I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Shelton, CT. The hotel was clean and modern, the room was very spacious, and the staff were always polite and helpful. There was a heated pool and a fitness room that you could use for free. The free buffet breakfast every morning was delicious and very filling. The only issue I had was that there was no safe in the room which meant I had to lock my valuables away in my suitcase when I was out, but apart from that, I enjoyed my stay, and I would definitely stay there again.

When we checked in the hotel couldn’t find our reservation; the room we were assigned to eventually had water damage on the wall by the sofa bed and the blinds as well had streaks of water stains

The state of the room was poor. It looks like there was some kind of water damage as there were spots on the ceiling and around the window to suggest water damage. The room smelled of mold and there was visible mold on the window blinds. The carpets felt damp. This room definitely needs some work done.

While the staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast was good, we had to move rooms because we were positioned by the rooftop air-conditioning units (King bed rooms on 2nd floor) which made such a noise they kept us awake and made the floor and bed vibrate through the night. When we moved to the new room the overhead light as you entered the room didn't work, there were no coffee making facilities, the lever on the bath to operate the shower was jammed (so shower didn't work) and the drawers would only open half way. As we had already moved rooms we couldn't be bothered to move again, but it just felt really low end and somewhere you'd only stay a night for convenience (we were there for 4 nights visiting family in the area).

The staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The room was only ok. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, too firm. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. I personally don't like feather pillows. And the sheets were too small for the bed. They should have been deep pocket sheets but were not. Every time my husband or I rolled over the fitted bottom sheet popped off. That should not happen at this price point. And the shower door wanted to rool open as if it was not level.. We won't be going back.

The property was just so-so. Felt somewhat dated and in need of renovations. Broken toilet seat cover and poor lighting. The lobby and common areas were very nice, but the rooms need a refit.

The signs say they are embarking on a major rennovation, so I'll give them some grace. That said, the staff could not have been friendlier -- extremely nice and welcoming. The room was way past needing a major upgrade. No soap at the sink to wash your hands -- had to use the shower gel for that! No option on the TV for Netflix or other subscription, and limited channels. The heat/AC was hard to conrol. Breakfast was convenient but just average for these types of places. Looking forward to the upgrade -- it really needs it!!

I chose this hotel for my wife's hopefully romantic, birthday weekend. Although the hotel was very nice, I was extremely disappointed in the Standard room king bed room, which I purchased, over the nearby Hampton Inn, Hillton Inn, and Marriot Courtyard, due to the false advertisement of the room in the 6 accompanying slides. We had stayed here only an hour from our house due to lodgings attributes for our stay. 1) SLIDE 3 showed a COUCH, which was an EXTREME FACTOR in my choosing this Hotel. Instead, they had 1 single solitary chair for 2 people, so we were unable to sit and watch TV together. SLIDE 4 Showed a large Refrigerator, which we hoped to put the Birthday cake in, and put Ice Cream in the freezer. Instead, they had a Small refrigerator underneath the desk which was useless to our needs, and forced us to leave the Cake in the car and forego the Ice Cream. In summary, the hotel was nice, but falsely advertised the couch, and large refigerator which is why I purchased the Hyatt hotel, and not the other,nice hotels which I noted earlier. The room was falsely advertised, plain and simple. I didn't mention this at checkout, as I didn't want to embarrass my wife on her birthday weekend. I was planning to stay at the Hyatt next year for our 10th anniversary, but now no way.
