Good size room and bathroom. All clean and in good condition. Breakfast was also very good with the usual hot choices. Dinner menu was limited but the food was great. And there was a residents’ discount. We would definitely return.

Lovely staff, great location BUT not very disabled friendly. I struggle to walk due to a hip injury, and there's no elevator - just A Lot of stairs.

Bar are at the front a little dated in deco but the staff were fantastic so that made up for it! Rooms were clean and comfy and they served up a great breakfast. Plenty of parking spaces too

Shame no ground floor rooms. Room sas fine for solo traveller. Lovely bathroom Was looking forward to evening meals in restaurant from previous visits..shame now closed...but superb breakfasts. Close enough to amenaties. Shops and transport.

We had a 2-night stay. Convenient location to get to central Manchester by train. Davenport station less than 10 minute walk. Free parking. Excellent clean, warm room. Friendly service. Good breakfast.

Immaculately clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming. Everything was exemplary, from the comfy bed, the lovely shower and the super soft towels. It was so comfortable that I would have liked to stay longer. The staff were also friendly and helpful and the breakfast was just superb.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I paid £55 for a night's bed and breakfast on a Saturday (the Travelodge nearby was £150 room only!). The common areas (reception and bar) were very nicely decorated / furnished and felt more like a higher priced hotel. The room was nicely done with well thought out lighting / socket placement, very fresh smelling bedding and it was exceptionally (spotlessly!) clean. Breakfast was very good (tinned fruit being the only giveaway this was a budget hotel), great selection for a full English with quality ingredients, fresh pastries. All the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if in the area, it would be my first choice.

Staff courteous but busy; understandable due to Christmas events. Room’s over bed lights - only one was working. Wondered if it was just a loose tube etc so had a look behind the shade. It was very dusty and obviously not featured in weekly or monthly cleaning schedule. We had a tight schedule visiting friends and family in the area and came back to hotel to relax between visits and would have liked more tea bags for our number of nights stay v number of guests; especially when housekeeping is a choice for guests. When we did ask at reception for extra they were happy to give but said “I’ll give you one each” and we had to request double that !

Parking and staff were great. The room was clean but very tired.Housekeeping had done their best. The pillows were awful, no protectors and badly stained. The bed linen was worn and thin but clean. The carpet was marked and worn. It would cost much for new pillows!

What a lovely hotel! I didn’t expect much considering how economical it was but it definitely exceeded my expectations by a mile. The staff were absolutely lovely, really helpful and friendly. The room was absolutely spotless and had everything I might need. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast and really tasty. Nice quiet room, I slept like a log. Will definitely be going back next time I visit the area.

Very dated rooms and facilities, especially in terms of power sockets, shower, bathroom overall. No blackout curtains, so you'll get woken up on sunny days. They're pretty stingy on toiletries, although happy to provide more on request. Good service, good staff, comfortable enough.

The beds were hard, not comfortable at all, got very little sleep due to this, and the very thin walls. We could hear kids running in the corridor at 2am, and crying. Could also hear tv noise and general loud chat from other rooms, all due to the thin walls. Not a place i would come back to.

The building looks nice from outside but the room we had was dated and badly in need of an overhaul. The curtains hardly fitted the window and let in the outside flood lighting up the room during the night. Wallpaper pealing off the walls. Bit disappointed to be honest.

Lovely old property and my room was great for the money. One small thing it didn't have a USB socket. This would not normally be a problem because I'd pack an adaptor, but this was an unplanned stay over.

Staff was very friendly. The property is a little dated. 1970 ish. No individual heat control in the room, just a fan and a portable radiator. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Buffet had usual choices expected. Price is reasonable . Buxton Rd is quite busy but did not intrude.

This was the 2nd time I have stayed here, the last time 2023, The actual hotel, and all those employed were excellent, however some of the guests as in all hotels really should have some respect of other guests, we are all not up at 5am, we are all not in bed at midnight, some of their attitudes are deplorable, for goodness sake people, there is a handle to open and close the doors, do you do it at home? if you do, god help your families! But apart from that, I have full praise, and if I ever travel to Stockport again, I will be sure to stay here, I have so much praise for the staff, all exceptionally polite, and always do everything in their power to help. My biggest praise goes to Ellie, who sorted me out on my first day with my walk in shower! Gold star

The hotel is dated but clean and the rooms are a decent size, no lifts in the place. First night was okay but on the 2nd they had a wedding, I had to leave the hotel as the music was so loud at 1730 that I couldn't relax in my room at all and the staff were very unhelpful, the music went on until 2330 and there were several others complaining when I came back to the hotel after dinner. If they want to have functions with very loud music they need better soundproofing. I got offered a measly free breakfast for my inconvenience but managed to get £20 back as a refund which was still very poor, should have been a full night refund. Overall never stay here if they have a function as it was unbearable

Arrived after 10pm , Lady on reception not very welcoming hardly spoke. Rooms very old fashioned and very dated , been to lovelier hotels and less costly, Breakfast in morning was good paid that separate &10 cost and kids only had toast and jam and the other Nutella .

Extremely helpful staff member on reception. TV in room had no signal , tried to fix it but not working. Offered us a change of room, which we declined as only staying 1 night. Offered us packed lunch for onward journey which we accepted.

Staff were excellent very helpful and some (Stacey) went out of their way to help me with a hairbrush issue 😊thank you xx I would definitely stay again. The hotel itself is a bit dated and needs TLC but the staff makes up for it. I hope you enjoyed the biscuits.

It was a great stay. It’s next to a very busy road which means noise, but other than that I can’t fault it. I would definitely use it again and would recommend to others.

Myself , my husband and my teenage son had a very pleasant stay here. We chose this hotel as it was only a short drive to old Trafford football ground where we went for soccer aid. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. There were no lifts but that didn't boher us as the stairs weren't steep. The room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely with a really good selection of full English breakfast, pastries, cereal, yogurt and fruit. Would stay again .

I liked the hotel setting and the location with excellent public transport links being easy to access Manchester. The breakfast was an excellent start to the day with staff who were accommodating, making me feel at home.

Needed a Hotel close to Steppng Hill Hospital for one night prior to surgery and this one was reallly convenient. 5 minute bus ride at 06.30 in morning. Prices very reasonable.

We had a 2-night stay. Convenient location to get to central Manchester by train. Davenport station less than 10 minute walk. Free parking. Excellent clean, warm room. Friendly service. Good breakfast.

The decor is as basic as it gets, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. There’s a large car park with free parking right in front of the hotel, and the building itself is nice and the staff are welcoming. Incredibly basic but fine value for money.

Good size room and bathroom. All clean and in good condition. Breakfast was also very good with the usual hot choices. Dinner menu was limited but the food was great. And there was a residents’ discount. We would definitely return.

The reception staff on arrival were very good the room was also clean and well set out, the morning breakfast was excellant good standard of food available, staff good and helpfull . I will be coming back to stay again.

This is the second time at this hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. The beds while spotless were a little hard and uncomfortable, the breakfast was extra and average, although a variety of cereal and yogurt not much in the way of fruit to add to it , just a little chopped pineapple and nothing else, the cooked breakfast was adequate but lukewarm. I would stay here again.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I paid £55 for a night's bed and breakfast on a Saturday (the Travelodge nearby was £150 room only!). The common areas (reception and bar) were very nicely decorated / furnished and felt more like a higher priced hotel. The room was nicely done with well thought out lighting / socket placement, very fresh smelling bedding and it was exceptionally (spotlessly!) clean. Breakfast was very good (tinned fruit being the only giveaway this was a budget hotel), great selection for a full English with quality ingredients, fresh pastries. All the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if in the area, it would be my first choice.

Hotel is very dated and neglected. Stayed here three times over the past 12 months, every time there is ‘an issue with the chef’ and breakfast is reduced to a very limited selection of cereal and stale coffee. I had given them the benefit of the doubt initially but there are much better options out there.

3 star hotel with 5 star service. Though I had a problem with my room, they upgraded me for free. Strong and decent WiFi. Ample parking. No comments on the bar or restaurant as I didn't use either, but they both looked really good on my way past. Room was a little bit dated, but the bed was comfortable and noise levels minimal. Hotel is nice, rooms are a bit dated but lovely and clean which is what is most important for me. I stayed on my own in a single room for training course nearby so didn’t eat at the hotel but the breakfast did smell amazing. The single room was decent size with single bed, wardrobe, set of drawers and a dressing table with mirror and a kettle with tea, coffee and sugar and I was left a nice pack of 2 chocolate cookies (thank you for that little gesture) then a table with the tv on it. A door that leads to the bathroom that was nice and clean, basic shower (runs off the bath taps) there was a fan and hairdryer inside the wardrobe too. Decent size carpark, Overall a lovely stay, would definitely stay again if I was to come back for more training courses.
