The photos and description do not represent the property as is today. The only good thing I ca say is the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. We stayed in the annexe, the bed was comfortable and the linen was good but ther it ends. The decor is very tired and just looks plain dirty in places. Desperately in need of some TLC. Very little interaction with staff at breakfast, cooked breakfast though plentiful was not great with burnt sausage and only lukewarm. Seemed as if the kitchen was understaffed. For the price paid I was very disappointed!

The hotel room in the annex was clean and tidy. Umbrellas were provided and needed for the short walk to the main hotel. The shower over the bath was not high enough for me (1.85m tall). The food was excellent and so was the service. I would stay there again.

Very nice pitstop en route. Handy for onward travel in any direction. Very nice breakfast. Plenty of parking. Friendly hosts and staff.

Stayed one night there. The hotel itself was beautiful and we had a lovely room, the Port Isaac room in the barn. Such a peaceful, quiet location. Enjoyed a fabulous evening meal and breakfast with great choices. Everyone was friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Hope to stay there again. :)

Very disappointed that we didn’t get the room we booked - we booked a room with a bath as when away like to have a soak but instead has the smallest shower I’ve ever seen! we were not even in the hotel but in an annex. The room bore no resemblance to any of the pictures shown which was misleading - breakfast ok but apart from asking what we wanted to eat no Interaction at all - would never have booked if we’d had the right description or pictures - very disappointing

This is a gorgeous, 300 year old property situated out in the Cornish countryside between Bodmin and Port Isaac. The buildings and grounds are absolutely stunning, with gorgeous gardens in front and back. The various rooms to let are so beautiful. It is quaint and so very comfortable. The evening meals in the dining room are expertly prepared and served in such an exquisite manner in true English/Cornish fashion. The breakfasts offered in the beautifully appointed sunroom are also amazing. This is not an establishment for the young partying crowd, rather for those who are seeking a peaceful, beautiful retreat with exquisitely prepared food and drink, and a very comfortable place to sleep and unwind.

Our room was a little tired and old fashioned. We had to walk across the car patk to our room up some steps which we hadnt expected. My husband has a bad hip and he slipped outside as raining so not ideal. The television was very small and no mini fridge in the room. The breakfast in the restaurant wsx very nice though.

No usable wifi, shower was very small. Food and service was excellent

This hotel is next to a busy road. The staff are very nice. Restaurant was nicely decorated and food was good. What has let it down (in my opinion) is condition of some of the decor. Paint flaking off of windows. Paint around doors etc in poor condition. From a Health & Safety aspect. It would of been good to have anon-slip mat when having showers. The outside areas are in need of a good gardener. Outside looks unkept. Also it's the little things that were missing.

Loved the atmosphere and staff were just lovely and very accommodating. Restaurant food was very good just limited on food and drink options -highly recommend the lemon drizzle cake! Downsides of the property were based on the room, we had a standard double. Upon arrival the room was cold with heating off.... why when we were booked in for 2 nights? Due to room not being heated to continual heat level There was mould in the bedroom and bathroom- if the heating was kept on or even small dehumidifiers were in the space this would be avoided but instead black mould ans furry white mould was on the bedside table next to where I was sleeping. (The heating was on from point of arriving to leaving and not once did it feel remotely "hot") as there is a draft under the door and the bathroom was cold to say the least even with the little radiator on...this isn't helped by the period features of single glazing. Shower was lovely and hot but no way could I wash my hair with the pressure. Generally could do with a refurb to bring it up to standard. Was ok for a cheap get away, if I could guarantee better accommodation I'd definitely be back

This is pretty basic accommodation with no frills. Everything was done, but to the minimum. ( eg. little butter at breakfast unless more requested, room furniture is adequate but tired). Cleaning staff were friendly and good. Waitresses were competent and pleasant. Breakfast was limited but adequate. Light over basin did not work, curtain was not properly fixed to rail, paintwork to outside windows was flaking badly. Internal paintwork not done to a very high standard. However, everywhere inside was clean and bed was comfortable.

The restaurant provides tasty food with good choice for both breakfast and dinner. The non-dairy alternative to milk requested about 2 weeks before our arrival was not provided. Our room (Polzeath) was clean, but very small and it was quite an ordeal to move around for 2 adults and a medium-sized dog with a suitcase. Once I saw the room I checked the hotel website and I realised that it was advertised as a single room, not a double. When I booked it on Expedia I didn’t book a single room, I booked a double, but the email confirmation received from Expedia, that I did not read properly until I saw the room, did state “single room sleeps 2”. That email should have alerted me and I should have checked, but I didn’t and that’s my problem. Someone made the mistake to give a party of 2 adults with a dog a single room, but I don’t know whose mistake it was: Expedia or the hotel? Luckily we spend very little time in hotel rooms in general, we are too busy going around, so we decided to leave it there to avoid wasting time arguing. The bed was small and the mattress wasn’t that comfortable. The tea cups, plastic cups and toiletries provided were not enough for 2 people staying 2 nights and the housekeeping staff forgot our room after the first night. I informed the receptionist, who apologised, supplied toiletries, and offered to make our room. I declined, since my husband was showering. Apparently toiletries are complimentary and what they provide on arrival is what guests get.

Stayed for one night. The hotel is in a wonderful area very peaceful. We stay in the Rock room which was very clean and comfortable. Great selection on the breakfast menu all freshly cooked . The staff were lovely very helpful.

Room smelt very damp, was very Clean and spacious

Room was clean but not that big. Same with tv ..only 22". But cheap price including full english made it worthwhile.

Excellent room and attentive staff, very nice menu. Highly recommend the Courtroom sweet it’s a massive room with really comfy sofas large bathroom and a really large comfy bed.

Stayed here in April and booked again for this stay..the courtroom suite is amazing, bathroom is huge and bed is massive n so comfortable..would definitely recommend

Lovely bed - spent most of the time in it as the room was so cold. Great old building which will be great in the summer as it will be cool with the very thick walls Stayed here in the past and it’s not changed. As a result it could do with a bit of TLC My room was nearest to the road which you could hear even with secondary glazing Really nice staff though

The receptionists are wonderful!! We were able to store our luggage and leave for the day to explore and they were able to bring our luggage to the room!! The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable!!! The only thing I disliked, was the shower. It was TINY and the temperature was completely messed up! And the pressure was so soft!! Otherwise, this was a wonderful experience!!!

Smallish room with a very comfortable double bed. Stool provided was wonky but otherwise a nice room. Breakfast was excellent, service efficient and friendly.

Lovely welcome from staff. Stayed in the Courthouse Suite which was huge! Lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

The staff were very welcoming including the chef who very kindly took my order there and then when I booked in for my evening meal-which was delicious. Cant speak highly enough of the service received.

Owner was not very welcoming. After check in i asked to leave my keyat reception before going into Wadebridge as attached to the key was a large piece of wood so you dont lose it. Carrying this in your pocket was impossible so i think its a reasonably request. Owner was reluctant to do this and said i had to keep it to save asking at reception for it back later. In retrospect i am glad i did take my key with me as the followed day my work colleague left their key at reception (not with owner) and on returning back at 10.15 pm found front desk empty and no key. They tried to find a member of staff but no one was available so they had to sleep on couch in reception.

Was convenient and provided excellent service.

The lady receopionist and then waitress on tuesday when I arrived was excellent very impressed by her courtesy pleasantness and quality of service.

Great stay, easy check in. Restaurant was closed but was a Monday evening. Breakfast was lovely, and service was quick. No complaints here.

We arrived at 8.20 pm on a Thursday evening to be told the restaurant was closed, so had to drive to nearest town at Wadebridge to get a takeaway. The rooms were incredibly hot as even in the height of summer the radiators were on.

A peaceful stay over a number of days at this property. The restaurant was great with delicious food. I would have liked to see a change in menu over the days so opportunity for more variety. The mattress could do with replacing. Room was warm.

Very helpful staff and excellent restaurant but closing at 8.00 pm and not opening until 8.00 fpam fir breakfast makes it difficult when staying for business

We enjoyed our one night stay. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious and well presented. Our room was clean and comfortable. Berniece showed us to our room and waited on that evening and at breakfast. She is very helpful and efficient. We would return if we are in the area again.
