Sonesta Essential HOU Airport Road

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and again at the end of our trip due to the convenient location right next to the airport. We arrived at 1am and were told the reservation did not exist. After flying for over 12 hours with my 2 children, I went ahead and paid for the room again, even though I had already pre-paid. The next morning I spoke to a different person at the front desk who was able to credit me back because she said my reservation was there and verified it was prepaid. That was great!!! Going back the 2nd time, I was again told my reservation did not exist and that I would have to call hotels.com and ask for a refund and to be assigned to another hotel. I spent over an hour talking to hotels.com and they called the front desk while I was there. He told them my reservation was not there, but truth was he did not even check. Hotels.com told him to scan my ID which he did, and BEHOLD, my reservation suddenly popped up. All that hassle for nothing. Property was very dirty. When I turned back the covers on the bed, there was a nice spider waiting for me to join him. There are few things in life that I can say I will never do again, and staying at this property again is definitely one of them.

It was clean but the inside of the tub was peeling, just needs to be refinished. The place where the a/c unit is placed was not really cooling the room but by morning it was cold. Over all, not a bad stay and the price Is always reasonable.

Did not trust eating here so I have no idea how breakfast taste; but items were very basic. I did notice they had people from a sister location around the corner coming here to eat. For what reason IDK. Worst experience ever! Never stayed in my room because I felt like something was going to eat me up. I still ended up sleping in my van in the parking lot. Construction also makes it very difficult to enter the property parking lot. Super large roaches crawling around. Found 1 dead in lobby. Ice machine was broken. Jacuzzi also broken and not listed as broken on website. Bed linens were ripped up. No matress covers. Wood Furniture was deteriorating, chairs were stained, outdated and dusty. Carpet in room was soaked with filth. My tub was not even glazed! Chips of peeling glaze at the bottom and the drain of tub. They stated all the tubs looked that way. Has to be against health code to lease these rooms under the conditions they are in. The front desk chairs were also peeling like they got them out of a dumpster. Also had huge swipes of plaster going across the wall behind front desk. I usually do not leave reviews, but this was too unacceptable! I also have all photos and will be going to corporate on this location. No signs up stating they are renovating or intend to. Front desk was very nonchalant about the condition of the property. I understand they may be in fear of loosing their jobs. However the new girl did suggest I go to corporate and I am!
