Beautiful building full of character features. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Room was spotless but a little dated. Huge lounge where you can sit in the evening and a lovely garden. Breakfast options were limited but the overall price is unbeatable value for money.

Received notice after booked there would be no dinner service. When I got into the room there was no Wi-Fi and was told I could come to the lobby if I wanted Wi-Fi. They were working on it, but it was not available in my room. There was a cobweb hanging down from the light fixture. Free view went out in the storm, so was reliant on my phone.

As a review I read after booking this said, the hotel is a case of faded glory. It’s a beautiful building, but needs a lot of refurbishment and upgrading. Our room was cold and even though cleaned well, it didn’t feel clean due to the faded carpet, chipping paint, etc. The parking lot is a disaster waiting to happen. First off, no lights up there for safety/security. Second, the morning we left, it was after a storm that left heavy ice on everything. I nearly fell down walking up the hill to the lot and over to my car. Nothing had been done to melt the ice or provide any traction to the asphalt. Not at all safe! All the staff were wonderful, but they can’t make up for the lack of maintenance, which falls to the owners. Also, the breakfast was a continental one, not an English breakfast as stated in the listing. So overall, we felt a little misled, especially since we had no option but to book non-refundable.

There is no restaurant. The bar does not have a licence, the photos on the internet are flattering. The driveway is so badly potholed it could seriously damage the unwary drivers wheels and tyres. The breakfast is rather lacking and slow. Friendly staff, but without any resource to help. TV screen not visible from the bed unless you sit at the foot end. food options plentiful in Bingley but all a good walk down a fairly long hill (and consequently back up a fairly long hill to come back)

Beautiful listed building and a real treat to be able to stay there. However it was cold and we had to ask for blankets on the bed as the heating was switched off at night. There's no cooked breakfast despite it saying there was at the weekend. After we'd booked we received an email to tell us this and also there was no alcohol licence so the bar only sells soft drinks. However you can take your alcohol and drink it in the bar or restaurant, so that saves a lot of money.

Ma première chambre n’avez pas de chauffage dans le salle de bains alors on me l’a changé. J’ai oublié une paire de chaussures dans l’armoire et 4 heures plus tard ils n’y étaient plus !!!!! Des chaussures très chers ! Pas de restaurant le soir , et l’hôtel situé dans un endroit sans restaurant ni magasin. Des pris pour la bouillotte parterre avec un cordon très court ! Un lit bombé et je me suis presque trouvé parterre. Les jeunes personelles en jeans ….. etc etc etc!

We were the only people staying and became snowed in during one of the heaviest snowfalls of this century. Unfortunately, the only service offered by the hotel was a continental breakfast. We could not walk anywhere due to conditions and distance, luckily we did have food and a bottle of wine for our Sunday dinner! The hotel and its surrounds were wonderful and made for a brilliant experience in a winter wonderland.

Staff were friendly and very polite, but seemed short-staffed. Room was lovely, big and very clean. However, the hotel advertises family rooms with cots. After some confusion when we arrived (we were initially told on arrival that they don't have any cots), a cot was eventually found. That was all ok, but the next morning when we went to breakfast we discovered there were no highchairs and a member of staff told us they don't have any. So I had to feed my 1.5 yr old on my lap. It wasn't the end of the world, but if you're travelling with babies or toddlers I'd consider that, before booking.

Very helpful staff. Our twin room was spotless and a good size and had everything we needed for our two night stay. Breakfast was included. Not a great selection of food and the bread, cheese and meat was all a little tired. Marvellous, interesting building. I would definitely stay again. I can’t recommend the owners and staff highly enough.

Location was good. The bed we slept in was terrible, propped up with wooden blocks & very uncomfortable. Shower very slow. Reception unmanned most of the time. However did not spoil our 2 night stay too much. More professional management input needed to succeed.

I had to cancel my booking which I did through Expedia . Then I kept getting phone calls and texts from a landline and a mobile number while I was out with my partner and friends . Very helpful staff. Our twin room was spotless and a good size and had everything we needed for our two night stay. Breakfast was included. Not a great selection of food and the bread, cheese and meat was all a little tired. Marvellous, interesting building. I would definitely stay again. I can’t recommend the owners and staff highly enough.

There is no restaurant. The bar does not have a licence, the photos on the internet are flattering. The driveway is so badly potholed it could seriously damage the unwary drivers wheels and tyres. Ma première chambre n’avez pas de chauffage dans le salle de bains alors on me l’a changé. J’ai oublié une paire de chaussures dans l’armoire et 4 heures plus tard ils n’y étaient plus !!!!! We were the only people staying and became snowed in during one of the heaviest snowfalls of this century. Unfortunately, the only service offered by the hotel was a continental breakfast. We could not walk anywhere due to conditions and distance, luckily we did have food and a bottle of wine for our Sunday dinner! The hotel and its surrounds were wonderful and made for a brilliant experience in a winter wonderland.

We enjoyed staying here again and appreciated that they tried to accommodate our requirements. The reason why we've given a 4 star rating (instead of 5) is that compared with our first stay last year, the breakfast was very basic and disappointing. Hopefully this will improve.

Ignore the bad reviews this place was really good!! The breakfast was a continental so no fine dining or buffet but suffice none the less. The staff were very friendly. I enquired about the price of a room upgrade which was sorted straight away. The building was amazing and had so much character everywhere you looked. Overall we enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely return and recommend to others Thank you

No staff around, so couldn't get coffee, luckily another guest gave me the end of their pot so I could have some. 2nd morning I didn't bother with breakfast and got some in a cafe in town.
