Nice staff, comfy bed and good breakfast. The room had an uncomfortable musty smell. Our friends changed room several times. The seaview was only partial from the balcony. Great staff - great pool area. Breakfast is fabulous. Room was clean and serviced daily by the nicest young man. The gym was was well appointed. The Spa for massages was wonderful. The carpets in hallways and walls in hallways to rooms could be deep cleaned.

Th reason for my 3 star review is that it is advertised as having direct access to the beach when actually it is across an over pass and tou have to scramble across boulders to reach the sand. The second point is that it is advertised as being 16 mins walk from the night market when it’s actually 45 min walk and roads are so windy with no pavement that it would not be safe to do so. However the hotel is on a bus route which is super handy as bus to Batu Ferranghi area costs 1.40R and only takes 5 mins.

The room facilities are dated and not so clean. You can see black mark on the duvet and the blankets in our twin room was having moldy smell. The toilet’s wall and corner are moldy and rusty. When the room’s floor is wet, it would not dry until the next morning. The beach opposite the hotel is full of rocks and cannot swim there at all. Not a really nice location comparing to the price we paid. On the next day, we moved to another apartment in Gurney Drive which was cleaner, cheaper and much nicer

I am really impressed with how attentive and consistent the service of all the staff was. They are always smiley, friendly and cheerful. Makes the stay a comforting one. Location is abit off from city centre, so it is a nice place to chill and relax if your intention is to get away from crowd. I only have 2 feedback for improvement: 1. The breakfast food is wonderful, but I feel that there can be slightly more meat options. 2. My room has a slight musky smell, and there are visible balls of dust on the wall or bed frame. The AC filter on the ceiling right outside the bathroom is choked full of dust, probably not cleaned for very long. There were times I sneezed in the room, and since I have no allergy, it must be the dusty AC causing it. Cleanliness inside my room definitely can be better. Overall, it is still a good stay. Thanks!

The Hilton Double Tree is a quiet and clean property with great staff located just a short 10 min drive from the busier Natu Ferringhi area. This is a great property for families with children and there are family rooms (connecting doors) available. There is a small beach across from the hotel that is quiet but suitable for beach activities.

The first room that we went into was ok but very dirty and smelt like mould, did not expect that from Hilton, as the name does associate to the room standard Then we were given a different room, good room all was nice but dirty floor, hair in fridge, main door not shutting properly, cabinet with fridge in it rotting from the legs, water dripping from ceiling due to condensation, again don’t go with the name please The lobby and swimming pool area is amazing though.

Large and comfortable room, nice shower, room safe and everything else you would need. I’m not sure how old the hotel is but it is just starting to feel a little dated in the rooms. Staff were super friendly and helpful, also nice to have the pool table and a few other activities in the lobby. We had an issue with the fridge not working in our room which they resolved straight away. Gym was decent size and very quiet when we were here also. It is in a bit of an odd location where you must get a Grab everywhere but they are cheap and available.

The staff and service were excellent. The family suite was the first time we ever got such a room. Perfect for our family of 5. Although 2 of our kids had to share a bed it was big enough for them! Definitely enough space for an extra bed if we had wanted to order it. The room was super spacious. With a large living n dining area. Only 4 dining chairs but with a roller office chair, we could sit down as a family to meals. We were there to chill and it was a real relaxing time. We got ocean view so sunsets were amazing.

I wasn't wowed by this hotel or the dining choices but the staff was lovely, the food was good and the view from my terrace room was beautiful. the resort can use a little refresh as the furniture was a little worn and the decor a little tired. I was surprised that the mini bar remained unfilled the whole time I was there as I thought the terrace rooms included a stocked mini bar. I guess I could have complained but I just kept on thinking they would get to it. I will know better for next time.

We booked a family stay for six people at the DoubleTree Penang and, while there were some positives, our overall experience was disappointing. Positives: • The complimentary family dinner offered after the first night’s incident was thoughtful and much appreciated. • Staff were polite in their written replies and eventually tried to follow up by phone. Concerns: • Despite booking for six, we arrived to find only there were less towels, amenities and the sofa bed in our room had not been made up. • We raised these issues with the front desk on the first day, yet they were still not resolved the following morning. • Because our “actual rooms” were not ready after the first night’s incident, we had to pack and unpack more than once. This took away valuable time from our short family trip. • When we expressed our disappointment, the initial response felt generic and failed to address the inconvenience. Only after we pushed again did the team ask what they could do to help. The staff eventually reached out and asked how they might improve our stay, but the repeated delays and the need for us to chase basic standards left a lasting negative impression. Overall, while individual staff members were courteous, the service and attention to detail fell well below the level we expected from a DoubleTree property. We hope management reviews their processes so future guests don’t have to go through similar disruptions.

Staff will discourage you to take Grab by saying Grab does not come here sooner which is not true and then will bring a driver on 50 MYR per hour minimum four hour and will force you to take tours. Driver they get will not start aircon until asked for. Cleaniness is pathetic , staff will forget to change towels have to constantly call them. And food is ok and is not that great or. Die for.

Service was very good. However room feels very outdated and the floors are wooden but sticky (unsure why). Additionally parking is difficult if you’re back after hours. One weird thing, if you need assistance to deliver things like extra towels, cutleries there is a service charge. Overall, satisfactory.

Das Hotel hat keinen wirklichen Strand. Der Strand 100 Meter weiter ist nicht ohne Gefahr zu erreichen. Außerdem läuft mitten im Strand eine Abwasser Leitung ins Meer. Keinerlei Infrastruktur. Kein Geschäft. Die sogenannte Strandbar ist nicht zu empfehlen. Zudem liegt das Hotel völlig abgeschnitten an der sehr lauten Hauptstraße. Man muss Bus fahren oder ein Taxi rufen um dort wegzukommen.

I am very disappointing to the beach, it was actually a stone beach which was not suitable for swimming. Room was spacious, tidy but a bit aging! Also, we bought package with breakfast and dinner, a la carte is ok, but last day, we have buffet and only have choices of curry, even less food or choices than breakfast!

When we arrived the entrance hall looked very impressive but unfortunately that’s where it stops! The room is dated and has chipped paint mold and marks everywhere especially in the bathroom and headboard of bed. We then went down to the pool and the pool is not very pleasant, there is building work next door so there is a black tarp blocking it and they are doing maintenance to there bridge to the beach so you can hear that constantly! The pool was dirty and the bean bags and cushioned chairs are damp through stained and old! The kids pool (which is what initially drew us in) has sand on the bottom of it which I don’t understand why and when my daughter went down the slides she hurt her bottom as a result! Though admittedly it didn’t stop her from playing it did put her off wanting to stay for a long time! In fact on our last day we went to a different hotel for a day pass to use there facilities as we really didn’t want to use the double tree facilities. The one redeeming factor for the hotel was the breakfast which was very pleasant and varied if a little cold. Other issues we had was the extreme prices at the bar. 4 drinks for 166RM was extreme for the area. Additionally we asked them to get us a taxi and were quoted 60RM which we declined as the grab app was showing 23RM! And took only 5 mins to arrive Also our lights stopped working completely, there was quality issues with grouting in the bathroom and the air conditioning stopped workin also. Very disappointing!
