Hotel Jägerhorn

We enjoyed every thing about this hotel- staff, location, shampoo/soap/lotion and especially breakfast. Be aware that the hotel fronts onto a no drive street and has no elevator. Thus schlepping bags could be a chore if your’s are big & bulky and/or you’re physically compromised. The parking space is located a short distance…maybe a block from hotel.

Good location and beautiful interior. Parking is a short walk, but plenty of spaces when we arrived. No elevators, but help was offered. Not too bad if flight of stairs. Quiet and nice walk to see things around. If you are traveling by the train, probably a good choice too.

No elevator in the property.

Be aware that the parking lot for this property is 3 blocks from the hotel and some of the sidewalks are cobblestone, making getting your bags to the hotel very difficult. It is in the walking only zone as indicated in the description but other hotels we’ve stayed at with this predicament send golf carts to the parking lot to pick you up. When we arrived the room was 15° too warm and the A/C unit would never had caught up. They knew what time we were arriving and should have cooled the room in advance. I would like to commend Lucija at the front desk for doing everything she could to remedy the situation including switching us to a different room which already had the A/C turned down - Thank You!

The hotel has a beautiful outdoor terrace and the location is excellent. The concierge was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and organizing transportation to and from the airport. The downside is that you have to carry your bags up the stairs - in our case 2 stories. The rooms are a bit on the small side but nice.

Good complementary breakfast. Friendly staff and helpful. Not onsite parking but secure and nearby. Room is cozy but has everything you need. Be weary of the sloped ceiling for tall people. Close to public transport. Great food options are close. Back entrance to hotel gives access to sites. No elevator.

Fantastic location with great airport pickup option. Staff was very nice. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom well sized with good amenities. Our room was quiet and we were there on a weekend. Breakfast was average. There wasn't an elevator, which was a little difficult but not terrible.

Quarto triplo no 1º andar e conjugado, com áreas separadas: 2 camas e TV no primeiro cômodo e 1 cama de casal e frigobar no segundo cômodo. Móveis antigos (mas bem conservados) e carpet. Tem um “livro” com as regras do hotel dizendo que você não pode fazer nada. Também tem uma lista de preços, caso você “infrinja alguma delas”. Achei desnecessário e rude. Banheiro grande com box e toalheiro aquecido. O banheiro tem portas pros dois quartos. A localização é ótima, fica bem no centro e tem estacionamento grátis, porém fica a uns 400m do hotel. Na rua do hotel não passa carro, o que é um problema para descarregar as malas. Café da manhã simples, mas gostoso. Pães, frios, sucos, iogurte, salada de frutas, ovos. O espaço é pequeno, mas aconchegante. Na área dos fundos do hotel, tem uma escadaria que leva à cidade alta.

Nice hotel in the center of the tourist area of Zagreb. Quiet, comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet. Staff at desk were very helpful and friendly. Cafe/bar is a nice hang.

The bad -- I asked for a crib when I made my booking. On arrival was told one was not available because housekeeping had gone home. Fortunately my child is old enough to be safely in a bed, but nobody slept well and made for a miserable night / next day for everyone. The Ugly -- Parking is about 10 minutes away if you're trying to carry your luggage. While it is "secure" there is no lighting/ cameras, and the 2 of the 4 walls are basically abandoned buildings in severe disrepair. The street you enter from is one-way and does not appear super busy late at night, so if you're trying to leave early for the airport or arriving late you might feel pretty vulnerable. Also, they actually can't help you at all hours as 'overnight' there is one person on property who can't leave. So if you must go to airport before dawn you must go to parking unassisted; assume same is true for late check-ins. DIRTY, DIRTY property. I'm not sure a baseboard in the place has been dusted in months (?years), the carpet in the main stairwell is rather tired and stained, mildew in the shower, but most concerning was how dirty the walls in my room were (as if anything ever spilled was to be left there in perpetuity). If these obvious things are so gross, what about other cleaning standards?

The hotel was clean but had the smell of cigarettes in the hallway. We were on the “first floor” which meant we had to walk up to two flights of stairs with suitcases, and no elevators. However, the room we stayed in was nice and clean. But for the price, would rather stay elsewhere next time.

The property was easy to find and I liked there was staff Available 0-24 hours. The room was clean.

It is a shame that the first hotel in Zagreb has been left to such a sorry state. The hall and room carpeting is so disgusting you don’t want to take off socks. The photos online in no way represent the interior of the hotel. Having said this the outside space is lovely and bkfst was fine.

For the price I was really disappointed. The carpets were filthy. The room was small and hot. This hotel needs a complete upgrade. Everything is old and worn.

First, the positives: the location is excellent, and the hotel is attractive. On to negatives: I asked for a quiet room, but was put in a room over the courtyard, with windows not nearly thick enough to block out the sound of music and conversation below. I also killed one cockroach in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was as stingy as I remember encountering in Europe.

I found Hotel Jägerhorn to be at two ends of the spectrum. On the positive, the staff and support team were fantastic. They went out of their way to help me with my questions and needs. And, the location is amazing! But, the hotel is tired. The carpet is old and stained and my room 205 was smelly. I tried to air it out with the lovely open window but to no avail. Also, as the hotel has no elevator, carrying the bags up and down two flights of stairs is a heavy lift for an older woman like me. Again, the staff were extremely helpful in taking one of the bags up and down but it required asking. They are not staffed to do so. So....I would recommend the hotel but suggest to the hotel it gives itself a bit of a renovation.....

The hotel is off the street and quiet and safe. Great location in the middle of the old town and easy walking to most anything. Many good restaurants nearby. Rooms were clean, and while a little small were comfortable. Stairs and hallways a little worn and tired looking. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Excellent breakfast with nice outdoor patio. Would recommend this hotel.

Cleanliness of carpet and walls was lower than expectations. Staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. Location was great. Court yard was Clean, pretty and quiet.

Overall, very impressed. Only a 3 star and this is probably a fair reflection. Breakfast is spot on, the coffee in particular amazing. Bit of a walk with cases as taxis can’t stop outside. Staff all lovely. Centrally located. Only negative, we had a very creaky room. Floorboards creaked in our room and we could hear floorboards in neighbouring rooms which disturbed us quite often . Would recommend though at this price point

We liked the rooms which were situated under the eaves and the staff were very helpful and considerate. Breakfasts were good with lots of choice. However, we had continual problems with the heating in one of our rooms which was never really sorted out, so the room was either too hot or too cold, and one of the TVs didn't work for most of the week. Also, we had asked for quiet rooms but had not been warned that there would be live music and disco music on the hill directly behind our rooms at the weekend and this went on until midnight. There was also nightclub noise on another night during the week. This made sleeping impossible. The combination of the heating problem and the noise did affect our enjoyment of our stay in Zagreb.

Desk staff great. Property very ragged, dusty and worn out. Really don’t get all the ‘clean’ reviews!! Room booked thru Expedia was top floor, three flights of stairs (that’s right-no elevator and no bell help!), dormer room. Could not stand up in 1/2 of the room!

The hotel was in a convenient location walkable around Zagreb center. Our only complaint was that there is a night club next to the hotel with a top floor terrace bar. Our room was facing toward the front of the building on the top floor, right next to the terrace bar. So if you're looking for a quiet night stay on a Saturday night...forget it. The music boomed until 4:00 in the morning. We got NO sleep that night. The next day we had to put on a little pressure to get moved from the front of the building to the back (which faces gardens). When we checked in, I asked if the front facing rooms were quiet (as they also face a cafe courtyard and the street). I was assured they were; however, I wish I had pursued getting a room that faced toward the garden/back. I'm not sure, though, if that would have made any difference regarding the Saturday night roof top bar and music, as it probably would have echoed everywhere. Overall, the staff was very friendly and rooms comfortable.

Good location inside the city with charming cafe tables on the sidewalk. Stairs only and we had a room with a slanted ceiling, so not good for a tall or large person. Breakfast buffet is delicious and the staff are pleasant. Good value.

Great WiFi for our iPads and mobiles (however poor for the television which only had online channels so unable to watch). Overall a fantastic small beautiful hotel, thank you

Super location for seeing the main square. Very friendly staff, and special mention to Davor who made our stay even better. Great job man! Great coffee at breakfast. Hotel has a lot of charm as expected for an older property. Room AC wasn't working, but not a huge issue - we just opened a window on an evening.

Incredible service and excellent location. We will recommend to anyone staying in Zagreb!!! The front desk workers, including their trainee, were fantastic. Definitely book this!

Great service from staff and excellent breakfast. Receptionists (especially Davor) were very friendly.

Nice hotel in a great location. Parking was also a plus. The desk staff was mixed. The person who checked us in was very friendly, but upon check out in the morning, the other person barely made eye contact with us and was not at all engaging. We also did not quite appreciate that they "suggested" a 5 euro tip from us to add to the bill. We never had this heavy handed tipping trick anywhere else during on trip in Croatia.

The girls at the desk were very helpful with making sure I had my taxi and that I was comfortable.

A wonderful place to stay in the heart of the lower and upper town. Exactly where you want to be. Thank you Anton, Mr. D and the kind and helpful young lady at reception that went out of their way to make my stay an enjoyable one.

Service should be a 6*. I don't think I've been in a place with a better team. Big shout out to the Cafe staff - big shout out to Petar and Matko(sp?).

A small property in the heart of the city with easy access to Uppertown and Lowertown. I felt at home here. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Despite the central location, it’s also quiet and tucked away. There’s no drive-up access, however. The hotel can coordinate a transfer from the airport - plan this with them in advance.

Perfect location in centre of Zagreb with free parking available. The parking is about 10 minutes walk from hotel on mainly pedestrian streets, so no issue with rolling you baggage to hotel. Staff friendly and helpful and managed to get us an early check in after an early morning flight arrival. Staff lent us umbrellas for a city walk. The hotel is up a quiet side street with well furnished rooms. Good breakfast offered on site.

Hotel Jagerhorn is very centrally located. You can easily walk to sights of interest and there are many, many dining and shopping options within 5 minutes walking distance. Be aware that Ilica is mostly closed to cars, so your Uber will need to drop off and pick up half a block away. KentBank is a visible drop off/pick up point at the corner of Ilica and a street that allows cars. Also, you will need to roll/carry your luggage down the street and up stairs (no elevator). The staff is friendly and the hotel reflects a bygone era, although the bathroom is fairly modern. Loved our 2nd floor room with openable rooftop skylights so that we could hear the rain. Housekeeping was slapdash - waste containers not emptied, conditioner bottle empty, sheets not smoothed out. The front desk staff is efficient, helpful and cheerful.

The property was nicely situated in the shopping and historical part of town. The room was very comfortable and the staff helpful and pleasant. The only drawback was that the hotel parking area was several blocks from the hotel itself. Driving is Zagreb is stressful anyway so we turned in our rental car and got around by foot and taxi. Problem solved.

The best part of this hotel is the location. It is located smack in the middle of the main tourist section of Zagreb and that's if you walk out the front. If you go out the back there is staircase that takes you right up to the Old section of Zagreb.

The location of the hotel is top notch. You can walk out the back door and right up to the top of the hill and directly to one of the main tourist areas. If you walk out the front door, you are right in the middle of downtown with all the amenities. There is a nice little bar in the hotel with a really picturesque indoor square and a few esoteric shops. Very quiet little oasis to have a coffee or a drink in the morning, afternoon or evening. The breakfast is really top notch. You might have to get there early to snag some of the baked goods as I think they ran out right after I took the last croissant. I would go back and stay here next time I visit Zagreb.

Fantastic location. Could walk to everything downtown; the main square, funicular, museums, open air market at main square, old town, fabulous restaurants. The room was lovely and the breakfast had wonderful food; eggs, vegetables, sausage, cheese, fruit, granola, yogurt, croissants, coffee, fresh orange juice squeezed, and other items. We loved the hotel.

I am not sure how this property has so many excellent ratings. It is a DUMP!! So outdated and just old. The bed must be as old at the hotel, because it was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. The tv literally did not work properly to manage to watch any stations, there is no elevator which is fine, but then there really is noone to help with luggage either. I would not recommend staying here. The ONLY thing I enjoyed was the breakfast, but again that was limited and they served the exact same thing every single day.

トラムの駅から近く、アッパータウンとローワータウンの境に位置していたので観光にはとても立地がよかったです。ホテル内部は趣のある雰囲気で統一され、見て歩くだけでも楽しい気分になりました。無料の朝食は種類が豊富で美味しかったし、テラスで食べるのも非常に気に入りました！ ただ、室内のエアコンが使いにくかったことと、1階カフェのお手洗いが少し清掃が行き届いていなかった点が残念でした。
