Wicker Guesthouse

We had a great stay at the Wicker Guesthouse. Right on Duval Street, close to everything. There's a nice pool and dining area in a private setting.

The property was beautiful and our rooms were very clean. It's very convenient location right next to all the action on Duvall Street, but it was quiet to be able to sleep at night. Highly recommended. The only negative was they were fixing pool deck, so my daughters didn't want to swim while the men were working the area by pool. Otherwise all good!

We enjoyed our three night stay. This is a cluster of small buildings with multiple rooms in each. Nice swimming pool and grounds. Right on Duval Street in the middle of restaurants and shopping.

The front desk was wonderful, pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The layout of the property and parking was a bit confusing. The room was very clean and the maid service was good!! Giving us new towels, especially beach towels. The grounds need attention !!!!. Rotted stair rails, the trek floor around the pool is not secure. Feels like the wood holding the trek deck is rotted underneath. It bows down and someone will fall through one of these days. The location is great. You're right on the main street and can walk to most everything.

It was about a mile from Mallory Square so within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. The staff was very kind and helpful. When we could not find parking, they helped us by moving our car when a spot opened up. The pool and breakfast areas were very nicely landscaped, and a very nice place to hang out.

Was very pleasantly surprised after I read some reviews by naysayers. Room was clean and spacious (tv, though, on a small scale) but the checkin was thorough, quick, informative and the people at the front desk (dealt a lot with Emma) were eager to please. Free parking a bonus, the free morning continental breakfast was very thorough, pool was nice and the location (didnt need to drive anywhere) couldnt be beat.

Great location. Clean. Pet friendly. At check in parking full but they allowed me to block park for check in and they took my keys and moved it for me later. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

This stay was great. Everything was wonderful. Service was spectacular. The grounds were beautiful the pool was a nice end to the day.

There’s alot to like , location is good, property is in good condition, breakfast area is nice. They own a few properties spread over a couple block area so we walked about a block to the pool and the breakfast area. Be advised that parking is a bit of a mess. They advertise free offsite parking, but tell you when you arrive that you will have to leave your car keys with them so they can move around your vehicle into street parking to make room for the guests who arrive after you. You could go out to get into your car and it could be anywhere within a few blocks of your room. The person at the desk is not the friendliest and will tell you that they only have 10 parking spots for 40 guests. They constantly juggle cars and parking spots and who knows who’s driving your car. They squeezed mine in so tight I couldn’t get into my hatch and if they are gone for the day you’re out of luck. I wouldn’t have booked had I known so thought I would share. Adding a photo of the spec they left between my car and the car in front of it when they moved it without letting me know. I’d guess it was an inch and half at best.

I have to mention the rooms were very clean, I’ll give them 10 in this case; but the facility is in needing of a renovation, one of the room’s bathroom is small and old at the point that the shower has black mold borders. The pool area should be attended in a better way. In general the hotel needs a renovation. Also, my car was parked in the street all the time, they don’t have their own parking spots.

We always stay at Wicker House when in Key West- its right on Duval, spotlessly clean, nice to have breakfast and above all else- Emma is wonderful! I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The place was just dirty everywhere our window air-conditioning unit. I had to clean the filter. It’s pet friendly so dogs peed on the potted plants. The pool was cloudy. We will never stay there again.

The location was amazing right on duval street and everything was within walking distance. The floors need serious cleaning. I walked barefoot and my feet turned black from the dirt! Not good. The AC did not work great, so our room stayed humid and hot. We couldn’t lower the unit below 70 because signs said it would freeze over but keeping it at 70 was hard because we were sweating a lot. The fan was extremely dusty so we didn’t even want to use it because dust would fly all over our things. This place needs some TLC for sure. It’s a great location but please do better with cleaning. That was our number 1 complaint

What a disappointment! After booking the property bc it had a good rating on Expedia and paying $450 a night, we expected it to be at least clean. Never mind to get through the room you had to walk down a dimly lit alley off of Duval Street, and the stained and ripped furniture and area in front of the door looked like something out of a Dateline episode. Once inside, the floors were absolutely filthy (one swipe with a wet towel turned the towel black), there was garbage left under the bed from the previous inhabitants, the vent in the bathroom was full of dust, the toilet full of rust. The room was absolutely tiny, with no closet or drawer space. (All we got were a couple of hangers on a hook on the wall for storage). The air conditioner smelled musty when you turned it on and the fridge froze everything inside of it. Two outlets didnt work. We immediately alerted the front desk and they said they would have someone come clean. We came back from our day out - and housekeeping still hadn't come, but they did drop off an air purifier in the room. We let the desk know again - and still nothing. So we went to bed. Or tried to - the dog in the next room barked ALL NIGHT. We asked to move rooms - they said they had none available even though on Expedia there were available rooms. All we got was another drop off - this time a white noise machine. All for $450 a night! Bonus - no bedbugs, roof didn't leak and towels were thin but thankfully clean. Never again!

When we woke, we realized the room was pretty dingy with weird stains on the walls & chairs. Parts of the wall were crumbling & the door didn’t close properly. We had a day trip booked so while the room wasn’t desirable, we weren’t going to be in it long so we headed out. We went to the office to let them know it wasn’t great, but no one was there. When we returned at 7 pm, our room still hadn’t been made up. I went to the front desk to get some new towels (2 is what they give you), and as we freshening up for dinner, housekeeping showed up so we had to decline as we were showering. That night we it appeared someone had filled all the other ashtrays into the one on our back porch and left it there. It rained and they were everywhere making the outdoor space unusable. On the third day the mess was still there and our room had still not been tended to. We tried to pop in to the front desk upon our check out to complain about the conditions, but no one was in the office again. I find all of this unacceptable for a hotel that cost $820 for three days. I’ve been in cleaner & nicer motels. Hotels.com reached out to the property, but they declined compensation as we “didn’t bring it to their attention.” We tried to visit the front desk multiple times, but it was closed including 8:15 am (hours say 8 am-9 pm).

This place is way overpriced. Ice machine didn’t work. Housekeeping wouldn’t give us towels when we asked for some. Floors were dirty. Finding room was confusing.

Pool was great; A/C was great; location was very good. Unfortunately, the room was teeny; barely enough space to walk around the bed. And the "room" was literally just a bed and bathroom. Might be fine for one skinny person, but definitely not recommended for 2 heftier Midwesterners like us. Way too expensive for what you get.

I would love to give this place 5 stars, it was clean, staff were great, room was well appointed, bed was the most comfortable I’ve been in in ages. The location is fantastic right in the middle of Duval Street. The only problem was the bar next door Viva who seemed to insist on making as much noise as they could for as long as they could without any consideration for a guest house next door. They seemed to move the entertainment outside right next to the guest house as the evening progresses despite having an inside area. Without these inconsiderate neighbours it would be an idyllic place to stay.

The location was excellent. Front desk staff were excellent, very helpful and always there to assist even booking places and excursions. Parking was good as we were able to park our rented golf cart in the front. However the rooms were not as pictured in Expedia. They were outdated and in need of repairs. The awning on the outside of our door looked like a hurricane had torn it to shreds and had been that way for a long time. The breakfast was nothing special...cereal, store bought muffins and thawed out bagels and pastries. The breakfast did not start until 8am. We got coffee across the street at a coffee place. The restaurant next door at midnight or shortly after decided that throwing their empty beer bottles into their dumpster was a great idea. Overall I would not stay there again. For the price there is better and I have stayed in better places in Key West before.

We have stayed in this hotel twice now the first time in number 106. The air conditioner was extremely noisy and sounded like it was going to die. I told them about it and they said they would address it. Two weeks later we met people that were staying in 106 and they said it was still noisy and sounded like it was going to die. We were in room 216 this time and the floor felt like we were going to fall through it was so soft in places.

We had a single queen small room and when they say Small they truly mean it. Smaller than any room I’ve seen in US or Europe. It was clean and comfortable and conveniently located. However it was quite noisy until after 2am and just so very very small. The pool areas and the breakfast were great and the staff was nice. Perhaps pick a larger style room and bring earplugs.

For starters, this is one of the types of facilities that you want to book a certain room not the hotel General reservation. Since this is a group of many buildings to it, and the quality of the room goes from a very basic room to a nice luxury room. We booked a room for five and luckily the manager was on site during check-in to move us to a room that would fit our family. Our first room was way too small. Reason for removing one star removed because the Wi-Fi did not work. The AC would not cool and TV wasnt working. We reported this at time of check-in and no maintenance arrived. We called the After Hours phone number. Nobody answered. Second day we checked on status, no work order. During our stay Wi-Fi never worked. AC had trouble keeping up with the high heat. We did figure out how to make TV to work. Requires input to be HDMI . I removed the second star as the building we were in the bathroom windows are clear glass. The shades were broken. There was no curtain. I was surprised to have a man start talking to me while I was in the shower outside by a window. I had small children with me. See photos.. Management was notified and they stated they would address the issue. Something that should've been addressed long time ago. Breakfast is basic. Facility was clean. Location is perfect.. staff was friendly, but overwhelmed by the number of clients during check-in. For a family of five we were paying over 500 per night. You pay for location.

Convenient location. Had a room across street in Olivia by Duval. Side gate to main Wicker property was right there. So still easy access to breakfast, which was basic continental. Olivia also had it's own pool complex. Bed was comfortable. Room was small and connected to another room through a thin door. Heard neighbors well, especially when they left the TV on all night.

Excellent stay! Amazing location and bungalows in back was perfect for our family, close to all the action but quiet. Only concern was that wifi didn’t work the whole time we were there. But other than that will stay again there

We were given an attic room that you could only stand in the center. One small window and steep attic stairs. No real fire escape.

No hot water the entire stay.

For someone who has experience traveling a lot, this was my first time that I was told there was no flexibility with late checkout. My flight was delayed until 6pm and I asked if I could stay a couple hours before leaving, however, I was told no unless if $75 fee was paid. Would I recommend this place? No really, too expensive for what it is, location is good but that’s all.

Check in was easy. Room was clean, cozy & comfortable! GG was very knowledgeable of the Wicker Guesthouse & the surrounding area. She was very polite and friendly to everyone she engaged. The employees taking care of the rooms, breakfast & the grounds did an amazing job! A quiet place to retreat & relax after a day on Duval Street!

The staff here was awesome! GG made sure we had parking and even called our excursion for us to find out if it was cancelled and gave us other ideas for activities! Couldn’t ask for a better location either!

Great location and friendly service. Gigi from front desk and all staff are always available when needed. The location is great since you can go walking to all major attractions / spots. Breakfast is good an free parking (but limited is available)

The location is wonderful. The pool area is like an oasis from the craziness on Duval but if you choose to participate you are only seconds away from the bars and festivities that key west is known for. The real benefit of this property was GG, the lady who worked the desk. She was there for our every need. She helped us move to a room closer to our friends. And helped us to find dining and entertainment and also helped us find a place to renew our wedding vows. She truly made our vacation complete.

A very Key-Westy hotel in Key West. Not fancy, but pricey! Rooms are spread around multiple old houses across 2-3 city blocks, so you may find yourself across the street or so from the main lobby building.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect with plenty to do within walking distance. The beds were comfortable. Pool area is nice and pretty at night. Free parking is a huge plus. Only complaint was our room didnt get too cool with the a/c. However, we will come back and stay another time.

Right next to my room was a bar/restaurant, they blasted pounding, obnoxiously loud music from 10:00 am until midnight everyday, it drove my totally crazy

Close to everything. Noise was not a problem. Property needs some updates. Overall happy with the stay.

Centrally located on Duval street. Little loud with the bars next door late night.. but other than that a great stay! Will be back

Nice place, great location with fabulous restaurants and bars surrounding the hotel. Short walk to the “main” area on Duval. Wonderful karaoke bar around the corner. Lots of locals who can really belt out a tune, especially the bartenders.

Right on Duval. Can walk to southernmost point, Hemingway house, light house, and much more.

The staff was friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable. The attention to small details, such as labeling the light switches, made us feel welcome. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and the ample outdoor seating was tropical and beautiful. We recommend staying here for a stay in Key West.

Stayed here with my husband and 5 year old daughter. Room was spacious and clean. Pool was nice. Convenient for walking. Breakfast in the morning in pool deck was also very nice. Had fresh bagels from Goldman's bagels, fruits, cereals, hard boiled eggs, coffee, and juices. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very good, but I think the breakfast could be improved

Wonderful location, right in the heart of Key West. Walkable to restaurants, entertainment, and tourist attractions. It was a very convenient place to stay and leisurely explore the anrea. Our room was a decent size with comfortable beds. The rooms are spread out in different old homes within a block or two radius and we were visiting with extended family so our rooms weren’t close, but it was doable. Kids loved the heated pool. Parking was provided but pretty tight due to narrow one-way roads. Breakfast was pretty basic. Would definitely stay again.

The trip started with the Wicker House contacting us to make sure we were able to secure a late check in because they had not yet heard from us. We were so very appreciative and they made it easy for us to do so and make sure we were checked in and comfy upon arrival. The location is FABULOUS. Right where you want and need to be when visiting Key West. Beds were super duper comfy, bathroom big and shower worked great. The continental breakfast was just what is needed to get the day going with a little of this and that and enough variety to please everyone. Highly recommend the Wicker Guesthouse.

Great place with great location. Excellent continental breakfast at no extra cost. A little difficult for early to bed types due to music from bar next door but 1am cut off is strictly observed.

Communal areas were grubby and dirty especially the food waste bin at breakfast

We were there for a 4-day vacation. Great location, we walked to everything. Nice front porch and a good free breakfast. Truman- their kitten in the front office, was fun. Free Parking.
