Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South by IHG

Convenient access to area attractions. Very kind staff. Recommend they fix the large hole in the drive at the start of the parking lot, and suggest a "No Left Turn"or "Right turn only" sign to alert guests as they leave the property.

parking lot had lots of potholes and the bathroom still seemed dirty upon arrival (floors). our room was not ready upon arrival despite showing up at 3pm. bedroom had good lighting and everything worked fine.

In the work out room the treadmill did not work and the TV did not work. It was nice overall but there was peeling paint in the bathroom area, a bathroom fan might help with that.

Room was clean. Window shade didn't work, Staff did not care, said there was no repairman. 24 Hr coffee bar was a plus, but there was no creamer after the first day. Staff reply, "We out." Breakfast was good. When I asked for a receipt at checkout, the mgr said "We cant do that". WHAT? Parking lot was a mass of potholes. I will never stay at another IHG hotel

Staying at this Holiday Inn was lovely. The breakfast was delicious and I was surprised at how many different food options there were. We loved the close proximity to restaurants and downtown Blowing Rock. The pool was also great! Would definitely stay again.

Everything was great. Easy check in, friendly staff, breakfast was good. Only disappointment was no indoor pool anymore!

I marked down a little just because a few things were not in working order, for which they were apologetic. Elevator was out of order. First room, the electronic shade was stuck in closed - they quickly reassigned me. The second room, the light filtering shade was stuck down but the room darker ing one was working. At breakfast the pancake machine wasnt working properly. I think it's a good option, they are just maybe having a run of repairs, mostly minor.

Clean bathroom and tub-shower! No mold! Front desk person tries really hard to please! Driveways are potholed and horrible! Staff smoking 10 feet from rear entry door.

They really need to do something with their parking lot. It's absolutely ratchet. But other than that it's been pretty great

We had a great stay! The room was spotless and it smelled very nice. The towels were crisp white as well as the beds! They have a very nice complementary breakfast with your stay which we enjoyed.

The bathroom was pretty gross - both live drain flies and lots of previously killed ones on the ground and walls. Mold evident in the shower.

The room was dirty. There was hair in the bed when we turned the covers down. The entry way and bathroom had hair all over the floor. I asked the cleaning lady to change the bed linens and vacuum the floors. When we returned to the room the sheets had been changed; however, there was still hair on the sheets. She did come back and half way vacuum the floor past the first bed; however, she didn't vacuum the entry way, bathroom or the carpet by the second bed. I suggest your cleaning people need training on how to properly clean the room. Rest assure I will never go back to that hotel again.

The hotel in general is good, it's not luxurious, the location is very good, the breakfast was horrible. All the staff were always very attentive and ready to help, in that aspect everything was very good. My only problem was with the cleanliness, the bathroom is very small for someone traveling with a family, I noticed during the shower that the water didn't flow through the pipe and the bathtub was full, dirt came out of the drain and it was disgusting. The truth is that the drain was blocked and had a lot of dirt from other guests, hair and other things. I asked for help at the front desk, but since it was late at night I only cleaned it the next day, the truth is that I cleaned it myself.

This hotel was not worth the price. I was greeted by a staff that had no personality at all. Which was fine for me I don’t need to talk much but if you like that kinda thing it’s probably not for you. They are like robots no smiles or anything. It was odd. My husband kept telling me it was a creepy hotel. Felt like we were gonna get abducted or something. When we got to the room the beds were made but there was sticky stuff all over the counters. They had not been wiped down and there were garbage on the floor it clearly had not been vacuumed. It made me worry whether the beds had actually been changed. Probably not unless that’s all they did. There was also dirty wash cloths hanging from the shower. I went and asked a housekeeper for some cleaner and a rag and she acted shocked and offered to come clean it but at that point I didn’t trust it to be done well so I told her I’d do it myself and wiped the whole place down. So after I cleaned it myself it was decent. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. You can hear everything going on around you. Luckily my neighbors calmed down around midnight. I am not a light sleep er and it was even a lot of noise for me. Breakfast was decent but get there early because they are not interested in replacing things. There were a lot of people who were upset about that while we were there. I did like the size of the rooms and the big windows. There is a lot of room to hang your stuff and a big bench to put your bags.

The property is in a great location and has huge potential but the overall cleanliness is a problem. It took three attempts to get a room that was reasonably clean, still with hair everywhere but okay. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good but the price does not necessarily reflect the condition of the rooms.

The restroom was dirty, the closet did not have a bar or hangers. The tv reception was grainy. I mentioned this to the front desk and got a look of a deer in headlights. The next day git a text from the hotel asking about my stay. I relaid to them about The dirty bathroom and items left behind from the last guest. They never responded. I even sent pictures. The best part of all this is a advertisement on the in room tv about how they take cleanliness very serious.

Not good. The shower was not cleaned. Hair in it and a used disgusting dirty washrag hanging on the shower curtain rod. There was poop on the outside edge of the toilet. Pictures of both were sent to hotel staff. Pretty grossed out.

Hotel was clean and well staffed. Breakfast was also done well. Walls must be thin as we heard voices from hallways and rooms above us. Fortunately they quieted at a reasonable hour.

The air conditioner/heater is right next to bed and blowings air directly on the person sleeping in the bed. Very uncomfortable.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was enjoyable, earning its solid 4 out of 5 rating. The bed was excellent—comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring a restful night. However, cleanliness could be improved, as the entryway and bathroom tiles felt slightly sticky, and when we wiped up a spill, the rag picked up noticeable dirt. The breakfast, often praised in reviews, was certainly above average compared to typical hotel offerings, but we found the selection of healthy options to be quite limited. Sound insulation is one area for improvement, which is common across many U.S. hotels. Noise from the hallway was easily heard inside the room, and vice versa, occasionally disrupting the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel delivers a quality experience and is well worth considering for a stay.

Room smelled a little like smoke, but it was fine.

Love the price point, location, and pet friendliness. The room’s ac wasn’t working properly and the room was wet like so wet the carpet was. Rooms need some upgrades as well things were a little worn out.

Location, pool time, clean rooms & a very good breakfast. Negative would be the location of ac. Blowing right on the bed where you sleep

Location was great for what I needed. The bed was comfortable and I got a great night of sleep.

Only one of the four USB inputs worked in the room. Other than that, everything was good.

Really hate we ended up not staying because I was excited about the breakfast and coffee lol but check in was horrible. Got there after 4 and room wasn't ready. Lots of people having issues with check in. Booked a King size room and ended up getting the 2 beds. After waiting an hour to even get a room number, once we got one we just decided to go elsewhere since it wasn't the King size we originally booked and everyone seemed to be having issues at check in.

Check in time is 3:00. Our room was not ready until 8:00 pm. The staff apologized.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South is fantastic...so friendly, so helpful. They have a lovely and very clean hotel with an outstanding breakfast.

The phone did not work. The staff had a poor attitude. Two elevators were out of service. Huge hole in driveway. Front desk clerk had an attitude that was very condescending.

Apparently someone aka morning front desk clerk, checked us out 1 day early, and around 6pm-6:30pm night front desk called me while i was driving to the hotel, said i need to talk to you, you've been checked out, i said i am about to pull in, she loudly shouted, no, i need to talk to you, i said im driving and pulling in to the hotel now. Never got an apology from her, cleaning staff was very apologetic.

Our room wasn't ready until 5:30pm. Staff were cleaning rooms until 10pm. Very noisy listening to the vacuuming and staff talking loudly in hallway. Check it time was 3pm. Everyone checking in were told their rooms were not ready also. This property is having major problems. Id recommend folks sty in Boone rather than Blocking Rocks.

We arrived after all rooms should have been cleaned, but due to a cleaning staff shortage-many people were waiting. The young man checking us in on the 14th was under much pressure, but handled the bad situation very well. He accommodated my request for a convenient room which was ready when we came back from dinner.

The room was clean and exactly what I needed for my trip. The provided breakfast was good and the location is excellent for exploring Blowing Rock.

Little bit out of town but a nice base to explore the area. If you’re ok with walking (we are) it was only 20 mins to main st

Staff was very friendly and efficient. Great location for our activities. Plenty of parking. Very satisfactory breakfast, coffee available all day. Quiet and no sound leakage from other rooms.

Slept very well!! Had everything we needed. Close to downtown Blowing Rock.

The Holiday Inn Express in Blowing Rock was a decent place to stay. The room was comfortable with the typical amenities. The staff was nice and accommodating. I would recommend it for a weekend trip. It is close to the town of Blowing Rock and convenient to local attractions.

Location was great for what I needed. The bed was comfortable and I got a great night of sleep.

Great stay, especially the breakfast! While volunteering for Operation Christmas Child in Boone, I enjoyed this Holiday Inn Express!

We definitely had a great stay, the Hotel and rooms were very clean, staff were very nice and friendly too. The BEST part was BREAKFAST, in all of my travels over many years at different Hotels your Hotel had the best breakfast selection and food quality we’ve ever had. You definitely have the greatest chef on site. We definitely plan to return in the very near future as our choice hotel to stay. Thank you 😊
