bag to accommodate my preference for stronger tea. The room — and indeed the entire establishment — was immaculate, fresh, and warmly inviting (the locally produced crockery was a nice touch). Breakfast offered a variety of options, each prepared to a consistently high standard. The scrambled eggs with salmon were particularly noteworthy. A further highlight was the morning toast, made with Kara’s homemade bread that set the tone for the day. The overall experience was so impressive that we confirmed our booking for next year before departing. Highly recommended — a genuine 5 ⭐️

The owner was absolutely lovely! I had some inspiring conversations with her when I was breakfasting on my own about some travel destinations that interest me and that she has been to. I couldn't fault this place really other than I was staying during unprecedented heatwave and my attic room was very hot. Something that cannot be helped though, I appreciate!
