The Marine Hotel is a quiet and convenient hotel for a short city break. The price was particularly competitive when compared to the hotels in the city centre, which was still quite accessible by foot via Sutton station. The staff were also all very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, and were able to help us book taxis etc. However, there were several things broken in our room (e.g two of the lights), and the general cleanliness of the room and leisure facilities (pool and steam room) was not great. The pool in particular was quite dirty and the changing rooms smelled strongly of damp / stagnant water. Despite its relatively small size, the pool was also quite busy as it is made accessible to locals too; even at 8/9pm, the pool was too busy to accommodate lane swimming for everyone wanting to use it. This is a shame because we specifically chose this hotel in part for its pool. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relatively affordable stay in Dublin with convenient transport links. It’s a bit rough around the edges but it’s nice and quiet and the staff were really great.

Our stay at the Marine Hotel was a wonderful start to our vacation in Ireland! It is conveniently located 15 km from the Dublin Airport with ample free parking. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. This gorgeous property features an expansive green lawn and a walkway that brings you right to the edge of Dublin Bay. It was low tide, so we took a walk exploring the beach and looking for critters. The star of the show was the staff at the Marine Hotel. Fiona at reception was welcoming, patient and kind. She had a bright smile and answered all of our questions, which were many, with care and enthusiasm. Everyone we encountered from the bartender to housekeeping was friendly and smiling. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend a stay here on your next trip to Dublin.

The hotel is situated within easy walking distance from the Dart train station, which takes you to Dunlin centre or to the beautiful habour and cliff walks of Howth. The Scooners bar is great and the food fabulous. Breakfast was a little disappointing for non-meat eaters but there was enough cold options. It was good that the pool opened early and closed late giving us lots of opportunity to swim. Our room was lovely but SO hot!! It was like the heating was on full blast yet it was off! Not sure if we were over the sauna but it felt like it! No sheets required! A pleasant stay.

This property is a bit dated, and you can tell it was glamorous back in its day. Still, though, it looks like they're making upgrades and I hope someone pours in some money to make it really pop again. Having said this, the staff at the front desk were fantastic, breakfast was plentiful and good, and the indoor pool and bayside garden areas were lovely. My room was huge and comfortable, and the view overlooking the bay was wonderful! Only complaint is that it's a long walk to the back of the property to these rooms, and there's not an elevator/lift for the rooms with the killer views. So if you have mobility issues, keep that in mind. Still, it's worth it to stay here and be away from the hustle of Dublin City Center. It's peaceful and serene in Sutton, the train is only an 8 minute walk, and beautiful Howth is right next door.

The hotel was lovely overall and the location was amazing. The rooms are basic but have what you need. The staff were absolutely fantastic!! The changing rooms and the pool area was not clean. I am not sure when the floor in the changing rooms have been cleaned.

L'hôtel est bien situé, en bordure de mer. J'ai été accueillie par un personnel très sympathique et serviable. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Toutefois on sent que l'hôtel manque d'entretien : la plomberie est fatiguée voire abîmée par endroit et le ménage très approximatif, autant dans les chambres que dans l'espace piscine et sauna. Cet espace mériterait d'être entrenu car c'est pourtant un véritable plaisir de s'y rendre après une longue journée !

The room and bathroom were not cleaned well, there were stains on the bathroom floor. There was a distinct smell in the room as well, almost like weed/pot in some parts of the room. The lamp shades and curtains were dirty. No room service available. Needed to take an elevator up a floor, then another set of stairs to get to our room (inconvenient). No room service available. In order to use pool facilities, one must go to front desk, get a code, then walk OUTSIDE to then access the pool. Layout is not great. The last thing: when we left the room to be serviced for the day, we returned to find our door had not been closed and locked properly. We had a concern for our valuables. Positives include a modern standalone shower with rainhead, a beautiful ocean view, access to plugs for charging electronics, and renovated furnishings. In summary, it is an old hotel, that has been revamped to appear more modern and compete with newer, more commercial competitors. However, it falls short due to the lack of cleanliness, safety and policies of the hotel. The renovations do not extend to the remainder of the hotel to provide cohesiveness throughout the property and fails to provide the premium experience it advertises.

Slightly outside the city centre, but very convenient for those familiar with the city, and with the DART transport system. A lovely hotel, right on the water, so make time to enjoy sitting in the garden, it is spotlessly clean and with very helpful and friendly staff. Not my first time staying here, and certainly not my last.

One of the best midweek stays I have ever had. The room was extraordinary, clean and spacious and so comofrtable and the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome as a solo traveller, checmking in with me each day to see how I was so that I felt welcome and comfortable. I ate at the hotel each night and the food was first rate and there was a good selection. The setting was right on a beautiful beach with views across Dublin Bay that could be enjoyed from the large windows while eating breakfast, pure magic.

Very sunny days, for Ireland a shock. No air conditioning or fans in room meant every day room too hot. Needed door open for cool air from corridor; this applies to our sea view room described as superior. NOTE hotel is on a very busy junction n easy to miss when entering.

The location was great but the hotel is tired and can use a facelift. The worst part is how loud it was. A wedding happened and the guest came to their rooms at 3:30am talking loud and slamming doors. Every footstep anyone took in the room above us was heard loud and clear.

Staff were lovely on reception. We stayed in a standard room but it’s dated and the furniture is worn. The bathroom shower was leaking the whole time and definitely needs replacing asap. The toilet didn’t work we had to flush 3 and 4 times and it still didn’t flush properly. We still love this hotel but the standard rooms definitely need upgrading asap. I would love a free upgrade to a superior next time we bisit which we intend to very soon.

Beautiful view from our room of the sea. Very nice and clean room, as well as bathroom. Fiona at the reception desk is wonderful. Service for drinks in Schooner bar was terrible except to get drinks. I had to tell the bartender twice we needed to order food and even found the young waiter to tell him. I was told they had 4 events going on at the same time. Bed and pillows not comfortable. No AC, but weather was cool outside. However, had to close window because small flies flew inside. I would consider staying here again.

Room was very good, with view of sea! Had dinner and food was excellent! Breakfast was good and handy to DART into central Dublin!

The hotel is situated within easy walking distance from the Dart train station, which takes you to Dunlin centre or to the beautiful habour and cliff walks of Howth. The Scooners bar is great and the food fabulous. Breakfast was a little disappointing for non-meat eaters but there was enough cold options. It was good that the pool opened early and closed late giving us lots of opportunity to swim. Our room was lovely but SO hot!! It was like the heating was on full blast yet it was off! Not sure if we were over the sauna but it felt like it! No sheets required! A pleasant stay.

One of the best midweek stays I have ever had. The room was extraordinary, clean and spacious and so comofrtable and the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome as a solo traveller, checmking in with me each day to see how I was so that I felt welcome and comfortable. I ate at the hotel each night and the food was first rate and there was a good selection. The setting was right on a beautiful beach with views across Dublin Bay that could be enjoyed from the large windows while eating breakfast, pure magic.

It was close to the bus which allowed us to explore Towth. We were given a room with problems and had to wait one full day before they gave us a new room. Internet was flaky and didn't work most of the time. There was no drinking water in the room. No fridge either. The property is nice as it overlooks Dublin Bay.

The room was fabulous - very spacious and with a lovely sea view. Also, really quiet. Staff were excellent. We ate one night in the bar and my husband said it was one of the best burgers he'd had.

Front of staff lady was very rude to guest before me. When we wanted to check in she was cheeky with me too. She insisted that i pay for the accomodation with the card i used for the reservation. I didnt have that particular card with me. Felt like she was pushing me through the process like in Lidl....next

I can only assume this place was once a nice hotel and it is now trying to glide by on that reputation. Our rooms were not available until more than 30 minutes past the check-in time. They refused to store our luggage for us in a secure location, so we had to sit in the lobby and wait for our rooms. We tried waiting in the bar, but they only had 2 employees covering the bar and dining area, so no one was there to assist us. Once we did get our rooms, the toilet in one room did not work. They said they would fix it while we went out to dinner. When we got back they said they did their best but it still wasn't working great. We asked the front desk to schedule a taxi to take us to the airport the following morning. I explained that there were 4 of us with luggage, so we would need a large vehicle. The next morning, I verified that the taxi was still scheduled and they confirmed it was but that they had not ordered a large enough vehicle for the 4 of us with luggage. Thankfully we asked her to get an appropriately vehicle, which did arrive in time, or half of us would have struggled to make our flight. Throughout each of these issues, the staff was unhelpful and acted uninterested in addressing or correcting these problems.

Room was excellent with a fantastic view of the sea. Staff were excellent especially Fiona on reception who was very helpful and nice to talk to. Management were excellent too. We had a slight issue with the furnishings.the Management sorted it and looked after us to the point when we checked out they helped carry our luggage to our car. Breakfast was very good , location for us was spot on. Special thanks also goes to the bar staff, the guiness was fantastic. Breakfast staff were also very professional and helpful too. Brilliant stay and returning in April.

Our stay at the Marine Hotel was a wonderful start to our vacation in Ireland! It is conveniently located 15 km from the Dublin Airport with ample free parking. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. This gorgeous property features an expansive green lawn and a walkway that brings you right to the edge of Dublin Bay. It was low tide, so we took a walk exploring the beach and looking for critters. The star of the show was the staff at the Marine Hotel. Fiona at reception was welcoming, patient and kind. She had a bright smile and answered all of our questions, which were many, with care and enthusiasm. Everyone we encountered from the bartender to housekeeping was friendly and smiling. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend a stay here on your next trip to Dublin.

Slightly outside the city centre, but very convenient for those familiar with the city, and with the DART transport system. A lovely hotel, right on the water, so make time to enjoy sitting in the garden, it is spotlessly clean and with very helpful and friendly staff. Food store nearby however not many restaurants in walking distance; no air conditioning. Great for train and bus service. Our room was very far from elevator (only 1). The seaside facing room had excellent view. The Italian restaurant was not open during our stay.

The location of this hotel is fabulous, right on the seafront of a beautiful coastline. It's close to the station so an easy trip into Dublin and lots to do locally, especially if you like golf and the outdoors. The hotel itself is very tired. It's is currently undergoing refurbishment and I hope it will be a lovely hotel once more. The breakfast team were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel as we were out and about and visited some lovely local restaurants, but over the weekend (which was a bank holiday) the restaurant was busy. Sadly the bar lacked a bit of atmosphere. We had a nice stay but the tired decor and facilities let it down. Hopefully the refurb will bring it up to a higher standard.

This is a dated hotel but is situated in Sutton village so has a supermarket and takeaways near by . It’s situated on the sea front so is the perfect location for the business traveller to park up the car and go for a walk or run .

This was the final night of our 8 day tour of Ireland. The hotel was fine but the meal we had in the evening was the WORST of our 8 day tour. The salmon was very, very dry and the potatoes and vegetables had obviously been cooked earlier in the day and then microwaved just before serving. It is such a shame that our final memory of Irish cuisine is this one!!! Terrible!!
