Good location and parking. Tiny shower. Room full of lovely furniture but not well appointed. Odd breakfast ; got the impression one wasn’t expected to go to the dining room for breakfast. In the hallway there were cereals and milk and juice. In the bedroom were some sort of breakfast bars, a couple muffins, tea & coffee. The only fruit were 2 mandarins. Plates etc were in the bedroom so we sat there for breakfast. Felt like the owners didn’t want to actually meet any of their guests. Definitely not the “ 5 star” B& B vibe anticipated.

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Lovely perk with a complimentary glass of sherry and nice fireplace in the sitting room in the evening. Wished there had been a breakfast. Good location, not on the water but on a quiet street.

Lovely old English style boutique hotel, beautiful foyer, breakfast room and my suite (named Orcas Island) was quaintly decorated and very comfortable. Brian was on the desk for checkin and he was most pleasant. Sidney is a lovely walkable sea-side town with lots of choices for eating and shopping.

Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed rooms (I stayed in Lopez room), with a shower and jacuzzi tub. There isn't a fridge in the room, rather a small shared fridge in the hallway. Complimentary parking and breakfast, though parking can be limited and a tight fit for larger vehicles. No elevators, so you will have to carry your bags up the stairs to your room, though I knew this in advance. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. My only concern was the electrical receptacles in the room, although plentiful, did not securely hold plugs in so things plugged in had a tendency to fall out. I would suggest to management to replace them, both for guest convenience and safety (arcing is possible if a connection is not good).

The Beacon Inn continues to be our favourite place to stay whenever we visit Sidney & Victoria. It is beautifully decorated with antiques and tasteful Victorian decor. It’s on a quiet street that is close to the main Beacon Ave & the ocean walkway. The light breakfast that is provided in one’s room may also be supplemented by other treats in the lounge. The main level sitting & tea areas are also a bonus & the late afternoon complimentary sherry is a nice treat. The staff have limited hours & are always friendly and helpful. It’s also nice to have the keypad front door lock to come & go at any time.

The Beacon is a very nice place to stay and the location is perfect. The only "issues not issues" we had was that the mattress was getting worn drooping in the middle and it was filled with extra bedding on the top to compensate for the dip in the center and unfortunately making the bed high centered and I fell out of the bed twice. The shampoo was watered down, half filled and a bit old I say due to the smell and there is no bar soap. I know what everyone is thinking. Who doesn't bring their own grooming product and you're right but this is one time I forgot thought I could use Beacons. The only other concern we had was the poor lighting at night in the parking area. There simply isn't any. I don't think I would feel safe if I wasn't with my husband.

It was a lovely place to stay. RE: Breakfast: sweetened yogurt (one per person) a muffin (one per person) a piece of fruit (one per person) and one piece of cheese (must share). All is commercial pre-packaged type offering. (this was our experience) Also, when we got to the property, we realized we were on the third floor, no elevator. We offered to pay difference for a lower floor room but the gentleman checking us in was very reluctant, so we dropped the matter. I advise extreme caution when booking. Be very sure you where you want to stay. Overall we would stay here again, albeit, on a different floor. Again, very lovely place.

A perfect place to stay after arriving by plane. Beautiful property and room, which was sparkling clean. Breakfast provided was everything we needed and the host was very obliging to change anything to our desire.

The check inn clerk was so friendly and was ready for our arrival. They were able to accommodate our early check-in request, which was wonderful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. It is such a convenient location for all the excitement happening in Sidney. Easy to walk everywhere.

It’s a quaint home but overall I didn’t enjoy the breakfast in the room experience. Location is convenient. Place is clean. The portable AC unit is a bit noisy for me personally. Bathroom is large but mainly taken up by big tub. Shower is tight.

We were there at Christmas. When you walk in it was almost like a Hallmark movie. Very quaint and lovely. The room was big and had a fireplace. My bathroom had a double soaker tub. Definitely will go back again.

Beacon Inn is very conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Sydney and the wharf. The building is attractive and has character. Room included a fireplace, 4-poster bed and oversized tub. Only suggestion is that the breakfast included be served in the very nice downstairs sitting room rather than in room. Adding a European style coffee machine would be amazing too.
Beacon Inn is very conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Sydney and the wharf. The building is attractive and has character. Room included a fireplace, 4-poster bed and oversized tub. Only suggestion is that the breakfast included be served in the very nice downstairs sitting room rather than in room. I did not stay at this hotel. The door was locked. I had prearranged with them for me to arrive after the office had closed. I arrived at 830pm and after several fruitless attempts to contact the owners, I had to give up and go to another hotel. I would like a refund.

Beautiful small boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Room was large with a comfortable bed, attached bathroom and fireplace. Breakfast was put in a small fridge in my room for the next morning. I found the front desk situation odd though. No one at the desk before 10 am or after 8 pm. Tried calling at 9:30 am to ask how to check out but no one answered. Guests are responsible for making sure the front door was locked when desk person not there, slightly discomforting.

The Beacon Inn continues to be our favourite place to stay whenever we visit Sidney & Victoria. It is beautifully decorated with antiques and tasteful Victorian decor. It’s on a quiet street that is close to the main Beacon Ave & the ocean walkway. The light breakfast that is provided in one’s room may also be supplemented by other treats in the lounge. The main level sitting & tea areas are also a bonus & the late afternoon complimentary sherry is a nice treat. The staff have limited hours & are always friendly and helpful. It’s also nice to have the keypad front door lock to come & go at any time.

Beautiful property. Lovely staff. Delicious breakfast and snacks. Sherry served 5-7 pm was the cherry on the top. Great parking and walking distance from shops, restaurants and the ocean. We’ll be back.

The room was clean, but very tired in decor. There is a difference between traditional and tired. Staff were very kind. The toilet was not working and with limited hours when staff is on premise, we let them know at check out. I am not sure how the breakfast is ‘top rated’ when it’s basically a bag lunch with an option to go out in the hallway for cereal. Ok place to stay, but definitely not 5-star as shown on their signage.

Good location and parking. Tiny shower. Room full of lovely furniture but not well appointed. Odd breakfast ; got the impression one wasn’t expected to go to the dining room for breakfast. In the hallway there were cereals and milk and juice. In the bedroom were some sort of breakfast bars, a couple muffins, tea & coffee. The only fruit were 2 mandarins. Plates etc were in the bedroom so we sat there for breakfast. Felt like the owners didn’t want to actually meet any of their guests. Definitely not the “ 5 star” B& B vibe anticipated.

Breakfast was for one person to be shared by 2 people. The receptionist said she would fix it but did not fix it. Breakfast is frozen meals from Costco. Images and write-ups are deceiving. Certainly not worth the $200 we paid for the one night. I ended up having breakfast at a nice local restaurant. I hope they refund me the $50 spent on breakfast.

The check inn clerk was so friendly and was ready for our arrival. They were able to accommodate our early check-in request, which was wonderful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. It is such a convenient location for all the excitement happening in Sidney. Easy to walk everywhere.

Beacon Inn is very conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Sydney and the wharf. The building is attractive and has character. Room included a fireplace, 4-poster bed and oversized tub. Only suggestion is that the breakfast included be served in the very nice downstairs sitting room rather than in room. Adding a European style coffee machine would be amazing too.

Loved the location and the ambience! The included breakfast needs an upgrade from an old, dry, plastic wrapped muffin, an orange and a small yogurt. Way better to go Next door for amazing scones, or down the street to the 3rd Ave Cafe for a great breakfast.

Our stay at Beacon Inn was a wonderful break from a very long road trip. We walked through the neighborhood, visited the aquarium, shopped the local stores, and had scones and tea at a wonderful bakery just a few blocks away. This part of Sidney was beautiful and we enjoyed it very much. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable, spacious, and well outfitted. The host was very polite and helpful. He gave us a quick tour, explained how doors, parking, coffee/tea, and breakfast worked, and made recommendations about our trip to Butchart Gardens that evening. The bed was quite comfortable, the neighborhood is very quiet at night, and we were able to relax and rest up for the next long drive the following morning. We loved our stay at Beacon Inn, and will be back when we are in the area again!

I just loved my stay at the Beacon Inn. As a female travelling alone , it was very safe, the door was always locked. The staff was amazing and super friendly. I was greeted by name when I entered. The best was the jacuzzi in my room. It was steps to the beach, shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Everything was very clean and the staff and amenities were great. The carpets are getting a little tired but the beds & bedding were excellent. We definitely recommend this accommodation.
