Plas Glynllifon Mansion

An amazing place to visit. Couldn't speak highly enough. The rooms were cozy and warm despite how large they were. The owner was a very friendly chap who instantly made you feel welcome. The grounds were great to walk around and relaxing. The breakfast staff were genuinely great people and polite. Had a warm atmosphere. The building needs renovating but knew that before arriving and reflected in the price. Would definitely return.

If you’re looking for somewhere with Character and friendly owners this is an excellent choice. The property is currently being renovated so you can grab a bargain. The property has some amazing grounds to walk around as well, so if you’re looking for somewhere to escape for a few days this is a great choice. Alternatively it’s also a great place to visit other areas from as well.

This massive renovation project was really exciting to see. It will be fantastic when it's finished. Our rooms were utterly amazing. We would definitely come here again.

Very diffrent place to stay, but worth it, dont expect all the mod cons,but thats the point the rooms were clean, the water was hot and the building is amazing.

A remarkable building, but still very much a work in progress Plas Glynllifon is an extraordinary place to stay. The building is genuinely impressive, full of history and character, and staying there feels very different from a conventional hotel. The welcome was friendly, the room was comfortable and breakfast was good. The setting is also excellent for exploring this part of North Wales. It is important to be realistic, though: this is still very much a hotel in development. Some of the facilities and infrastructure are not yet at the standard you would expect from a fully established hotel. During my stay the Wi-Fi was unreliable, there were no TVs in the rooms, and some parts of the property were clearly still being brought back into use. None of that spoiled my stay, because I knew I was staying somewhere that is being restored and developed rather than at a finished luxury hotel. In some ways it was interesting to see the building at this stage. There is no restaurant or bar at present, although there are places nearby. I particularly enjoyed Ty’n Llan, which is roughly a 20-minute walk away and was excellent for an evening meal. The real attraction here is the building itself and its potential. If the owners continue improving the practical side of the hotel while preserving its character, Plas Glynllifon could become somewhere genuinely special. I would stay again, but I would recommend arriving with the expectation that you are visiting a fascinating historic
