Very comfortable big and clean room. Free bar. Free laundry. Good Executive Lounge with well stocked drinks, wines and finger foods. Friendly staff. Conveniently located next to malls, shops and food outlets.

I think the G Spot Bar on level 3 should have a in-house pianist . This pianist can either just play sentimental or soothing music pieces or can play and sing . I am sure this will liven up the place.

Loved our stay here. We had access to the executive lounge and evening nibbles and drinks were a welcome retreat after a busy day. Staff were ver accommodating and made us feel like we were most welcome.

I always stay here as it’s close for me to walk to Gleneagles hospital, the rooms are spacious, gym is great. Enjoy dining although last time I did find the dining/bar cold.

Very nice hotel. Room is starting to feel older now, but location is still great. Food is good. Executive lounge staff is very nice, food selection In executive lounge could be better. Parking ticket system seems to have issues . But overall good location and nice staff.

Had a turn-down service on the first night, which was a lovely throwback, but didn't happen on the following nights. Very comfy bed. Service at the bar was good, didn't eat in the hotel. Beautifully designed swimming pool with a view across the south of the city towards the hills. Room was supposed to be sea view - and to be fair, it was, but there was a huge construction project with masses of land reclamation between what had been the beach road and the hotel. Fortunately, given the holiday period, the construction noise was not too intrusive. Until the construction period is over, I wouldn't really recommend this location for a holiday, though the malls that surround it are great and the food court in the basement of the mall next door was amazing.

Vi hade en mycket trevlig vistelse på G Hotel Gurney. Redan vid incheckningen fick vi ett fantastiskt första intryck – vi blev varmt välkomnade, incheckningen tog knappt fem minuter och som en extra trevlig gest blev vi bjudna på glass. Efter en incident under vistelsen blev vi uppgraderade till en finare svit och fick dessutom frukost inkluderad under resten av vår tid på hotellet. Vi blev även lovade en framtida uppgradering, vilket vi verkligen uppskattade. Det som gjorde störst intryck var hur professionellt och omtänksamt hotellet hanterade situationen. Vi kände oss mycket väl omhändertagna och hotellets ledning tog oss på stort allvar. Hotellet är dessutom väldigt rent och fräscht, med daglig städning som höll rummet i toppskick under hela vistelsen. All personal vi mötte var mycket trevlig, hjälpsam och serviceinriktad. Läget är också väldigt bra, med närhet till det mesta och smidig tillgång till omgivningarna. Sammanfattningsvis är vi mycket nöjda med vår vistelse och kan varmt rekommendera G Hotel Gurney.

Stayed here for 3 nights with family from the UK as we were visiting some family who live here. Room was dirty, sheets and towels were stained. Air con unit fell off the wall when I turned it on. One night we dined in the restaurant and it took 2 hours for us to get our food. We were served mutton instead of chicken and the very rude waiter insisted that we had ordered what was made, despite us not eating mutton. It turns out he had pressed the wrong button when submitting to the kitchen. The same waiter also refused to serve us drinks as “we didn’t want any earlier” when he had asked and were waiting for the rest of the party to turn up. When we did order, one glass of juice also took an hour to arrive.Asked to speak to the manager the next day and was told to wait in the reception for 35 minutes as he was “on his way shortly”. He did not turn up, and it turned out he was never contacted to be told we were waiting. One banana and apple were left in our room as an apology gesture. This was the first time we were seeing our family since covid and the G hotel utterly ruined the evening for all of us, we left hungry. My 1 year old nephew was also not served his food for 2 hours and was very distressed as it was 10pm so ruined the atmosphere for other guests. Overall experience was so poor we have had to find alternate accomodation for the rest of our stay in Penang. Hotel that has not put any effort into being of quality, hard to believe its rated one of the best in the area!!

Shower water splashes onto the shower entrance floor which eventually makes bathroom floor wet & uncomfortable - a design issue. Also, breakfast was paid for, not free. The breakfast menu were quite similar for our 6 days 5 nights stay - could be improved.

Great hotel rooms. But some thought needs to be given to the bathrooms - specifically the shower cubicles. Poor drainage leads to flooding over the rest of the bathroom. Perhaps a covered strip gutter drainage would be of better use in channeling all the water sprayed out by that powerful shower head for a wonderful shower.

Excellent! Booked 2 rooms, one twin and the other is superior king. Both are clean, spacious esp the superior king. Service are friendly and buffet breakfast is excellent. The only improvement can be made is the drainage on shower as we have to kind of wait for th water to go down the drainage when showering and also the lighting on the room can be brighter. But apart from that everything else is perfect. Location wide also great with connecting to gurney plaza shoping centre.

The room is spacious but the lighting is too dark. The hair dryer is weak for ladies.

Room are Newly renovated. Bed are comfortable. Staff are very friendly. Excellent location 😀 connected to the shopping mall 👍

Slightly above average hotel. I got the L-suite, which is spacious but the interior and furniture quality was average at best. Sofa was sagging, although bed was comfortable. Room lighting was not very inviting. Be warned of their laundry service: DO NOT let them iron your clothes. They did a horrible job at ironing and ruined my polo shirts. Whichever local company they use to service the laundry should be fired.

Had a very pleasant stay, with powerful showers and a lillow menu. We opted for the sea facing view, but mainly saw construction. The Delux rooms while largish at 380sf are still a bit basic.

The check in on day 1 spoilted the stay. The manager (I guessed as she is with a coat) at the reception was rude and unhappy when being told that the access card failed to work a couple of time. Don't even bother to say sorry, instead put up a black face. Just gave me the card without any further comments like executive lounge location, wifi pw etc.... Nevertheless, rest of staffs are nice and friendly.

Always feel great like back home. Staffs are all friendly and attentive. Especially glad that Derek always remember me whenever I am back. Compliment to him for his high level of professionalism.

Great hotel except some communication issue from the management - have to move to G Hotel Kelawai, as we never receive any notice nor email that they shut down a/c from 11 to 6pm, no WiFi, outlet electricity not working. We have another family room booked through their website, when we check in, we were never informed about the shutdown. On the positive note - front desk staff - Erra （ i think）was amazing - she make arrangement for 1 temp room and move us to kelawai due to the inconvenience. She work tirelessly making all the arrangement， transport us back and forward ！ Overall not bad - but with the Marriott down the street，They need to do some catching up on the communication！

We stay 2 nights at this hotel and were particularly impressed with their hotel manager’s (Derek) above and beyond service level. He made sure we were comfortable and feel very welcome. Thx Derek

Rang the guest service centre for nearly half an hour for room dine in request, however, no one pick up. Had to go down to lobby to request for room dine in service and was told one only staff working so no one pick up the call. A 5 star hotel with only 1 staff working at guest service centre??

Staff were helpful, courteous, friendly & polite. We had help from the concierge especially a staff name Jay. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of varieties & choices.

Have stayed at g hotel 8 years ago, this is my second time and I think it still stays the same, new looking, clean, comfortable and convenient. Great swimming pool for a city hotel. Right next to the mall.

the breakfast buffet spread is good. i m pleased that the buffet is ready by 6am, for me to grab a quick bite before leaving for taman negara penang.

Nice and clean hotel at good location. Customer service was friendly and good. However, aircon in the room is a bit too cold despite tuning down the fan speed and temperature. Breakfast buffet wasn't great in term of the variety of food and taste. Would consider G Hotel again in my next visit.
