Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa

Property was convenient and affordable. Pool was under maintenance so that was a setback.

All was very good except for pool area. Wish the pool was open or at least notified of closure in advance. It was closed for maintenance

Hard to find the swimming pool and the hot tub was broken.

I like the property. I have stayed at blue chip previously but this time I bought other family members and it was a good stay. The pool was nice and warm but hot tub was closed. William B steakhouse was a hit! We will be back to stay in the near future!

Everything is there and easy check in, good parking space. However, it does not smell clean due to smoking and the pool is filthy. Hotel rooms are outdated, old facilities.

We were looking forward to using the hot tub and pool which was closed.

Hotel was ok but there are some issues. There is no entrance near the check in desk which is weird, long walk. Exceptionally long wait time to check in. There was only one bar and one bar tender on duty for the whole hotel and casino, long waits. Our room in the old tower was still nice. Parking is far. The pool was nice, the hot tubs were disgusting. Borderline health department should be called. Piles of black dirt/debris built up in the corners. At the Breakfast cafe, the 2 ladies didn’t acknowledge us for 15 minutes as we stood in line to order. We ended up walking out.

Kids can't swim in the pool on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I had my 13 year old son and 12 year old nephew with me. Kind of disappointing.

Was disappointed that the pool was dirty and the hot tub was not working. One of the reasons we came to this hotel. Adults only on Friday and Saturday

I stayed 9/26 - 9/28: Too much Smoke. On the 28th, I observed male underwear in the room we where staying. These underwear was not mines. They do not clean the room daily, I had to request it, when I book the room.

While the room was non-smoking, you could smell the smoke in the lines on the bed. Ended up buying a blanket from TJ Maxx to sleep with because of it. Also the smoke smell in the elevators was strong. Parking was a bit weird as there wasn't close parking for hotel guests unless you wanted to pay for Valet. Lastly, they lock the TVs so you can't plug in a streaming device and can only use YouTube and Netflix - not a deal breaker and we found a way to get Paramount+ via YouTube but was an added inconvenience. Overall, hotel itself was clean. Casino was nice. It did its job as a decent hotel room but with the smoke issues, not sure we'd stay again.

Cleanliness of hotel room was terrible. It looked like the shower hadn't been cleaned in a month or more. There was only 1 tissue in the tissue box. And plastic bag for trash can was draped over the trash can. We had to put it in the trash can ourselves. But the worst was there was so much smoke! We won't go there again.

Very, clean room! Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

TLDR: just a fancy Motel 6. The good: the overall property is beautiful. Like a casino hotel you’d see in Vegas. The bad: The Blue tower hotel rooms are out of the 1980’s. The stand up shower was nice, but that was the only highlight. It seems like this was a cheap hotel purchased and added on to the casino/spa. The ugly: I have stayed with my family in this area many times. The other hotel offerings are average in terms of quality. I thought we would try for a more upscale experience this time. Boy was I wrong. No bugs or safety issues or anything, but just an extremely average quality hotel room in the blue tower, right down to the brown painted bathroom door right out of a 1980’s horror movie. I feel like they did a facelift of an old hotel when they built the casino. Definitely not an upscale experience.

The new side of the hotel is lovely. We upgraded to be on the spa side, the other side had a musty smell in the hallway. The spa side was excellent. Rooms are spacious and clean. Wonderful view. Will definitely return.

The place was clean and nice, we stayed in the newer spa tower which is nicely appointed. Had kids with me which is fine but not a kid oriented place. Don't bother with the Internet which is intentionally laggy by default. Paid for the upgrade and got a whopping 20Mbits wifi...kids were looking forward to some online games and we're not amused, there is no Ethernet jack provided. Paid twice to get it working, even then, the access code for extra devices did not work. Support number is to COX which I sists the front desk can help. The front desk did manage to check us in and point out rules in a fairly irritating manner....otherwise useless.....use the kiosk instead.

I would recommending staying on the newer side of the hotel for the price difference. Old side is getting dated.

We stayed in the Spa tower. The room was lovely. It was large and clean. Loved the shower. Parking was easy. Front desk staff were kind enough to give us an early check in. We went to the casino. It’s a bit smoky. The hotel, however, was not. The location was pretty convenient to get to outside restaurants. We enjoyed our visit very much.

One side of the hotel is clearly newer than the other side. The side we stayed in was old and needs to be updated.

Check in was great. Onsite restaurants offered good variety and open late. Attached to casino which is nice. We stayed in the original tower and it was LOUD. Walls are paper thin. We heard everything in the halls, room next door and the ducks in the pond quacking starting at 6am. Beds were hard but room was spacious. The shower was fantastic.

Love this place! Staff is amazing. They all made our sister trip so much fun!! Great rooms, fabulous view.

Staff was very helpful upgrading me to a bigger room for my stay.

The same customer service staff checked us in and out and was very rude. After check in she goes “okay you’re checked in”, I asked where our keys were and she goes “ we will text you when your room is ready”. At checkout, no polite conversation such as “ how was your stay”, etc. She simply took our room keys, typed on the computer and said “you’re checked out”. No, “have a nice day or anything”. I had to ask for a receipt which she appeared to be miffed by my asking for one. Other staff on property usually said hi, have a good day, etc as we passed them and were very cordial. She was not a good representative of the Blue Chip staff

Check in was very easy! Daniel was very courteous and getting us checked in quickly. Facility was very nice and clean. Room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable.

During our stay we got charged for an extra night. They claim that we requested an extension to our stay. After our 2 night reservation we dropped the keys off in the drop box and left the property. The next day I had a charge for another night. I have called and inquired about the charges 3 times to be passed off to someone else or told there was nothing they could do about it since I request the extra night. I was supposed to be receiving a return call from management but 3 days have passed and I still have not heard from them.

The room was nice, however the staff was cold and unhelpful over the 4 night stay. For example, anytime questions were asked about services and amenities at the guest services desk/phone- the staff was trained to put effort back on the guest.

The front desk staff was terrible. They switch our rooms from K to 2 Q's and would not accommodate us in making any changes. We arranged a 60th Bday/retirement trip for 6 adults to celebrate, booked 11/2 months in advance, planned a Spa day for the ladies- 9 services- 3 massages, 3-mani, and 3-pedis and the called the day before to tell us they were cancelling one of the massages. I left messages for the hotel manager and she never called me back. All in all we made the best of it but would not go back and would not recommend it. Most unprofessional staff of workers I've experienced in a long time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the staff in all areas. The housekeeping staff, restaurants staff and hotel staff were all very friendly and ready to assist if needed.

We chose the Blue Chip for its location. We enjoyed the short drive to Chicago and also enjoyed the local breweries and wineries. We had one small issue with the hotel but the Manager resolved it without issue. We stayed in the spa side and were pleasantly surprised with our room. Would stay again.

Blue Chip is in a great location. So much to do outside of the Casino.

Rooms were clean and nice. Close to beach and restaurants.

There were a lot of things to do that were only a couple miles away.

Nice property. Casino was Smokey. Bed was comfortable. Overall room/bath could use some updates. TERRIBLE lighting in room & particularly bathroom area. Light was so dim it was difficult to apply makeup. Navigating the parking garage entryways was tricky. Location was ideal! Close to shopping & breweries. Would stay here again but will pack portable lighting to plug in room.

Hotel and Casino were good! Not so good off property. Felt a little unsafe and dirty.

Price and amenities are wonderful. Room was clean and large. Surrounding neighborhood was not the best so we chose to drive instead of walk to the beach and restaurants. Overall positive experience.

The hotel was decent, but a little dated. Plus they allow smoking throughout the hotel and casino. I would prefer not smelling like an ashtray. The staff was friendly and William Bs steak house was fantastic!

I was a little disappointed with the lack of bar service on the casino floor. The main casino bar was closed and it was only 7:30 pm. The other bar/restaurant across from it was open and had very long line that was barely moving. The bartender shouted at everyone to not make a line and come stand around the bar. We decided to leave the bar and go elsewhere for a drink. Just a little disappointing that this casino only had 2 bar locations for the entire casino floor.

No room service and limited dining

Bed was comfy room was clean. Staff was friendly. The food from The Lakeside restaurant was absolutely horrible and over priced. Would stay at the hotel again but would definitely not eat there ever again!

The casino was fun, I won a little for a change. The food was good, although the timing of the open/closure of the three restaurants is screwy. You never know where you'll eat dinner. One night I had to have a sandwich for dinner-everything else was closed. The room was nice. Though it did take the hot water at least 5 minutes to get to the sink faucet. But what I am most upset about is checking out. I had an early appointment an hour and half away for a painful condition.I did so with ease on the TV. When I called for the bellman, I was told they don't start till 9 am but if I come down I could have a cart (it's 8:15 am). So, I go get the cart. It's quite heavy. I put my belongings on and push it to the elevator. I am 72 yo, 100 lb and have my neck and most vertebra in my back fused. And I'm pushing it up and down inclines to get to the valet station to get my car. I put my ticket in, it says my car is on the way. I wait. And wait. And wait. Now I'll never make my appointment, so I have to cancel at the last minute. I ask a security person about the valet. There is no valet today. You have to go to security to get your car. I wanted to scream (but I don't know how). So I drag my luggage cart to security. He hands me my car keys and tells me where it is. Why do you people close everything??? And don't tell your guests anything about what to do?? I am very frustrated, not happy and worn out from being my own bellman.

Needs to have better food choices and room service. Only real restaurant is the steakhouse but it is only for dinner.

We were able to check in online. The only downside to this Casino is there are only 2 places to eat at. Both$$

The property was clean but somewhat dated. We arrived late and there was only one deli restaurant open. There weren’t many people there. We were comfortable and the staff was friendly, but it was just okay. (We are not hard-core gamblers though, so maybe others would enjoy it more.)

Room was fine. Pool and hottub was nice. Machines seemes tight. Craps was $10 minimum, which is nice these days. Sports bar was closed and dining options were limited. Most of the tv channels did not work in the room. Not a big deal for me, might bother some people.

The hotel was nice,but we stayed Monday and Tuesday and everything was closed. They need a store that stays open all night
