Kensington Olympia

The price and the location are good. The room is small but adequate for our needs. The check-in process was difficult. I didn't receive any check-in info until 3:00pm, when I was still traveling and couldn't check my email. The website said I needed to download an app, which took an extremely long time without WiFi. Then I was told to call, and I discovered that the person who was supposed to meet me had been waiting inside the apartment the whole time. We ended up waiting outside the apartment for about 30 minutes-very frustrating. The stove came with no instructions-I had never used an induction stove before, but we figured it out. The frying pans did not work with that type of stove, which limited our cooking options. The washing machine turned on but would not run a cycle.

Vi bodde i leilighet i andre etasje. Veldig skittent på gulvet. Vi er nordmenn så vi brukte ikke sko innendørs så da så vi på sokkene hvor skitten det er. Portabelt klimaanlegget kjølte ikke ned da det var tett av støv. Vi etterspurte extra vifte pga 35 grader ute og i leiligheten men det fikk vi ikke. Vi ga beskjed om at bide på badet, Varmluft i stekeovn og vifte over komfyr virket ikke men sa vi ikke trengte at de reparerte det når vi var det. Vi spurte etter flere søppelsekker 2 ganger og det fikk vi ikke. Det ble ganske mye søppel etter hvert i leiligheten Vi var 3 personer og fikk 3 håndklær til 6 netter. Jeg måtte vaske håndklærne selv i vaskemaskinen da de tilbydte ikke nye. Leiligheten var stor men Veldig slitt. Fryseboksen var full av frossen is og trenger en vask. Anbefaler alle å ta med vaskemiddel til oppvaskmaskin. Det var skitne glass og bestikk i skapene da vi kom så jeg vasket alt i oppvaskmaskinen. Den gule stolen i stua var veldig skitten og trenger en rens. Lokasjon er veldig bra. Tar du toget 1 stopp fra Kensington til Sheperds Bush kommer du til ett gigantisk kjøpesenter.

Lovely apartment building situated in a quiet area not far from Kensington high street and just 1 minute walk to train which is 1 stop to shepherds bush tube, very convenient. Next door to 2 very well stocked convenience stores. Communication was excellent leading up to our stay, prompt, friendly and very helpful. Offered to get our room ready a few hours early so we didn't have to take cases into centre with us. We were greeted by a wonderful smiley, friendly guy who let us in, showed us around and explained everything in detail. Apartment was exactly like the pictures and clean. Lots of fantastic amenities. Shower was hot and decent power. WiFi was good. Massive fridge/freezer. Comfy beds. Area felt safe and local shop keepers were friendly and helpful. Its a good walk to the main busy area of Kensington but we preferred to be in a quieter bit and for around £5 we ubered to shops, or around 20 min walk. For london we felt this apartment is good value. Thankyou for a lovely stay

The check in process let this property down. We were asked to phone when 20 minutes away, we done this and someone was sent to meet us at the property - 40 mins later they still had not arrived (we were just left stood outside in the heat waiting). We called back and with a quick ID verification check were given the entry instructions to the property. In our view this could have been given to us on arrival saving both time and stress! Noone arrived to meet us but we didn't actually need them too! The apartment itself was good. It was hot but there was an aircon unit which helped. The fridge smelt a bit of mould but none was obviously visible, other than this the property was clean. Tea, coffee would have been appreciated but there is a shop literally under the apartment which had everything you could need. Wifi is good. The apartment is 1 minute away from Olympia and the Olympia overground train station. We walked from Shepherds bush underground this took about 15 mins. The bedrooms were a good size and the apartment gave us a nice place to sleep. We did not use any kitchen facilities or anything. The property does have a lift, which was great for a top floor stay! :-)
