Solar de Lalém

Very charming B&B full of atmosphere and history, with an amazing view over the charming seaside village of Maia and a beautiful green garden (including a pool). The personnel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, including both eggs, cheese, bread, yoghurts, cereals and fruits. I asked for oats as well and they arranged that. The location is excellent for a quiet stay on gorgeous São Miguel yet still well-located for excursions to Nordeste, Furnas, Lagoa do Fogo, Ribeira Grande and Ponta Delgada. Also, the B&B is located within walking distance from the centre of the village (Maia) which is home to various small shops. Only one evening restaurant is open in October though (O Estrela, by the sea - excellent fish dishes!). I would happily stay at Solar de Lalém again!

Solar muito bonito e acolhimento dos funcionários fantástico desde a chegada ao pequeno almoço. Deitar e acordar ao som dos passarinhos, para quem gosta, é maravilhoso. As instalações sempre muito limpas. Lugar muito charmoso e familiar. Sendo um solar , tem muitas escadas e nao é recomendado para pessoas com dificuldades de mobilidade

Clean beautiful room! Rod was very friendly and helpful, responding immediately if I had questions. He even was able to bookme a last minute massage, which was WONDERFUL and worth booking in advance.
