The room was ok, cold floors no carpet, bathroom extremely small with no shelf place for toiletries and makeup essentials. The resturant was closed for renovation, they did offer breakfast but we did not eat. Parking is for guest only 26 spaces for 21 rooms. All in all it wasnt a great place to stay but it provided shelter, a place close to downtown Santa Fe and the price was right.

This is a very nice Inn, but by no means a resort. It shows signs of neglect, especially in landscaping, no plants in the many pots. The security door to our hallway never locked. No paper or pens in the desk. Very flimsy towels. The breakfast was nice, but I was very disappointed the bar and restaurant were closed. Needs a lot of TLC.

Lovely architecture and room design in Santa Fe style. Comfortable bed. Walkable to Plaza and Rail Yard areas making it convenient for dining, shopping and museum visits. Offered a delectable breakfast buffet. Piano bar fun in the evening with good food and cocktails. We enjoyed our stay, and would choose Vanessie again.

The Vanessie Inn was a great experience. The staff are very friendly and responsive. The accommodations were great - bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were a pleasant surprise with lots of fresh fruit options. While the restaurant wasn't open the location is superb with numerous great local restaurants within walking distance not to mention the nearby Santa Fe plaza.

Under construction. Lots of dust. Cramped parking. Tracking dust into room constantly. Good vibe and atmosphere. Room and bathroom were dimly lit and bedside outlets and lamp did not work properly. Convenient location. Ridiculous that. $30 resort fee was charged when restuarant and bar were closed and construction made a mess of check-in area

The property is old but kept up. Unfortunately the website advertised a pool. When I called no pool. ?? When I checked in I was charged a$30 resort fee. But the restaurant and bar are closed and the entertainment advertised is a no go as well. When I questioned the $30 resort fee I was told for breakfast and parking that was listed as free breakfast and free parking ????

I've never given a hotel review before as most hotels are average. The Inn at Vanessie was hands down the best hotel myself and my husband have ever stayed at! We LOVE Santa Fe and have stayed in the more expensive and been very disappointed by the cleanliness, and uncomfortable beds. The Inn at Vanessie staff was so welcoming, room was spotless and bed was very comfortable. Im sad we only had one night here since we were passing through, but this will from now on be our hotel of choice in Santa Fe!

These were old buildings that were pretty well kept up. Our room had a lot of space, plus a huge deck. Surfaces were clean but all in all this space was filled with dusty fabrics and upholstery. We had a restless night due to coughing and sneezing from allergies. The coffee maker didn't work. We had to split one small bar of soap between the sink and the shower. There were two of us but there were only three pillows on the bed. There was no black tea at the breakfast, although the fruit was good. We were in Santa Fe to attend a concert at the Lensic, so this hotel was handy for that and close to restaurants. Our stay at this hotel was pretty good in some areas but very bad in others. They could do better.

I’m not sure why this place has been rated as 5-star hotel. It’s not. It’s a perfectly fine place, but by no means is it a high-end hotel. The bed was comfortable, the decor is fun, the rooms are huge, the breakfast was decent. However, the bathroom ceiling was moldy, the room was run down, the door lock was barely attached to the door. There is nothing special offered at the hotel other than a not terrible breakfast.

The Inn is pretty to look at and conveniently located within walking distance of the Square. However they do not live up to their "chic" facade. The free breakfast is not worth the money, with the hot items not being replenished. Our room was on the ground floor and we were disturbed by the upstairs guests walking around at all hours. The room was in serious need of a deep clean, dubious stains on fabrics and dirty floors. Wouldn't say it was terrible but wouldn't stay there again.

Cute adobe hotel, great sized room for a good price. Room seemed clean but leftovers in the fridge. Very friendly staff. Would stay again. I think I heard them talking about doing some upkeep. A couple of things should be done in the room I stayed inWeatherstripping around windows and doors. Burnt plug in bathroom and other plug very difficult to get a connection. So some older aspects. But again had a pleasant stay and I was in walking distance of what I wanted to see, restaurants, etc.

The hotel staff are very kind. The hotel is nice and walkable to downtown spots. Our complaint is we were on a ground level room called Zuni and a family was staying above us. Every footstep of theirs resonated loudly in our room. They moved around from 9 pm to 5 am. We did not sleep well due to noise.

Very nice rooms, but walls are thin (or hollow) so you get a lot of traffic noise, people in parking lot, and guests in other rooms. Staff were very polite, but had an attitude of waiting for the hotel to end. Disappointing breakfast buffet. But, easy walk to Plaza and rail yard for dining, museums.

The room was absolutely amazing!! Wood fireplace and beautifully decorated with a large bathroom. By far the best room we stayed in on our two week tour around the southwest and it didn’t break the bank. Also, the breakfast they provided was delicious!!

We had a late arrival and their office closes at 8:00 pm. We were told our keys would be in the black mail box. Upon arrival the box was locked. We apparently needed a code to open it. We called the emergency after hours number which went to voicemail. The mailbox is located outside and it was snowing....very disappointing. Had to go to another hotel.

Overall, it was an ok stay. I wouldn’t stay here again though. Note that there’s also a “resort fee” of $30/day due upon check-in. My 2-night stay was almost $500, and it definitely wasn’t worth it in my opinion. It’s not bad, just would’ve chosen a different and less expensive hotel to stay at if I hadn’t needed to be in that area for the wedding I was attending. I got in late on Friday night (9pm) and had to do the late night check in bc their lobby closes at 8pm. The code they had given me for the check-in box was incorrect, and calling the number multiple times didn’t yield anyone picking up or calling me back. After about 25 minutes of standing out there after a long day of travel and repeatedly calling the number, one of the workers from the attached restaurant came out to see if she could help (the restaurant had already closed and she was cleaning up). She was able to call the manager who picked up immediately (the same number I was calling) and they finally got me into my room. Each room has a private gate you need a code for, and then a different code to enter your room. I like that it was quaint and had a lot of handmade furniture and quilts in the room. Everything was dark brown and gave a dark hue to the room; I wouldn’t loved more bright colors. My bed was comfortable and housecleaning dropped off several towels on their own without me asking. The few staff whom I interacted with were friendly.

He looked several places but couldn’t find them. One of the housekeepers came as soon as she could and retrieved them for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

When checking in, no one, not the front desk woman or the manager ever acknowledge us. We stood there for over 15 min looking at the manager working in his computer ignoring me 5 feet away. I finally said hello and asked for help. The same manager, male African American, didn’t say hello until the second time and acted like I was bothering him. He ignored me until a woman arrived and gave me a very cold greeting. Nobody ever smiled once the entire checkin. The 30$ a day “historical fee” was not great. No one said anything about that. Breakfast wasn’t decent. I’m just glad the guy working was finally nice. Room was nice.

Everything about the property was okay. The rooms were a bit smaller than my family and I expected. The surrounding area was simply amazing. A little hidden gem of an area. My experience during the checkout process was horrible. The attendant was extremely rude and proceeded to walk and step directly infront of me without saying excuse me which to me was very provoking. As if the receptionist wanted to start some sort of violent act. I was extremely disturbed and troubled about the entire situation. Everything about the property was okay. The rooms were a bit smaller than my family and I expected. The surrounding area was simply amazing. A little hidden gem of an area. My experience during the checkout process was horrible. The attendant was extremely rude and proceeded to walk and step directly infront of me without saying excuse me which to me was very provoking. As if the receptionist wanted to start some sort of violent act. I was extremely disturbed and troubled about the entire situation. That lady should definitely re evaluate her career in the hospitality field. The end of my stay was very quesionable and unfortunate.

The Inn at Vanessie was a 5 star experience. The rooms were so cute and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay easy and safe parking. The staff was so friendly and gave us drink vouchers for the bar, and guests are given a great breakfast buffet from 8-11 am, which is such better timing than most hotels. Additionally, the location was superb. We had no idea that we were just blocks away from Santa Fe plaza, the railyard, and canyon road. We were able to walk everywhere! Loved this place and did not want to leave. Thank you for a great stay in santa fe!

Let me begin by saying I am an Expedia platinum member and this is the first review I have given. We had an ill family member and did not want to risk the trip. We were initially offered a rebook by the property, but the offer was retracted by the manager. Expedia tried to advocate for us, but the property manager staunchly denied them as well. Since we would lose our money, we made the trip. We paid for 4 nights but arrived a night late due to illness. Upon arrival, the property was ok, but the amenities were lacking, and certainly did not justify the $30 resort fee. While the staff was very friendly, there was no one to help after 8pm. Around 10pm, we ran out of toilet paper, and had to wait until morning. If you needed anything like ice, towels, blankets, you had to wait until morning. The first night, my special needs daughter was cold because they forgot to put a quilt on her bed (temps were in the low 30s) and she did not communicate this to us until the next morning. The heater was loud and sounded like an airplane taking off. The volume on the TV was broken. Lastly, the morning breakfast was OK, not great, but not terrible.

The Inn at Vanessie proved to be a wonderful surprise hidden away in Santa Fe. To start, it is just a few blocks from downtown, but that wasn't the only wonderful surprise. Our suite was large, beautifully decorated and clean. The morning after checking in, we went to breakfast and found a lovely selection of foods including big juicy raspberries, blackberries, great yogurt and a nice selection of eggs, bacon or sausage and toast. The coffee and tea selection were excellent. We will be back and shared our opinion with friends who live in Santa Fe and have visitors needing accommodations.

Second time staying here while visiting Santa Fe, and it was just as great! Compared to some hotels with outrageous prices downtown, this hotel's price is much more reasonable. It is also only a quick 8-minute walk to the historic downtown area.

Our stay was really nice. We have stayed there before and wanted to go back. This time was different. There is no restaurant or bar anymore. Unfortunately, there is still a daily surcharge to stay there, which is applied for your breakfast, but the breakfast, while a "hot" one, left a lot to be desired, especially for $30 per day. This hotel needs to take a little time to revamp and upgrade a little. Otherwise, we like it, but it will be awhile before we try it again!!

Our room was beautifully decorated in the Santa Fe style and had a very comfortable bed with soft sheets, two leather chairs by the cozy fireplace, and a beautiful carved wooden armoire. The included breakfast each morning was delicious with lots of choices that we don’t normally see in our hotel stays and it’s served in a beautiful dining room adorned with art and has lovely music playing in the background.

This beautiful boutique hotel is amazing. Quaint, clean with upgraded interiors. Very Pueblo-Spanish authentic architecture and a close walk to the downtown square. The bed was extremely comfortable also. It is apparent they take great pride in this place.The hot breakfast was delicious!

Very nice rooms, but walls are thin (or hollow) so you get a lot of traffic noise, people in parking lot, and guests in other rooms. Staff were very polite, but had an attitude of waiting for the hotel to end. Disappointing breakfast buffet. But, easy walk to Plaza and rail yard for dining, museums.

The exhaust fan cover in the restroom was missing so there was a hole in the ceiling. The shower head sprayed a straight stream, not a spray. The internet didn't work so the TV did not work as it is a streaming setup. Was charged a $30 resort fee. The place is not a resort and I am not sure what this charge is for. Great location- close walk to the plaza and to the Rail yard. Good parking, quiet and there is a lounge to hang out in. Our room had a court yard and an anteroom. The bathroom probably could be updated. Our friends’s rooms bathrooms were more updated so ask for a more modern bathroom.

The room was a nice suite with a fireplace and balcony. However, the bathroom was in disrepair: -the door had a big chunk knocked out of it by the knob; the mirror above the sink was hung too low and covered the light switch; the shower curtain was very old and the fasteners were disfunctional - water got all over the bathroom floor; there was no towel rack by the shower - it had obviously been knocked off leaving a big gauge in the sheet-rock.
