Stayed overnight on business. Had booked on Expedia as saw property had pool, sauna. On arrival was informed that it's £10 per hour, per person to use the leisure facilities! Won't be booking again on this basis, as it had not been advertised as such on Expedia. Breakfast was good and staff nice.

Booked this place for ease of access for daughters audition for Performers College. Was fantastic stay with leisure facilities, food was good especially breakfast. Deal was amazing better than usually chain offers for two rooms. Was surprised that there was an additional fee for leisure and rate being per hour ,but still enjoyed it. Pool area had soome protective mats but i did feel unsafe on surface with having some mobility issue. Overall though would stay again,staff extremeley helpful and polite.

Great place to stay for my family and guests as part of my wedding event taking place at the venue. The only issue we came across was that the elevator in the building we stayed was broken down so we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs. Not a big deal but would have been amazing if the lift was working. Nothing else but positives for this place.

Wonderful staff, very accommodating and nice restaurants. Location was great for access. Gym is on the small side, but adequate facilities. In room AC didn't go below 19 degrees, so room was a warm. However still a great place to stay.

Shame about the relative early closing time of the pool facilities considering most in week are likely commutors so won't be finishing work and arriving until later in the evening, plus the addition of a £10/hour usage charge isn't really justified for the standard and is not typcial of other hotels: you pay your rate, and you get use of the facilities. Similarly the gym isn't up to the standard and in line with the size/ scale of the rest of the property. Other than that the staff were great and its a lovely, spacious and quiet hotel.

The property is very nice and beautiful. But we only book for the spa, and we get to the hotel we were told that the spa is closed for new years day which was a disappointment for us , because it was our anniversary and we was looking forward to it .

Hotel was lovely, room was large and clean. TV didn’t work on the second night but not a big deal. Little disappointed in the quality of the gym, little equipment and poorly maintained.

Spot staining on carpets in room clearly careless from other guests but cleaners could do more ,large gap under main door to room 30 could do with strip also shower controls in bathroom looks like bits missing eg,chrome covers etc ,wardrobe in room simply needs hand handy man to cut 2 inches off bottom and push up to wall under electricity box ,if all these small jobs are done in room 30 will be perfect ,my past job was quality controls in 5 star hotels so I can spot minor irritations easily and advise on all your rooms if you want any help regards Dave

The hotel is so beautiful and all the grounds well kept. It was so relaxing and picturesque. Our room was very nice, clean and well organised. Breakfast was tasty and absolutely fresh. The staff were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. Thank you Orsett Hall for a lovely stay I will definitely be staying with you guys again!

I used to live in Orsett and knew the old Orsett Hall. I like how the rebuild has remained faithful to the original. As the new hotel it is clean and reasonably comfortable, with nice sized rooms and two dining options. The grounds are nicely laid out and pleasant to walk in, and it is fairly quiet, except for when there’s a wedding, though the noise did not go on too late. It is unfortunate that the bath/shower combinations are so deep, as that makes it a little dangerous for the short and less mobile to get in and out. The pillows could be plumper. Also a more comfortable armchair and a mini fridge would have been nice in this four star hotel. However, I would still recommend it for a few days stay.

Very nice comfortable room (room 57), very spacious, comfortable bed, and nicely designed bathroom. Parking was easy and convenient. Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent. My only slight criticism was the bright green light on all night in the room which was distracting.

Excellent food, outstanding service. Impressive exterior and lobby. Stayed 1 night in October 2024. Only downside was room was very cold and didn't heat well, and water in bathroom was not hot in the evening. However, would recommend; good quality at reasonable price.

Paid for an executive room, bed was terrible, AKA Hostel quality, the primary reason of staying is the bed, to sleep, double but 2 singles zipped together, but that poor was like a wall in the middle, dosed in like fabreeze, overpowering , had to sleep on a towel to dull the pillow smell. Complaint at checkout just wasn’t dealt with at all.

The hotel is situated in a quiet location and hosted within a Large Manor House on very well kept grounds. The price of the room was not much more thank a premier inn which is why I booked the venue. The only reason I have not provided a top score is that the pillows on the bed were uncomfortable and the walls are thin. I could hear my neighbours tv and speaking until 12 midnight which wasn’t great. Also the bar was quite a distance from the main hotel and based in a newer section right at the back.

Got given room 12a. Very noisy heating pipes by the headboard. Knocking noise from the pipes every minute or so. Reading through some reviews this problem has been going on for a while but the hotel is still giving this room to guests. After complaining they did change my room but never should have been given this room as there has been complaints about this in the past. Otherwise the hotel is nice enough. Staff friendly enough.

The location is nice, lovely for weddings. Staff were friendly. Unfortunataly our room didnt meet our expectations, many cracks in the walls, some lights broken, bed wasnt too comfortable. The breakfast area is really lovely and it wasnt too bad overall. However, on Saturdays coffee cost extra money and on sunday its buffet style. This wasnt indicated prior to our stay or at the hotel. We tried food at the cafe and it was pretty good.

On arrival the night receptionist greeted us by putting out the cigarette he was smoking by the reception door. Then could not find our booking as it had not been printed out. When asked about our car we informed him it was in a ‘disabled bay’. We were allocated our room number 56 given the keys and told to follow the signs. Little did I know it was going to be a route march to the other end of the hotel up and down lots of stairs. Not good if you are disabled although there are lifts if you look for them. The room was reasonably clean but not as any of the advertised ones on the website. It had restricted head height with chairs underneath. The bed mattress was old lumpy and had springs “digging in’. The pillows were lumpy. The fitted wardrobe was dangerously loose and fell forward when you opened the door. The bed side lamp only turned off via the plug behind the bed side unit. The shower was cold the toilet was running water all the time. And the bathroom light fan was noisy & ran for twenty mins every time the door opened with no ‘night switch’ and had a light was hanging from the ceiling. The receptionist when we pointed out the problems was polite stating that she would inform her manager and that they would be in touch. (Still waiting at time of writing this.)

I booked 2 rooms, one for ourselves and 1 for my friends. I booked well in advance to ensure we got what we wanted. I entered a request for an accessible room due to my limited mobility. They ignored this request and put me in a room a long walk away from reception in a completely different building. I asked when booking in if our 2 rooms could be close to us and was assured they would be. That again was ignored and the other room was on a different floor altogether. Furthermore despite the fact they were aware of my limited capabilities, they gave us a room with a bath only, which i could not get in and out of so could not use. Very disappointed and would not rec omend to anyone.

Furthermore despite the fact they were aware of my limited capabilities, they gave us a room with a bath only, which i could not get in and out of so could not use. The hotel is so beautiful and all the grounds well kept. It was so relaxing and picturesque. Our room was very nice, clean and well organised. Breakfast was tasty and absolutely fresh. The staff were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. Thank you Orsett Hall for a lovely stay I will definitely be staying with you guys again!

I have booked this hotel for me and my wife as were at a wedding close by and we are based in north of England. We checked in and all good. At 12:30 AM called reception to report the loud noise of people having sex and chatting very loud from the room next to us. The personnel at the reception mentioned that will do something about it. As the noise didn’t stop at all tried to phone reception again and the noise have not stopped at all and no answer from reception. This is terrible attitude from the staff member that don’t care about either the customer complaint and also the image of the hotel instead of being a high rating hotel now it will be advertised for the image that it has given us during our stay. I travel every week for business purposes so do lots of my colleague and we are a team of 121 people, just a start everyone of those 121 knows for sure to avoid this hotel. I travel every week for business purpose and every week in a different country/hotel and can reassure you never had such a bad attitude of customer caring.

The hotel is situated in a quiet location and hosted within a Large Manor House on very well kept grounds. The price of the room was not much more thank a premier inn which is why I booked the venue. The only reason I have not provided a top score is that the pillows on the bed were uncomfortable and the walls are thin. I could hear my neighbours tv and speaking until 12 midnight which wasn’t great. Also the bar was quite a distance from the main hotel and based in a newer section right at the back.

Wonderful staff, very accommodating and nice restaurants. Location was great for access. Gym is on the small side, but adequate facilities. In room AC didn't go below 19 degrees, so room was a warm. However still a great place to stay.

Overall, I really appreciated my stay at Orsett Hall Hotel.I was in the Sartoria building above the cafe - which meant that I wasn’t disturbed by any wedding events. There was a bit of a distance between my room and the car park so I made several trips to move my stuff up to where I needed. The room was very good - clean and with one or two nice touches, the bed was clean and good, there was a nice TV with Netflix, and a nicely fitted bathroom. Upon reading the ‘Guest Welcome Info’ it became clear that the estate has a great 300 year local Orsett village heritage, which includes accommodating King George VI and Elizabeth (the late Queen’s) Mother. The grumbles - the skylight in my room, intended to offer choices for daylight and ventilation was damaged and allowed some cold air and traffic noise in to the room at night while you were sleeping. I did tell reception and members of staff but it was never sorted out. Also the motion-activated lights in the bathroom tended to plunge the guest in to darkness when you didn’t need it to….as I mentioned - minor things only. Would I stay again in future? The building & grounds are both very attractive. My room was modern, spacious, light & the bed was very comfortable. I also had nice views of the gardens. The carpet & furniture in the room needed a little repair although understandable with general wear & tear. The food in Sartoria was very good & the food in the Garden Brasserie was excellent. Service was very good across the hotel with all staff being professional, friendly & helpful. I will definitely stay again. Many thanks!

The building and all its surroundings were amazing, The staff in the garden restaurant were polite and respectful. Only real fault was the entrance and exits from the grounds. We arrived in the evening, finding the entrance was a bit daunting and leaving there were no clear signs in which direction to exit.

I have stayed at Orsett before and returned because its covenant for business but more importantly its nice. The staff are brilliant and very polite so i would book again as long as the price was right because it can fluxgate and can double in costs

We were booked into the Whelan Suite. A very large room with a separate bathroom and toilet. Extremely comfortable large bed. I would say the only things missing were glasses to drink water from. Other than that the restaurant food for evening dinner was excellent. Breakfast in the Garden Restaurant was equally of a high standard. Staff in both restaurants are polite , friendly and attentive. The only negative experience was the spa. Whilst we were there it ran out of drinking water, the staff did not make any attempt to address this as they were closing and the customers were definitely not their priority. Such a shame as absolutely all the rest of the staff were so friendly and polite.

Wonderful stay but the only thing that let it down was the room service, ordered food which came Luke warm and stodgy so ended going out for a sneaky take a way apart from that it’s was another amazing stay .

Lovely venue and gardens. Breakfast was a bit of a shame. They had run out of most items in the buffet and we had to wait for a table. They should also have proper hot water for drinks and not flasks. Overall it was a very pleasant stay with lovely rooms.

Our stay was wonderful. The restaurant staff were amazing and the meal was fabulous. All staff were really welcoming. I do not think paying guests should pay to use the spa facilities however.

I've been a regular business traveller at Orsett for the past 18 months. I think it offers very good quality and value for money, certainly when compared to the somewhat tired Premier Inn properties around Basildon that are generally more expensive. One area I've been less impressed with is the "buffet breakfast experiment" which has recently been introduced on certain days. It has a noticeable impact on the quality of the hot breakfast items, compared to the normal table services, so not a good idea in my opinion.

The only thing which stopped me giving an excellent rating was on the first night there were problems in the Satoria cafe. Firstly the draught beer pub stopped working all together then the staff announced they were closing half an hour early as they needed to get prepared for the next day. A very strange business decision when the place was full of guests.

Dining room not big enough for guests staying at the hotel. There were no places when we went down for breakfast and had to sit in another room. Carrying food and drink from the dining room to another room was not very practical and sitting outside on a cold day was not an option. Dining room not open on Sundays :( Charging £10 pp for each hour of use in the Spa before check-in is not something I would expect as a paying guest. The only hotel I've ever stayed in that charges its guests to use its facilities before check-in. Surely your paying guests satisfaction is worth more than the measly £10 profit you make from this?

Nothing wrong with the hotel per say, the pre-requisite of checking in takes longer than it needs to be and the inital deposit for the room (incase you charge anything back to it) is not very forthwith considering its £100 which is on the costly side for a deposite. Im still waiting for it to be released back to me. A simple card check would have suffied. Unfortunately the spa facilities were closed during my stay.

I always try to stay here when in the area. It's clean, nice rooms, good wifi, pleasant staff, great parking, and the breakfast is lovely (which is the main part when working away). Already booked my next room for when I'm in the area again next month.
