As a lover of history, you cannot find a better place that a spot that has been operating for a thousand years! Clean, comfortable where the staff are super friendly and welcoming. If you want to immerse yourself in the Cotswolds, start here! The food at the restaurant was amazing as well!

What a charming inn! We loved our stay at the Porch House. Though the original charm is intact, the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom, though small, was updated. We enjoyed the very convenient location to sites in Stow-on-the-Wold, the lovely pub and restaurant and the hospitality of all of the staff. There is a lot of interesting history at the Porch House. As a bonus, we arrived late and were allowed to stay in our temporary parking spot for the night. We were the last guest to check in and other available parking was scarce. That was very kind and very appreciated.

Great hotel...thought it was pretty cool that it's the oldest inn in England. We had dinner at the hotel one night and food and service was very good. Breakfast also delicious and made to order!! The location is very convenient to shopping and other restaurants. There is not hotel parking available, but paid parking is nearby. Our room was on the second floor and no lift in the hotel. A staff member carried our bags up the stairs for us. Everyone was very pleasant.

Great England experience in a 1000 year old inn. Central and authentic. Loved the room over the entrance with views all around. Didn’t mind banging my head on the door frame too much, but I am 5’7”! Great pub downstairs. Not modern but that is what we were looking for.

The property was what I expected but all the services were run on a shoe string. Checking in at the bar. Ordering drinks at the bar along with other casual visitors for a drink. Restaurant was fully booked. I was offered a table in the bar, which I didn't mind, but I had to queue at the bar to place my order. There was no consideration to you being a resident. Residents bar and lounge area was non operational.

I had an amazing experience at the porch house. The staff was phenomenal. Very friendly and willing to assist as needed. The room was very clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. I even ate at their restaurant and the food was delicious. There is long-term parking down the street that is easy use. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

The hotel is very old and quaint, however, a lot of the decor looked very tired and worn out. Couldn't tell if it was tired or just needed a good cleaning. The bathroom was not equipped well. No tissues or wash clothes. Window shade in the room was not working well. Bed was comfortable and sheets seemed fine. The access to the room was difficult because of some very narrow and low ceiling stairs. Staff wasn't overly friendly and they seemed frazzled and under staffed. We did have a very good meal in the restaurant.

My wife and I chose The Porch House for our 2 night stay in November becuase we perceived the common areas to be comfortable places to spend some down time in the Cotswolds. We were not disappointed. The Inn is very comfortable and the bar was great. The rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit small. Overall I am glad we stayed theyre and would definitely stay there again if searching for a room.

This is a lovely historic property with a great restaurant. The only thing that could be improved is the WiFi. It was non-existent in our room and in the public areas we were required to give personal information and allow our phones to be tracked to use it. We chose not to.

Whilst the food was nice and the waitress lovely, there were some really disappointing elements to our stay…our bathroom had some unsightly grimy areas…we stayed during a heat wave and whilst no one can control the weather, the room was unbearably hot despite the use of two old and not very effective fans…we had a very poor night sleep for this reason! The path to the outside garden area had an area that looked very unsightly with rubbish and various other items. Absolutely not worth the money for this stay and would not recommend or return.

The Porch House was a comfortable choice for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and the room clean and bed really comfortable. The inn is very old and has lots of character, but the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were quite small.

It was truly a pleasure to stay at England’s oldest inn. We loved our room, the history and the restaurant. We brought our dog as well, and it was just such a lovely weekend. Can’t wait to come back.

Only a one night stay but stay was great. From check in staff, bar and restaurant staff and the cleaners we met when we arrived and departed were all great, friendly and welcoming. The hotel is excellent for a real taste of the Cotswolds and our meal in the restaurant in the evening, and breakfast in the morning were great also.

The hotel is excellent for a real taste of the Cotswolds and our meal in the restaurant in the evening, and breakfast in the morning were great also.

Great hotel...thought it was pretty cool that it's the oldest inn in England. We had dinner at the hotel one night and food and service was very good. Breakfast also delicious and made to order!! The location is very convenient to shopping and other restaurants. There is not hotel parking available, but paid parking is nearby. Our room was on the second floor and no lift in the hotel. A staff member carried our bags up the stairs for us. Everyone was very pleasant.

The property was what I expected but all the services were run on a shoe string. Checking in at the bar. Ordering drinks at the bar along with other casual visitors for a drink. Restaurant was fully booked. I was offered a table in the bar, which I didn't mind, but I had to queue at the bar to place my order. There was no consideration to you being a resident. Residents bar and lounge area was non operational.

I had an amazing experience at the porch house. The staff was phenomenal. Very friendly and willing to assist as needed. The room was very clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. I even ate at their restaurant and the food was delicious. There is long-term parking down the street that is easy use. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

The hotel is very old and quaint, however, a lot of the decor looked very tired and worn out. Couldn't tell if it was tired or just needed a good cleaning. The bathroom was not equipped well. No tissues or wash clothes. Window shade in the room was not working well. Bed was comfortable and sheets seemed fine. The access to the room was difficult because of some very narrow and low ceiling stairs. Staff wasn't overly friendly and they seemed frazzled and under staffed. We did have a very good meal in the restaurant.

What a charming inn! We loved our stay at the Porch House. Though the original charm is intact, the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom, though small, was updated. We enjoyed the very convenient location to sites in Stow-on-the-Wold, the lovely pub and restaurant and the hospitality of all of the staff. There is a lot of interesting history at the Porch House. As a bonus, we arrived late and were allowed to stay in our temporary parking spot for the night. We were the last guest to check in and other available parking was scarce. That was very kind and very appreciated.

Great England experience in a 1000 year old inn. Central and authentic. Loved the room over the entrance with views all around. Didn’t mind banging my head on the door frame too much, but I am 5’7”! Great pub downstairs. Not modern but that is what we were looking for.

For a slice of history, you can’t beat the Porch House. A warren of comfy eating areas downstairs with halls leading out to the village. Clean charming rooms. Really nice staff that make you feel like the place belongs to you. And the wonderful “snug” for late night post up with a friend (or daughter in my case!)

Excellent venue and everything about the room, facilities and food was great. One problem with a less than helpful member of staff in the restaurant but this was hopefully a one-off.

We had the very special suite - room #1 and it was incredible. So much room - a real home away from home. Being such an old place - the features are stunning. 😍 Stow on the Wold is adorable and this place is simply the best. We loved our stay!

O local é bem antigo, o quarto e banheiro muito pequenos, a cama é excelente, não tem ar condicionado (mas como é frio, não sentimos falta), a ideia lá é a experiência de dormir num local medieval. Não tem café da manhã. O jantar é caro assim como os vinhos, mas pudemos tomar um excelente Bordeaux de 60 libras.
