My family and I stayed at this hotel when it was a different name. That was 20 years ago. The new owner has done a good job keeping the property up.

Hotel was probably fine for someone showing up for beach days. But for over $200 a night (after taxes/fees), I expected more. There was obvious water damage and staining above the window near the ceiling. The sink drained very slowly. One lamp had a flickering light and the other lamp didn't work at all. The non-functioning lamp was plugged into an outlet that had some shard of metal sticking out of one of the plugs. Lastly, the TV was non functioning. We tried the breakfast the first morning. We were not impressed and found other options for breakfast for the rest of our stay. Parking on our last night was problematic. There was only one spot left, and it was the EV parking spot. Since they charge $15 a night for parking, there should be sufficient spots for all guests, without parking in EV or handicapped spots. If you just want a place to crash for the night after a long day at the beach, this place is probably fine for one night. But $200 is too much for what they offer.

All was clean, friendly, convenient to everything in Fernandina. We have been going there a few times a year for many years and never had a bad experience. Already talking about our next stay. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic spot! It was so close to the beach and an amazing restaurant (Salt Life Food Shack), Fort Clinch (so historical and interesting) and downtown!
